agree. There are some proponents of intermittent fasting who promote the idea that you can eat anything you want during your eating window. Or at least, that they themselves eat anything they want and they still lost weight and maintained it. I don't think most people can get away with this, especially not me.
@@jenniferb4118 My impression of those who found they did get away with it, 1) only got away with it in the beginning, and 2) were people who basically ate and drank calorific drinks, all day every day, before they started IF. If they went from doing that, to only eating within a window, they would have seen changes, but only if they didn't gorge in that window, aka cram in the same amount as they would have eaten over 16 hours or whatever. It's also possible that the people who make videos and claim it works, aren't being honest. They know that everyone wants to be able to do and eat whatever they want and be fit and healthy (I mean who doesn't lol), and that means a lot of views. But like a lot of things online, especially on social media, there are many people who are flat-out lying, in order to profit off of it.
True. Although I used to be obsessive about running/weights etc so even though I love food and I would really indulge I was my most fit when I exercised obsessively. Right now though I have to get back to being strict with everything to get back where I was. I hate it!! Lol

I work out too much to eat the way autumn eats. Oatmeal has been a wonderful food for me so I would take this with a grain of salt. Buckwheat is another amazing alternative
I don’t break my fast with cereal. However, I do use cereal as a treat for myself, on occasion. I used to eat cereals like peanut butter Captain Crunch. Now, I eat a small bowl of Grape Nuts as a treat.
I have made the “meat pizza” out of Greek yogurt eggs and chicken along with some spices, and it is really good and high in protein ! Also I topped mine with tomato and cottage cheese with basil 😋
I bought your protein powder. Its really good, i drink a lot of smoothies and have tried nearly every non super processed protein powder. Yours is among my favorites. 😊😊😊
My husband used to make pizza crust out of chicken. He loved it. It definitely didn’t taste like pizza necessarily, but it was good! The food processor was disgusting though. 😂
What are your thoughts on Quest's protein pizzas? The pepperoni one has 56 g of protein and 14 net carbs for the entire pizza. Just wondering if the fiber content that gets the net carbs so low is actually healthful even though the crust is still made with refined flours.
Hello Autumn Thank you for your helpful videos. I’m working on losing weight and you have been helping me. I want to share the skinny margarita recipe my husband Bobby invented. This video is so helpful! I always struggle in the morning without caffeine ... black coffee and green tea make me sick. I tried for months and just can't stomach them! Any tips?
Can you digest another kind of tea, other than green? There's lots of kinds out there, which might react differently in your stomach. It might be a number of things in the green tea that your stomach objects to, from the tannins to the processing. I would recommend 1) only drinking quality loose-leaf tea (the stuff in the bags is nearly always inferior), and 2) trying black tea, pu-erh or oolong. Even among those 3 kinds there are several methods for each. If you do decide to try loose-leaf tea, be sure to look up how to properly brew it (if you don't already know of course), as it makes a BIG difference. Definitely try the gongfu method, which is the traditional Chinese way of drinking tea. Not to do the whole ceremony (unless it's your jam) but for how to brew the tea--rinsing it in particular makes loose leaf tea much nicer to drink, and takes the harshness away. 🙂
@@celticlass8573 I agree with all of this, completely! Also, regarding the brewing method.... even just cutting the brewing time for both black and green tea down to just 1-2 minutes can make it far less bitter and more palatable. You still get the wonderful taste of the tea, but it's much milder. I still can't get over how a lot of black teas say to steep for 5 min - I can't stomach that at all since it always turns out way too strong and bitter. Keep experimenting! Tea is great!
@@jenniferb4118 Yeah I can't either, and honestly it doesn't taste more full-bodied, just stronger., which is pretty weird That's another reason why I do gongfu--you use more tea leaves, but after the rinse, you steep for only a few seconds, depending on the tea, and get a much fuller and more enjoyable flavour. Plus you also get more brews from the leaves, if you want more.
I love pho. What are your thoughts on Konjac noodles? I love them as they absorb the flavor of what you are cooking them in. Super low carb count per serving.
I would use less or no noodles. Substitute with bean sprouts, scallions- white parts, shredded cabbage or add blanched ong choy, bok choy, or sweet potato leaves. Enjoy!
My family loves the chicken crust pizza from @ketofocus . I have been doing IF with lazy keto for over a year, but I was only eating two smallish to moderate portion meals per day and occasionally a third meal/aka snack. I stopped feeling good and started gaining weight with menopause, and I was starting to eat some carbs again, like pasta on occasion. I have been binging your videos and started eating 3 meals shooting for the calculated protein I apparently need, but I feel like I am eating WAY too much food! Then add all the water and it’s even worse. I am not gaining and maybe very slowly ticking down the scale a bit, but I am just so full after eating, and struggle to get all the protein, fats, and fiber and water down. Am I doing something wrong !?
Curious if either of you stuck with it. I’ve just been doing this for a week and also feel really full, slightly bloated. Can’t get over how filling the meals are.
@@embeth446 I have stuck with it. I’ve cut back a little on the fiber and maybe the fats, but not a lot. I am slooowly ticking down the weight and I feel good overall. I’m not forcing myself to get 100% of the daily protein every single day, but I think I’m hitting it most of the time. If I overdo the fiber in a meal, that’s when I feel too full and bloated, so I watch that the most. Good luck!
@@coloradocorri thanks for the response! I think you’re right about the fiber being the culprit. Anytime I increase the fiber in my diet I tend to have issues so I will try to keep the water intake up and see if I adjust. I guess I went into this expecting to feel hungry considering I was cutting out so many things I used to eat, but that certainly hasn’t been the case! Best of luck to you.
Luckily my favorite fruit is berries. I'm good with a small amount with my first meal of the day. But, I absolutely love cherries when they are in season and Washington state has an abundance of fresh ones. It's going to be a challenge to not go crazy with them like I do every year.
This should be titled “ When you’re fasting you can never eat your favorite foods again.😮” Seriously Autumn, I have religiously intermittent fasted for at least two years with minimal results. Now after watching this video, I understand now that I sabotaged myself by eating these “Never” foods! The most surprising, but understandable, is the oatmeal. Oatmeal is touted by the health community as a food that will lower your cholesterol but you are eating a processed oat and once you add the sugar, the cream, and dried fruit (raisins and/or cranberries) it becomes a high calorie dessert. I’m intermittent fasting now and have never lost more than 4 lbs. Then after the loss, my weight shoots right back up. Now I get what I’m doing wrong. I will add this to my list of foods to avoid and see if I get different results. P.S. Thank you too for the recipes! I’m looking forward to the healthier oatmeal and pancakes. 😋
I usually start eating around 10am but I workout at 6am and take my preworkout then. It has a small amount of sugar but how bad is that honesty? My body seems to be in great shape still but am curious how detrimental the preworkout is. Thanks!
