I may look white, but my family heritage through my mother's family is Inuit. I can trace my mother's family back 8 generations to where my 8g-grandfather, and other great grandfathers married into the Inuit of Labrador. I am Pansexual and support my Transgender Daughter and my other Daughter who is Pansexual, (attracted to men and women who were born that way or transitioned to the person they see themselves as). Both my daughters refer themselves as Two Spirited, as I do. As the only editor for, Coming Out or Support Canada (english), I shared this page.

I am glad to see minds and hearts are changing on Native lands and tribes. It’s sad that some two spirit Natives feel less hatred in non Native society than in their home lands! The two spirit youth who are making a stand and staying home have unbelievable strength. We need more elders who can see that hate from non Natives is the same as hate from Natives towards two spirits! As a two spirit who lives in a very traditional Native community amongst the Iroquois, I don’t feel accepted from my people. I feel more accepted from the non Native community. I see this slowly changing amongst the youth and that makes me happy.

Elder Ma-Nee Chacaby's autobiography is a wonderful book, I believe it's called "Two Spirit."
