I wasn't a fan of the sequel I only saw it once, but I also saw The Patriot, The Day After Tomorrow and 2012 which were entertaining. I basically just see his movies knowing it's going to be insane unrealistic action. Moonfall looks so crazy and your review was so funny it makes me want to see it.

I saw this movie last Friday. In order to enjoy this movie, you have to lower your expectations all the way down. Moonfall is literally like a very stupid version of Star Wars. It's hard to believe that an actual studio greenlighted this movie. Even the movie itself doesn't take itself seriously (in certain parts). But, I must admit that Moonfall will give you one thing: escapism. But also, this movie is proof that Roland Emmerich is not a good director. Independence Day was a huge blockbuster Box Office success in spite of his direction.

I disagree with this even doing well in China now. Although the CGI and special effects there are still not at the level of what you see in stuff like Dune or some of the better MCU films, it has certainly improved quite a bit in the last decade to a point where it is good enough to just make their own space movies with an entire Chinese cast instead of just settling for the one token Chinese person in a big Hollywood production.

I saw the first (very comedic) trailer and thought this movie was a parody of s Roland Emmerich movie. I was actually interested in seeing it. The subsequent trailers and learning this was an actual Emmerich movie killed my interest.
