2007 Road King Classic here. Absolutely my favorite motorcycle, and I've ridden everything from 50cc dirt bikes to the VMax, Goldwings and Ducati liter racing bikes.
Out of 6 bikes my 2001 Road King is hands down my favorite . Once the magnetti marelli fuel injection is in the trash and I finish carb conversion it will be better than ever .
Absolutely , I own a 2014 Road King standard, the main thing is no fairing , can see close in front of you, wife and i been all over traveling, I also own a XL1200 custom sportster.
I had a 2019 RKS that I cam'd among lots of stuff and just couldn't get past the M8 motor and how smooth it is so I traded back for a twinky. I can't speak about earlier RKs but the 2019 was ok. I have a cholo 2017 Heritage and absolutely love it though.
2007 RK Custom here. 60k miles so far. Rolled over 155,000 on my 1998 Road King and 2 HD mechanics fought over who was gonna buy it. Road Kings are my jam.
I have a 2003 100th anniversary. I love it. The previous owner put on hardbags already when bought. But, your softbags look nice on that blue. Maybe you can sell them to me when you change the bags.
🤔 I had a 2004 Road King Classic. I would totally agree with you that the Road King Classic is the best bike Harley ever made. Even for long distance. Until last year... When I got the Pan America. Talk about best bike Harley ever built, the Pan America is it! Around town or cross country, the Pan America does it all...
I have always thought the Road King was the best model. 1.) No fairing, can see all around you. You get the classic feel of how the OG riders felt in the wind. 2.) 20 years from now, it’s going to be as useable as it was intended of the showroom floor. It’s timeless. You won’t be able to date it by how it looks. Take a 2011 Street Glide and look at it now. It looks old and “cheap” compared to the new bikes when you look at the fairing. It’s got the “old” radio, no touchscreen. It’s dated. The road king is timeless. 3.) it’s good in town, buts it’s on the touring frame and built to travel. 4.) it just looks like a quintessential Harley! This is how a Harley should look.
Now their an over priced, archaic bike by todays standards. I can get a 24 roadglide for 4K more than the roadking and I’ll spend three days wage extra for a bike any day

Agree 100 %, that is why I will never sell my 16 Roady, the best all round model in my humble opinion !
