- Hey all, thanks for watching the video. This is my latest session at 101 Poker club in Houston, TX. Playing $1/$3 No Limit Hold'em in a packed room. Was tons of fun and had a huge win!

Cool vid. One thing though On the flop when someone bets and you raise it is not a 3-bet. It’s just a raise , the second bet if you will. If they were to re-raise that would be a 3-bet.

I've played at 101. The last Saturday of every month they give away $500 every 30 mins! And for cash players everyday food and drinks are free! Don't get the cheese burger if it's your first time there. Get the steak!🎉

Positions matter don't 3 bet kqs vs utg, unless you know he's opening wide. Q10 well played.
Live within driving distance to Katy. Haven't played in Houston area due to the rake in Houston area poker rooms. Victoria, San Antonio, Austin all charging an hourly fee instead of a rake or drop. How much is being taken out of the pot by the house? When? On the flop? What's the cap? For me, it's about the same distance to Katy as to San Antonio, Austin or Victoria.
Paying hourly is way better than rake, your best choice is to go to Austin, more specifically the lodge
The games are way better in Houston, especially plo. I try and stay away from raked, but the $5 a pot places aren’t horrible. Still not as good as hourly, but eventually everything will be raked, just a matter of legislation being passed. San Antonio has next best plo. Dallas has next best holdem. I would put Austin at 3. I live in College Station and work in Dallas regularly. Lots of experience playing at several places/towns. I think this is due to the Houston scene being a few years older than the rest.

12 an hour at TCH on Westheimer plus a 10 dollar day rate. They have discounts if you buy bulk hours and the field is soft . It’s 100% worth your time.
