So regarding sourdough starter, I put a hair tie (or rubberband) on my jar and can move it up as you go, so all of your jars don’t end up with black marks! Happy Baking! 🍞 🥯 🥖 🧇🥞
One other thing about sourdough, document the loaves and temps and weather. You will find that humidity plays a big part in sourdough. Also the different flours will affect the loaves as well. Keep track of it all in a small notebook for reference. Happy baking! 🍞

Curious if you’ve heard of friendship bread. It too comes from starter. Definitely doesn’t taste like sour dough. It’s maybe a more sweet bread, cake, muffin, pancake type starter. If you ever want to try that. Love you have a new hobby that brings you so much joy.
I've heard that you aren't supposed to use the latches while you're cooking 😊 When you use them during cooking, extra steam gets trapped inside the slow cooker, which can trap too much moisture. They are only for transportation to push the lid against the gaskets and prevent spills. However, when in doubt, refer to the manual.
I make sourdough! You can make your own dehydrated starter. I encourage you to do that just in case something happens to your starter. It's really easy.

Hahahaha, I think it might be?! I baked it in a dutch oven! The longer you let it "bulk ferment" the more sour the taste will be, we've been experimenting with fermenting time to see what we like best.
A Disney must for us around Xmas is to see the Voices of Liberty in Epcot American building- they are Amazing 💕 and our favorite place to eat in Epcot is the Biergarten restaurant so so delicious!

Also, when I started sourdough, I was super precise with measurements. Then you kind of figure things out and dont measure. Women have been making sourdough for hundreds of years and never had scales so yeah, I'm kind of somewhere in the middle also.
Your sourdough looks so yummy! I’ve really been wanting to do a sourdough starter but my family is gluten free so I need to do some research on how to make that happen.
If your family is not severely allergic to gluten, a lot of gluten-free folks can eat sourdough without any issues due to the fermentation process! I have several friends who are gluten-free and regularly make and consume sourdough bread and other baked goods! Something to look into for sure!
