Sometimes it seems like they joke around his unique ideas but they clearly give more attention when he explains something especially in serious situations. I've seen in lot of time when V was being less interactive or quiet they encourage him to speak. Not just for V, they are like that for all members.

To answer your question about if you’re ARMY yet, that’s really for you to answer. We can tell you if you’re NOT ARMY, that’s easy.
Here’s some questions and thoughts to help you figure it out:
      1. Do you really like/love all 7 members? It seems like you personally really like them all & dig their dynamic personalities & how they bond with each other & ARMY. (Note: It’s ok to have a bias (fave) in the group but it’s not ok to exclude/ignore any one of them.)
      2. Do you feel a connection to them? Their message? Their vibe? Their brotherhood? Their Music? Their performances?
      3. Do they make you happy or feel things you haven’t felt before? Inspiration of some sort? Do you like watching & talking about them? It seems that you do.
      4. Do you support them by streaming &/or buying their music &/or official merch? ARMY wants them to have a long career & we happily support our boys dreams as they help us focus on ours. Do you feel like they’re also your boys? Your guys?
      5. Do you feel like you’ve gone down a never ending rabbit hole? 😂 You only wanted to know their names but now you want to know everything…?! Hehehe 😜

V's facial expressions tend to get people to misunderstand him. He did say it is one of his worries. When he smiles, he looks very approachable, but when he's expressionless, sometimes, even as a fan, he looks like he's planning murder. But he is a softie on the inside. At least, from what can be seen on camera. He actually cries the most too. Also, he is one of the members who changed the most since debut. Not in a bad way. In the older days, you'll be surprised to see Tae when he was in his teens or his very early twenties, because he was an absolute goofball. He used to joke around all the time, he was still very "weird" and the members called him "alien" in terms of his thinking, but he was so funny. He played pranks all the time. And at one point, he started changing. It might be due to a lot of things. I mean, BTS got a lot of hate, death threats, and it probably would have been very upsetting for a teen to hear those words. And then his grandparents passed away whom he thought of as his parents, and then he lost another friend to suicide. I think this was when he really started to change. He's still very sweet and smiles a lot and laughs a lot, but he definitely changed quite a bit.

you summed it all up perfectly! I hate when people phrase tae's change as something negative, that there's something "wrong" with him because of how different he is now, compared to before. I think we as fans should stop dissecting him and instead just let him continue to grow into the person he is now, and the person he is going to be. he was amazing then, and he is equally as amazing now! though he's definitely quite the character, I'll say. out of all 7 of the members, whom I'd label as clay made into for instance vases of different colours, shapes, and sizes, to me, taehyung is the only one who seems to embody clay that has not yet hardened, clay that is still possible to mold. he's like a puzzle sometimes man I love it

I think probably the reason, Taehyung (V) got a little tense with Jin is that he felt he wasn't being heard or taken seriously and like Jin said, his pride got hurt from being criticized. After this fight, it's so sweet to see how much they truly listened to each other because I can see at moments when they both recognize what the other might be feeling. In certain instances, you can see if Taehyung hasn't spoken or someone talks over him, Jin tends to try to get the attention on Taehyung so he can finally speak. Then with Jin, when he tends to get self deprecating or insecure about something, Taehyung is the first to compliment Jin or tell him he did great.

@@cloverthv I definitely felt like V was at fault for starting this talk and very specifically pointing out this issue when Jin wasn't at fault with the choreo. This was choreo they had already performed and Jin danced to it perfectly, and that's why he pushed back. And in the footage Jin wasn't joking at all, he was fighting back saying he didn't think he did badly like V was claiming. There was probably footage in the middle where Jin tried to diffuse the situation with a joke, which he always tries to do to get rid of tension, but V was already so upset and got more upset that Jin would joke at a time like that. Jin has said that sometime he tries to joke to make the mood lighter but then people misunderstand and he can make people feel worse which was not his intention. It was only at the end of the clip, and in later interviews, that the members brought up Jin joking. V mentions Jin joking and making him feel like he didn't take what V was saying seriously, but this was not at the start of their argument and the 'joking' wasn't something that was ever shown on screen. We never saw Jin joking or taking what V said lightly. We did see him arguing back though and fighting for what he thought was right. It was also so mature of Jin to apologize and you could tell he was really trying his best to correct the argument at this point so it wouldn't get bigger and continue to affect the concert. It looked like he was trying to throw everything at that situation to make it better because I think he realized at that point arguing with V was not worth it. He saw the bigger picture and decided to apologize. What I took from this was definitely that Jin was trying to push back on what he thought was unfair criticism and V getting upset that he was not listening to him at all, and when the argument blew up I don't think V was in a good place to be able to sort out his emotions which is something we can all sympathize with when we feel so overwhelmed and we don't feel good but can't get out of that mindset. Plus everyone was feeling stressed before the concert, this was all within 30 minutes of the start of the concert, so Jin was probably stressed too?!, especially since we know how insecure he is about his dancing. And we know since then V has always been his biggest champion for Jin's dancing. So both of the boys were very tense and just trying to point out what they thought was correct and wanted to be heard and taken seriously. It was actually more shocking to me that it happened so close to the beginning of the concert. Must have been tense for the whole band, and even the staff there.

