This video shows the most electrifying cast I've seen singing one of the challenging musical pieces in theatrical history while moving and dancing around
Oh my Gosh... I remember watching this clip like three to four years ago, and I still can't believe how Laura is so good at both singing and looking good. She is just so amazing. :)
The letter dance at first seems impossible to learn, but it does just suddenly click with you, muscle memory is a powerful thing, took me less than a week.
+PandaProductions : We had to remember the lyrics to this song in public school 1st grade when the film came out and had to sing it solo. I was 5 YO. Along with all of the other songs from the film. The brothers Sherman were brilliant. Can you imagine the outcry if that was required nowadays? Oh my.
I also saw this on Broadway in May. It was Superfantabulous! lol I personally loved it :) and i also freak people out by spelling/singing this song! Pretty awesome!
i saw this cast when they were in Oxford before they went to the West End, it was their practice run before going to the West End, so i saw them before they got famous, was amazing!
First movie I sat in front of the tv for the whole thing without budging. I saw this play yesterday... It was different than the original movie and the way they are doing this song is differenty than the production I saw... But it was the same actors... Though Julie Andrews will always be my fav Mary Poppins :3
@jazzykins2010 I watched the film this afternoon. I actually think this version of the song is better than the original - probably because it spells the word, and also she says it backwards properly, rather than merely reversing the order of the syllables.
@xmarie11 This was when Laura was playing the role in the West End. Gavin Lee is playing Bert in this performance. Christian Borle is currently Bert on Broadway.
i love this song i got to see mary poppins this summer on broadway it was so AWESOME and i leanred this dance at a mary poppins workshop i was so bad at the spelling when we did it really fast we completly falied when we saw the actors were mocking us when we tried to do the dance at r seats but it was fun
Carrie Hope Fletcher is still doing theatre now, and this was one of her last theatre roles as a child, it really sticks with you as she still remembers how to spell it
Laura Michelle Kelly Mary Poppins Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Gavin Lee Bert Mary Poppins The Musical Original London West End Prince Edward Theatre Covent Garden United Kingdom
We teach you how to spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious forwards and backwards as well as the most common misspelt words with The secret spell to spelling'' strategy on our channel.
For the school ballet our dance teacher is making everyone in our class learn the spelling for the audition. I've learned it and now my hands and arms hurt. I was practicing longer then i expected.
@aasquenazi She says it backwards. Someone once said they prefer the way Julie Andrews did it, but this is in fact the correct way - Julie Andrews only reversed the order of the syllables, not every letter.
well, have u seen any other of the mary poppins on broadway. i have seen it two times and i might even see it a 3rd over the summer. so first, u should watch all other marry poppins be4 giving ur opinion. u see, i have...
Unless you've even made an attempt to see the show, I suggest you don't make a cooment like that. Laura Michelle Kelly, who's playing "Mary Poppins" in this, won an Olivier Award for "Best Actress in a Musical". So, until you've seen the show, please for the love of god judge the show or performers.
Laura Michelle Kelly is so fabulous and I love the way she says "Oh, Bert!"

+PandaProductions : We had to remember the lyrics to this song in public school 1st grade when the film came out and had to sing it solo. I was 5 YO. Along with all of the other songs from the film. The film version is different, but having heard it before I can understand how difficult it would've been for a 1st grader to learn it.
True, true. But I'm still proud that I can still remember it, especially with my goldfish memory.
***** : Especially if you learn it to save your aching nose and also get invited out to tea.
***** : I've been quietly whistling and singing this song the past day. Goldurn genius Sherman bros.

i saw this cast when they were in Oxford before they went to the West End, it was their practice run before going to the West End, so i saw them before they got famous, was amazing!
They were in Bristol for their trial run, so wish I was old enough to have seen it and lived in the UK

@jazzykins2010 I watched the film this afternoon. I actually think this version of the song is better than the original - probably because it spells the word, and also she says it backwards properly, rather than merely reversing the order of the syllables.
Even though the lyrics are different i think that was brilliant.Especially the ending.

Different productions have different "letter dances" so some are easier to learn than others. :-) Practice practice practice :-)
I can’t hear Laura’s beautiful voice over the sounds of the kids singing
''she may be tricky but she's bloody good'' haha!! thats funny!
"But it doesn't mean anything!"
"It can mean exactly what you want it to!"
1:10 - 1:12 perhaps she made it up ("Saving Mr Banks" reference)
