This is a stupid ending to a cool character and setup and exploration. I’m all for letting characters get in trouble but he didn’t even get his feet under him. He was a bit reckless and Koibu should have guided him to some safety so we could have a campaign.
@@moistnugget4147 I have played a ton of role playing games- character death is one hundred percent on the line and MAKES the game. This wasn’t worth the investment of time and to feel him learning his character without some DM guardrails, not plot armor (which is generally intellectually insulting). Koibu put a ton of time into this character, this adventure. Jeff was just getting his feet wet. There wasn’t even time to mourn his arc. It’s just a waste of effort. TO me. YMMV, of course.

I think what makes the intensity is realizing that a character actually could die, and there's no plot armor here
