You know, stuff like this really makes me realize how freaking talented video game composers are. Look how complicated these are to play. And then realize how iconic these songs are. I'm glad video game music is finally getting it's due (our local classical station has a stream dedicated to video game music now).
Capcom were the masters. There's even incredible tracks in lesser known games like Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers, Mighty Final Fight, and Little Nemo: The Dream Master. Sunsoft (Batman) and Konami (Contra, Castlevania) get a shoutout too.
It's really amazing because not only did they have to be musically genius to compose the music, they also often had to build their own software to make it work on the sound chip set. It's not like today where they just create an MP3 and add it to the game files.

Honestly I can name like... 1 Mega Man song, but I know the tunes! Sadly not even from the games although I loved them as a kid, mostly from listening to the metal renditions by Minibosses.
Its kinda crazy how the mm9 songs fit into the mm music catalog! Those composers did not skip a beat with maintaining the feel of the old music but also adding more depth to the tracks. mm9 has such a lovely soundtrack!

That is true dedication :) I'm working towards a licentiate diploma in piano performance having achieved two associate diplomas over the last couple of years. I always keep a tab open with your performances. Your sightreading skill is exceptional and you are without a doubt one of my favourite performers. I may have also stolen your 'forward stool tip' as I find that gives me more of a 'shock absorber' for certain pieces. :D

These games were my childhood, especially 2 and 3. My older cousin had them and I remember just sitting enthralled as she tried to beat them. Wonderful piano playing as usual! I love the times when you had to slow down or stop because I can see the wheels turning in your head as you figure out the part that needed work. I wish I had continued the piano lessons I took as a kid.

yay always great to wakeup to a new Kara upalod. I know most magaman songs from owning the collection back on my GameCube back in the days. It had megaman 1-9 on it with 10 being a unlockable after beating 1-9 on it. :)
I always thought that the climbing notes of MM3 Wily Stage 3 (the first song on here) sounded a lot like the climbing notes in the 80s song It's Raining Men.
