Anyone with basic knowledge or experience knows all the material/components, if one doesn't, he/she/it doesn't qualify to make one.
Bike cable however should atleast be lubricated and is not suitable for this application as it cannot withstand rough usage specially it will handle rotation in one direction only. Good for wood tho
