Nicely done... regarding the ASU Pro Group... just under the radar of that discussion is the question of what the future of swimming at the Collegiate and Pro Levels will look like... an entire podcast devoted to just that topic would be time well spent!!
Like everything else, you learn something every time you taper, especially double tapering (trials followed by Olympics). The positives of waiting (being able to train instead of rest) don't seem to outweigh the negatives (not learning from tapering). Waiting 2 years makes the final taper all the more risky, because you haven't done it in so long.
Hard agree with you guys about Regan wanting gold, but I think for her the weight of that 100/200 WR double at 2019 still weighs on her as her peak and that everything she’s done since then has been nothing next to that, so I think part of that success she imagines is setting another 100 WR and back down to 2:03-2:04 low range especially since she’s always been so focused on times rather than winning sometimes.
Personally I think Audrey will make finals at Olympic trials in 2024 I’ve seen her swim at meets being in her LSC, she hasn’t been showing signs of her times slowing down. Also she also has amazing backstroke #1 in the USA 11-12 in all backstroke events with the next best girl being more then a full second behind her in the hundred and in the 200 and is 6 seconds ahead. Edit: others to watch would definitely be Grace Koenig-song (maybe her twin also) and Delaney O’Toole.
Ledecky isn’t as big of a motivation for Ariarne as everyone thinks. Katie being ”sick” in 2019 is a weak excuse, she was beaten because Ariarne put pressure on her in a way no one else has ever done and it broke her. Don’t forget Ledecky was under WR pace at 300. Summer will have the 200/400IM and 200 Fly that will take focus away from the 400 Free.
Calling Ledecky a liar? If you look at that race, it was a significant outlier in terms of Ledecky’s 400 free times. Titmus doesn’t need Ledecky to swim fast, but she definitely was a massive motivation for her in Tokyo. The GOAT doesn’t choke.

Looks like Audrey Derivaux made a final!

Kaylee is obviously in Regan’s head and now she’s second guessing herself.
Australian moment
Normalize swimming fast year round like MA
Except at ISL

Why do you always put the boring NCAA stuff at the start?