@@endxofxeternity I feel that Jin only apologized about making a “joke” to use it as a medium- in order to apologize. If he did make a joke, Tae would absolutely have expressed that as a major reason as to “why” he’d get upset. Tae didn’t mention anything about this at all, instead his issue was on Jin saying “but I’m doing my best” repeatedly. So in my POV, Jin just said this as a quick go-to in order to apologize. His skills are his skills. It was “minutes” before the concert, that’s probably why he kept saying “I’m doing my best..” Jin’s apology for making a joke, for me, was a way of masking his insecurity which I feel was tapped by Tae’s insisting he adjust his learned move on the spot. It was giving him extra pressure on top of the actual pressure. Just in my opinion, I commend Jin (who’s the Hyung) taking the high road so to speak and apologizing, I feel it would have been better if Tae also apologized for whatever he caused his Jin Hyung and the group, for whatever it’s worth..but then again, I’m proud of all of them, and this brotherhood wouldn’t have grown to what it is now, if they didn’t go through these real life “roller coasters.”

When Jin told about his pride as a elder person, I can understand that. Jin always makes jokes and he is funny. That's how most people know him but this isn't his real side. Jin himself gets depressed very often. You can know that from his self-produced songs like Tonight and Abyss. But he hides that side. He doesn't want people feel sad because of him. So, he is cheerful and extroverted only in front of camera. He admitted that too once in his interview. Early years of their debut, Jin was a very quiet member just like Suga. Even members said that. He becomes funny and cheerful after their Fire comeback in 2016. He said he changed because of members and ARMYs. Although his family is rich, he had to face so many problems cuz people tell he had no skill. RM said that they once made fun of him cuz he looked awkward back then. People think he is really confident. Yes, he is but not in every aspect. He isn't confident about his dancing and singing although he's great. That's why he wrote and sings the song " Abyss " to express his real feelings through his music. He said he wants people to listen his songs but at the same time he doesn't want them to listen to them cuz his songs are sad and emotional. Jin is described as a K-pop idol who cares about mental health and emotional stuff the most in whole K-pop industry. His songs help people to love themselves and not to worry to express our pain. If you want to know about him more, please react to " Kim SeokJin : A documentary ". Thanks for reacting and analyzing about BTS.

So true. It's more meaningful when someone so bright and stoic comes out to talk about their mental health and struggles in a very level headed way. Like these are issues that affect all of us and it's okay to be going through things. And he encourages us to speak up if we're struggling.

So, the fact that Jin is the one who apologized is really a big thing, considering his pride as the oldest. But i'm really glad that after this happened, their bond are stronger. Yes, Jin is very good at knowing his position in the formation. However, he does not like to see anyone unhappy, so he must have seen the hurt on Vs face after the dispute which led him to apologize. It didn't matter who is in the wrong, what matters is mending the hurt feelings and learning from them. I remember Jin saying in an interview there are some people you can do certain jokes with and some you can not (because of having a different mindset). Wow! I still have to watch the video but I have to say this is an amazing pick!
This is the first and only - in their 8 year long career - serious fight in front of cameras, which says a lot because they are always being filmed. But hey that doesn't meand they just don't fight. The members are like family to each other, but even families fight! We are all humans after all.
BTS shared on multiple ocassions that they used to fight more before they debuted (2013) because they were all young, didn't understand each other and didn't know how to relieve stress, but now that rarely happens.
They and their CEO also shared that their method to solve fights is to sit down and talk about it as a group even if only a few members are involved. The CEO encouraged this method and also told them it's okay to have fights, that real conflict occurs when fights don't happen.

He was not in the wrong but he apologized first. The way he maintained his composure is impressive. especially right before a concert.. Also being the oldest is a Huge thing in korea. and taehyung put him on the spot in front of everyone, not just their team but the cameramen etc.

