In olden days, most Indians use to wear turbans (of course with different styles). So turban is not just about Sikhs. Few examples, S. Radhakrishnan (ex. vice president of India) used to adorn turban. Similarly Bal Gangadhar Tilak (freedom fighter) too used turban. Both were Hindus.
Its mainly the order of maya, through which the society wants you to dress a certain way , look a bit similar , nothing unique , its just the difference between the hairstyles of a aghori/sadhu which the sikh culture accepts , also its the natural growth of your hair that symbolizes how it shows or goes around ...common ppl as a whole dont just keep their hair uncased , its our difference from their kind
It's not to factor in the showoff factor, of like oh yaar hes wearing a turban toh mota mota jatt ya sikh hi hoga Its not as normalized as it used to be at around the ancient ages
