Reading Al Mulk's letter can also be used as a prayer to avoid the torment of the grave. As told by Abdullah bin Mas'ud RA's friend, reading Al Mulk's letter is an effort to gain salvation from the torment of hellfire. Rasulullah SAW said,
من قَرَأَ ( تبَارك الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْملك ) كل لَيْلَة مَنعه الله به َا من عَذَاب الْقَبْر
Meaning: "Whoever reads Al Mulk's letter every night, Allah SWT will save him from the torment of the grave with that letter," (HR An Nasa'i).