This exactly. The respect thing is always underappreciated among I-army as it's not a thing in the western world. But it'd be like if your father apologized to you for something he didn't really do. As an Asian it's not something you see. It was big of Jin to admit it and reach out to V to mitigate the situation. He's always so stoic even though he jokes. He takes his job as an entertainer seriously and is always trying to diffuse the tension in the air so when it got directed at him in such a situation I completely understand where he is coming from. And Jin is known as someone who will stand up for himself and his people if he feels he is being unjustly attacked. I think the joking part happened later because Jin was trying to diffuse the situation but then V took it even worse that Jin would joke at a time like this when he was already upset. And so Jin apologized for joking. But at the start V was definitely going at him and I can't imagine any scenario where Jin would just bow his head and accept that when he knew he didn't do anything wrong.

This exchange is what made me fall for BTS. I hadn’t even heard a song yet when I watched this. I’m a dancer in a group of five females and I understand the pressure of wanting to get it right and at times becoming emotional. I remember watching this and thinking OMG these are 7 men who sat down and had an open and honest discussion after 2 had a disagreement. The respect for boundaries and for each other and their emotional intelligence was so refreshing to watch and something I crave from my ALL my relationship. There was no yelling and no toxic masculinity like I’m used to seeing in arguments between men. To me it seemed like more of a discussion between two brothers that that dealt with before they went to sleep. Now knowing this was something BangPD required of them instead of letting them bury their issues made me respect BigHit as a whole.

I believe maturity comes with life experience and not with age. Seokjin is someone who entered the idol industry at the age of 20. He already had a life before joining BTS unlike others. Truly was moved by seokjin's personality when this fight occurred cause never have I seen a man who apologize when he was not at fault at all. This shows his Mature mindset. Seokjin could have been cold and ruthless by arguing but instead he chose to be the bigger person. Circumstances like this shows that he isn't someone to be influenced by false stereotypes and opinions about him. He knows himself very well but also it's sad that people around him take his selfless nature for granted.

I also want to point out that this was in 2017, a very stressful year for them. As they began seriously promoting in the west and attending shows and events never done by any other kpop group before them, they were also being heavily criticized by both kpop fans and the Western music industry. RM has mentioned this as one of their hardest years before, and we can see here that they were under a lot of pressure. You should definitely check out their Artist of the Year acceptance speech from MAMA 2018. They were incredibly honest and vulnerable about how they almost disbanded early 2018. They were experiencing a lot of hardships at that time, and I would not be surprised if the stress from taking on the Western music industry and its prejudices played a part.

One of the things that I think is glossed over from this incident is that Jin directly says that he tries not to hold his age over their heads, but he was feeling disrespected from the way V was talking to him. SInce then, when there have been minor squabbles in the group, when a member starts using banmal towards Jin when getting excited, he will interject and say things like, i know tensions are high, but remember to speak correctly. • @lixjoonhoneymt7149
    @lixjoonhoneymt7149 3 ปีที่แล้ว +31

so another aspect of this has to do with Korean culture and it’s language as a whole
first i’ll give age order for the members + birth years
    Jin / SeokJin - 1992
    Suga / YoonGi- 1993
    JHope / HoSeok- 1994
    RM / NamJoon - 1994
    Jimin - 1995
    V / TaeHyung - 1995
    JungKook - 1997
the aspect of elder respect is very much enforced within the culture and language of Korea, literally sentence structure and words change depending on the amount of respect someone automatically assumes (dependent on their relation to the speaker)
for example and younger sibling will not be able to talk to an older sibling in the same manner that the older speaks to the younger, but said manner of speaking (grammatically and the the actual vocab) wouldn’t be spoken to other family members such as grandparents
also they tend to “beat around the bush” when speak… this is another form of politeness, they tend to make sentences sound ambiguous, verbose, and indirect, sometimes it can even direct translate to a question for english speakers… what this can means is that when someone is being direct (when they aren’t a foreigner) it can be seen as rude and disrespectful
while Taehyung was literally being direct and what would be seen and as the “mature” thing to do in such a situation, when taking into account their culture Jin could be on the defense because in their Language Tae is being “rude” and not respectful… in Korean it could be seen as Taehyung “attacking” Jin instead of critiquing him.
+ plus all the tension were high since they were in the middle of a concert, in costume change and had 10 min left to get to their positions to get onto stage
**sorry this is really hard to word in English

In my opinion, he doesn't really know how his words can affect others, and in the heat of the moment, he ends up saying things that he regrets later. It's very important to recognize Jin's status as the eldest. And it's important to recognize that criticism of his dancing possibly strikes where he is most vulnerable. I think Taehyung feels such a bond with Jin and places such importance on a good performance that these 2 previous points slipped from how he approached Jin with what should have been a request or recommendation, rather than something so easily perceived as criticism. At the same time, Taehyung wanted to be taken seriously. Jin's maturity, in the end, is remarkable and worthy of the hyung of the group. This was such a wonderful example of how misunderstandings can be resolved and, ultimately, relationships not only saved but strengthened when these moments of discomfort are faced.

rm and jin appreciation!!! tae is my bias and it broke my heart to see him cry, but rm and jin did so well here. props to them, leader and the hyung at such early ages being so mature. especially jin, he's only a few months older than suga but still takes it to himself to act as the oldest one, he prioritized his brothers over his pride. kudos!!

