Startng to watch your excellent history series on Tassie and totally enjoying it! I lived between Mole Creek and Chudleigh in the mid-late 80s as a little boy so am all familiar with that town. Never thought about the bridge but might of drove over on my Tassie trips in the past 10 years! Interesting to learn about that bridge and its significance, will definitely check it out on my next trip to Tassie when I go to Mole Creek again.
Thank you for your feedback. Have just got back onto editing my Tasmanian Rediscovered footage to create more episodes after a long break. Have stories on around 20 more original H.J. King photo locations to produce ! Certainly makes one look at certain places in a different light!
Awesome video and well said! The perfect spot is like finding a needle in a haystack! With test board 4 the mountains didn't line up. I drove up and down and finally asking a farm worker. Showing him the original photo... he knew... climbing a mountain! (Not fit enough and trying to keep up!) On all Lewis's shots he stayed close to the road... until that day, he climbed a mountain! My Nikon DSLR and tripod became heavy! It was 4:30 in the afternoon mid summer... 34 degrees C! You need the knowledge of people of the area if you do this challenge!
Yes, without Rods message, I would have got the wrong bridge. Local knowledge is everything! It was exceptionally hot when I was in Tasmania, I got totally fried most days, you wouldn't know it to look at the videos, but the burn in the sun was incredibly challenging. The UV levels were through the roof in Tasmania! Something about a hole in the ozone layer I believe.
Such a lovely video and so happy you were able to find the bridge. Very nice of Rod to get the images for you.

So nice to see this film.
I have threaded that icy cold water and walked under this bridge barefooted with Rod.

Rod was a great help with this episode. I also have another secret mission for him, should he choose to accept it :)
