Ive lived in my buddies rental for over 20 years. Im about to take on the same project on my bathroom. Just im gonna use durarock around the tub surround.
The only thing I would have done differently is not lay your tiles half way on the next row good practice is to split the joints 1/3 or 1/4 just to prevent cracking but what do I know I'm a drywaller looks beautiful from my house hahaha no really it looks good😎👌👍🇨🇦
Reason they recommend 1/3 offset on the tile box isn’t too prevent cracking. It’s because when they cook the tile, they sometimes cup. So there is less lippage if one offset by 1/3 than 1/2. Witg self levelling clips we use now the tile can be bent flush so it’s not a problem anymore. And the tile are less cupped than they use to.
