Hi Mr. Pitt, another great video. Thank you for sharing with us. You are one of the few painters I can tolerate watching. You are so genuine and humble. No pretension or arrogance. Thank you to your family for their hard work too.
Even watching the video in a warm room, I could feel the cold in the atmosphere as you worked and the sombre mood and feeling of the day was well captured in your depiction.
Such a beautiful painting, Mr. Pitts! The colors are truly alive and that's amazing in a painting that is somewhat overcast rather than bright sun! Always a pleasure to watch you!
Fantastic new video. You make the brushstrokes look nonchalant but they're deeply thought out. Beautiful painting, lots to learn from. Your advice is extremely useful - no-nonsense.
Really enjoyed watching this video Andrew. Love your honesty and you sharing that sometimes it requires a few goes to get things how you want them to look. Still love your paintings hanging on the walls at my house. Happy Christmas!
Thank you Andrew. I always learn a lot from your demonstrations and look forward to your videos. Have a very happy Christmas 🎄 and all the best for 2025
I live in Brisbane, Australia where we don’t have autumn. The summers are VERY hot and humid and unfortunately it feels like it’s never ending as this extremely uncomfortable weather lasts at least 8 months. During these 8 months I find it unbearable to be outdoors because the sun is blinding from before 7am and I’m dripping with sweat within minutes of being outdoors. In reality we only have 3 months at best to paint outdoors… we only go to Europe in winter to escape the ugly summers, we were there for 6 months one time and for the first time ever I could spend the whole day outdoors every single day without giving the weather a second thought , yes, it was cold and snowy sometimes but as long as I could stay warm I was outside everyday painting! I don’t think I’ve ever been able to spend time outdoors everyday in Brisbane for more than 4 months of every year, it saddens me and I live for the 4 months of cooler weather. I love to watch people in the UK and Europe being outdoors painting, wishing that I could do the same…. You are very privileged with your beautiful 4 seasons and cool weather.
@ I think about moving a LOT and dream a lot about how I’d go about it… my 4 adult children and 2 grandchildren are here and that is the ONLY thing that keeps me here, having said that my children would completely understand why I’d move (my preferred cool climate with 4 seasons weather in Australia would be over 2,000km away) - they’ve ’let go of me’ but I struggle to let go of them… I think it’s an issue for most parents… but I’m REALLY working on it….
@ I know exactly how you feel. I was wise enough (lucky) to move before our son settled down. I’d like to say I thought ahead but we were just very fortunate.

Oh, that’s very generous, thank you.
Andrew, I really like the muted tones, creating the overcast atmosphere of the day. Despite the weather, it was well worth your endeavour.
