Guilty was the title track of Taemin's first album after his lengthy military service (almost 2 years). He went all out to show that he is truly back and better than ever :)

Taemin has talked about the literature that inspired this concept: Erotism: Death and Sensuality by Georges Bataille and Demian by Hermann Hesse.
Love that Taemin decided to do things his own way with his own colors. I don't see anyone else doing this concept, or even the way in which he does it. Just stunning! Great reaction

"Guilty" was very much a "Taemin cliche" because he is very deliberately referencing his own history and it's a lot of the vibe he's always had. I personally find that it's good to watch the "Guilty" teaser trailer Taemin released so you can see the full narrative. It's not 100% necessary to understand the MV but it does make the story fuller. The trailer has a very "nostalgic youthful summer" vibe at first and then pivots into semi-religious, psychological horror. In "Guilty," Taemin seeks to explore the connection between violence, death, sex, and voyeuristic desire using the philosophical ideas from the books "Demian" by Hermann Hesse and "Erotism: Death and Sensuality" by Georges Bataille. Taemin also used "Demian" as a reference when creating the NGDA album. He has mentioned these inspirations in interviews and behind the scenes material.
A lot of people, including myself, feel like the lyrics of the song are speaking from the POV of a toxic/abusive lover while Taemin in the MV is being filmed as if he's the lover being abused/manipulated. So you have Taemin positioning himself as both the Victim and the Victimizer in the fictionalized relationship referenced in the song. It becomes a little more conceptual and metaphorical when experiencing the music video through that idea.
Interestingly, Taemin uses a similar Victim/Victimizer portrayal with one of his older songs called "Criminal" so many think of this release as somewhat of a follow-up or response to that song. The difference is that in "Criminal," the lyrics were from the POV of the Victim while the MV was from the POV of both Victim and Victimizer. He also referenced "Demian" during the "Never Gonna Dance Again" album (the album that "Criminal" is one of the title tracks for) which further makes me think "Guilty" and "Criminal" are connected even if only in concept interpretation.

BUT, as much I would love to give you a whole long list of his amazing discography (he has the most vast discography in the industry, he is not the type to repeat himself)- I was intrigued that you said you love the sound of guitar, and Taemin has some stunning acoustic songs. He plays piano too, but check out "Day & Night" and "Never Forever" as a start. A beautiful SHINee (his group) acoustic song is Honesty. They are all chill R & B-ish, and something you never get tired of listening to.

im a little late but if you go into txts album you’ll see that they have a anemoia remix of deja vu and the remix is that ending part of the mv where you said they should’ve incorporated it somewhere into the song. lol idk if it that makes sense but hopefully you get it
