This was like listening to Books on Tape! What a beautifully told story! I had never read the St. Joseph of Cupertino story- only that he would levitate! What hope he gives for those who manifest anger with their ailments! God bless and protect them. When Joseph called himself Brother Ass, I couldn’t help but wonder if someone called him that first. May God embrace those who suffer from mental deficiencies or illness.

God certainly looks at how a person uses his natural gifts, whether the gifts are buried, or used for good, or used for ill, or used for selfish ends. So yes, natural gifts in that sense do matter very much.

He's a Patron Saint of my grandchildren who have Tourette Syndrome. No, it's not the "swearing thing." It's a neurological condition that causes tics, which may be motor (movements) or vocal (repeating certain words, phrases, or sounds). Both types may be present. It's classified as a syndrome because there are common co-morbidities that may be present in any combination. However, one common trait that isn't considered to be a co-morbidity is genuine compassion for others. I very often hear from moms of kids with TS that their child has a huge heart and great concern for the well-being of others. I've noticed it in my grandchildren as well. It's unusual kindness. Bear in mind that I've raised children, and I've worked with thousands of children over 30 years in school classrooms. My own children were kind, but not unusually so. I suppose it's possible that this unusual compassion in TS may be part of the condition, so it could be a technical co-morbidity, but a positive one.
3 Aves for the priest 🌹🌹🌹🙏🏻 and for Steve 🌹🌹🌹🙏🏻 that this channel may be for the Lord's work ✝️📿🙏🏻
St. Joseph Cupertino, pray for my grandchildren, and all with TS, autism, and similar disorders, for students who need help, and for us all 🙏🏻

I loved the movie. Quite strange that the saint was played by Maximillian Schell who often played a Gestapo in many other movies, in other words, bad guys. At the beginning of the movie, I could not relate to him because of his past roles, but as the movie continued, I saw him as St Joseph.

I had never heard if this saint. Someone gave me the prayer before an exam. I ran out of paper. I asked the teacher for extra paper. She gave me the extra paper and one sheet had the answer to the very question that I was struggling with. I guess I cheated and I don’t feel good about that. I went on to become a teacher myself with the help of St Joseph of Cupertino.

Father great homily on a great saint. I go to mass at OLMC and get to hear your homilies first hand and they are always awesome. I have a story to relay about this saint, it is a little long.
I first heard about this saint on a children's cartoon series found on TH-cam called "Saints" and something just hit me like a ton of bricks when I saw his story. I have had the good fortune to have fallen in love with two incredible women (one died of melanoma years ago (God Rest her Soul) and the other is my current wife, who has the patience of Job to put up with me) and when I saw that little cartoon I fell in love a third time (albeit in a significantly different way). I have always admired and prayed to Saint Michael, and of course, being of Irish extraction Saint Patrick but those were not like this saint. This one hit me right between the eyes. I literally could not stop thinking about this saint and I sought out story after story about him (including this homily). The "relic roadshow" (my paraphrase of it forgot what it was called) came to town and I went to it, the priest giving the talk said we should let a saint talk to us. I had him talk to me about a month earlier and I was super eager to have a third-class relic from him, my wedding band and my Saint Michael metal were made into third-class relics first hand by contacting every one of those relics. But I already had my saint. Shortly after the cartoon, I watched "The Reluctant Saint" which I really liked (Ricardo Montalban....rocked his role as he always did) but it is badly inaccurate.
Anyway back to the real story.... As you all are dealing with them the Vax Mandates hit me....then I got mandated...then I had an idea, I bet interviews would be just the same as an exam as far as he is concerned. So I started asking him for a successful interview (I had been at the same job for almost 20 years who can interview after 20 YEARS). Well, he did not disappoint. I got two good interviews (out of 2 done one with a solid offer I could take) out of it. So long story short...this saint is POWERFUL for these sorts of things. I think job interviews should be added to his list of things he is a patron of. When you think about it, what he did with his Bible verse, was pretty much a job interview. So in this time of mandates do not be fearful, ask this powerful intercessor for help. After things settle down here I am going to have to make a newspaper credit thing for him, this can suffice until I can do that.
Oh and btw...I also asked him for help concerning the Vac Mandate Inquisition. He helped there too.

I have to say I don't find it particularly miraculous that for his exam he was asked about the one chapter he knew and verse he could expound upon.
To me that says that his monastic brothers cared for him and asked what they knew he could answer because they did not want him to fail for whatever reason

Bad temper? Makes sense if he was frustrated from no one understanding him, and being bullied and rejected by others including family members. I believe St. Joseph did not have a character flaw. He had maladaptive coping skills and hated himself as result of his upbringing.