  • @lillyess385

The reason why Jin probably took it personally when V criticized his performance is that Jin is a bit insecure about his dancing. Jin gets a lot of static about his dancing skills. There's also a cultural age dynamic going on between V and Jin. As the eldest member, Jin "out ranks" the whole team and to apologize to V, a younger member, is a big deal. V is a sincere and honest person and sometimes that can come off abrasive.

    • @dkinla3408
      @dkinla3408 3 ปีที่แล้ว +32

I really feel for both of them here. Because V is just trying to fix a performance issue by sincerely bringing it up to Jin without making him feel criticized & Jin does feel criticized & goes on the defense. So he feels defeated and poor Jin, who is not a natural dancer, who practices alone in his room for hours after their group practaces, must find it so hard to hear "criticism " about his dancing.
But the fact that Jin apologized to his junior and put his hand on Tae's shoulder while apologizing, was very big of him. And Tae was hurt because he didnt feel heard & I think he felt bad for it becoming such a big thing right before starting a concert & he certainly didn't mean to hurt Jin's feelings...it made him feel bad. So of course he cried. But they got through it & their friendship is all the stronger for it!
Just another reason to love them.💜

In a world where media shows us mainly negative side of humanity with their news, politics, health and more, BTS is the prove that we can do better. They show us that our behavior, self love and respect to others has infinite repercussions and inspire, motivate and create a domino effect that eventually comes back at you, your life and spread around. They were meant to be there in the public eye to show us this is posible. I'm learning so much trough them that I just want to be a good human being like them. I’m laughing out loud because that was literally me. It took me about two months to go from “okay, I don’t know if this guy is the leader but he speaks the most English” to “ah, my boy, Jimin!” 😂
Now I know all of their voices etc so well that I never wonder which member is which. It’s crazy to think that since they have so much recorded content of them being “behind the scenes” like this that it’s so easy to feel connected to them after such a short amount of time. I love the respect that you have for them!!!! 💜💜💜
Please continue to do BTS content, it’s so awesome to watch someone break down the facts on why they’re so popular - that on top of the skills they’re just such respectable and admirable guys who are so open with each other and their fans that we *can’t* not understand and care for them.

The part of the choreo that the fight was about was in the bridge. The rest of the group is still and Tae and Jin are having a moment. In the dear class of 2020 performance of this song, spring day, they are sitting down and not dancing. Tae and Jin are sitting next to each other. During that exact part of the song Tae pulls Jin close and their foreheads touch. Those two bonking foreheads seem to be their thing(hello So What). I think Tae was trying to make sure Jin was happy in this moment and not thinking about the fight, even though it was years ago.

There are two thing I noticed as you said in this argument. One being V felt as though he’s not being heard. He’s the second youngest in the group. Other being Jin felt as though he’s attacked, it’s kind of not easy being the eldest. He probably felt like he’s being pushed around cuz he normally just takes it easy without saying anything back. At that time with the pressure to perform well (cuz they pretty much give everything they have for each performance) those suppressed feelings/emotions came out.
In a way I’m glad this happened and we got to see it cuz this teaches us that any kind of relationship could have moments like this and it doesn’t have to end badly. You can take sometime and talk about it to solve it. This proved it cuz now Jin and V are in really good terms always encouraging each other, being there for each other. All members are the same. Even Suga who seems distant from emotions (I think it’s a trait he picked from his father) have his own way of being there for the members. Like a small pat on the back or a nod, give something without like looking at that person as if to say don’t care if you take or not but inside he does.

The thing about BTS and the connection with their fans is that it is in fact very genuine, if not 100% then at the very least 80% because it has been 8 years in this industry, 8 years of interaction with fans. Someone who is not genuine and putting on an act is bound to slip up and fans are not dumb creatures, it will be easy to catch them falling down the slope. They can see that these boys are honest and that is why the fanbase is so large and loyal. These men, despite being showered with so much love and standing so high up in the industry, never slack. They never do things half-heartedly, be it their performance or their honesty.
