I knew James Troesh. We had corresponded a few time. He had a great sense of humor. He ran a workshop for disabled actors and he pushed to give them roles otherwise given to abled bodied actors who played disabled roles which upset him so. I do miss him. RIP James.

There sure are a lot of cold blooded ppl in this world...but they are a reflection of pos parents that did a sh*tty job raising kids...& the one thing that validates those pos parents are the good ppl, like Michael Landon, that make up for them.

I cried so much, I have a brother with special needs, and Paul Walker lived in my area of sunland. I also love racing and martial arts. Just makes me so sad that such a good person is gone.

Sad Paul Walker died in car accident years later famous for the fast and the furious car action movies. Michael Landon and Victor french have inspiration to share with lots of talented people who appeared in highway to heaven. Every episode has a great story. Interesting how many of these shows that some of these things do happen in real life. Sad I can buy all the episodes on DVD.

One thing I've always noticed about kids in special olympics/special needs kids, is that while our heart is on the inside, they seem to have their heart on the outside, with just a ton of love to give. God works in such a mysterious way I can see His Hand in this. It would be something for us to get to heaven and we be called retarded, while the special needs will be called whole and complete. Truth be told, if God is judging us by the love in our hearts, the special needs have already won God's heart, the way they give their whole heart of love, while we just give a slice or two to a select few of ppl we love. Something to think about.
Forever thanks to Michael Landon, for these Highway to Heaven episodes. He sure knew what he was doing, and these episodes, every one is so good, for the heart.

I watched this episode for the first time today. It's funny that the character's real parents thought they were doing the right thing by placing him in a home for Special needs children and paying to keep him there.

Oh those were the days. I sill wish to come Michael Landon kind of actors/actress to show an example. This TV shows brought different perspectives and problems of society. I loved the show. No violence, no back stapling or no conspiracy. Nowadays the shows are full of that which you may not want to own TV anymore.
I use my TV strictly as a monitor to watch shows (like these) of my own choosing, cherry-picked from my computer or from my library of DVD's. I did away with satellite and cable in 2007 when I saw the direction programming was heading in, not to mention I hated the annoyance of a dozen advertisements in a row. And in the past decade, TV continues to be on a rapid downhill slide; many of my peers who still own a television and watch it regularly have become a product of this sad, sick society: vapid, soulless, dumbed-down and yes, even mean. After all, unless you're in the sciences, how can you be 'entertained' by a constant diet of shows featuring the where's and why's of vicious murders?

I gave my tv up in 2008, never missed it never looked back.
Um Highway to Heaven has some very violent episodes. That being said in the violent episodes the topic is usually about minorities and the disabled and the ones doing the violence are portrayed as "evil" or "misguided". And I wouldn't say that all modern TV shows are bad influences but there is a significant decline in decent newer shows. They don't make them like they used to but at least you can always find the classics.

My God, was that heartbreaking.
I was in tears for Todd. My son has a stutter too but he's awesome and I mean it and loved by many friends who'd back him up if got bullied.
We all have something in common n that which God the Almighty is the Righteous Father of us all n HE Loves us equally in Jesus holy name, we have the right to lean on His Love by His Spirit grow in Love n be the mature Parents n thank God. Amen❤
This was the saddest episode. It just proves that everyone needs love and kindness🌹
“Alone” from Season 2 was another winner of sad episodes; my eyes were BARELY dry the whole time I watched it. That one too is another fine example of everybody needing kindness and love, no matter what they’re like, including any inborn “defects.” Young Arnie’s parents’ reason for casting him off was nothing but a bunch of crap, for a rather similar reason as to why Todd’s (natural) parents refused to claim him. And in Arnie’s case, hence the episode title-the way he’s been forced to live in a box on the streets and even stoop to shoplifting for the mere sake of survival for both himself and his cat. Incredibly touching, that one is.
I was a kid when this show originally aired and I never saw this before now. Out of the episodes I have seen already I think that this one of my favorite ones.

Paul walker never wanted to be an actor and never became one only used what he already had. Stayed real and people loved him for it. He wanted to be a marine biologist. He has a great teacher in his career his mom. Love you paul I loved you since we was 16 and still do. Always and forever. 🌹💙💙

I grew up watching Little House, and loved it... Now, as I have grown old I watch Bonanza and started watching Highway to Heaven. Michael Landon wrote and directed such wonderful, heartwarming shows... It is so sad that his own life was troubled, RIP Michael.

I get so tired of hearing how family members and so called loved ones saying they are not able to provide the best care for those in their family who have some difficulties and challenges. Love, true love that comes from the heart of the Lord existing in someone can strengthen, equip, and overcome all challenges in this life. My ex-wife divorced me because I refused to go into a nursing home when I completely tore my quad. I heard the same thing from her, “I’m not able to take care of you”. I took care of myself and lived by begging, borrowing, and taking charity to live for two months until I was able to work again. Abandonment is my name!

This was back when casting directors hired kids because of their TALENT and not because of their "cuteness" factor. Paul Walker, Drew Barrymore, Haley Joel Osment, etc all had the talent. These days, all the major studios cast children based on their looks. The two kids in the "Dumbo" live action film that came out this year were both monotone, stiff and emotionless. Same with the kids in "A Wrinkle In Time", "The Kid Who Would Be King", etc, etc...
Yes, these were the good days! A time when people, love and God really mattered!! Today we have to put up a fight for these things!!!
