I just finished the game and wow... It was far more enjoyable than I thought. I know that sounds weird but the reason why I said that is simply cuz Platformers aren't my cup of tea,mainly due to me being *very* bad at it. There are only 3 platformers that I've thoroughly enjoyed,those being Kirby,Sonic and MegaMan(specificallybthe X,Zero and ZX series). One day,I was just taking a look at the games available at the local game store in my neighborhood. There,I found Super Mario:Odyssey. At first I was rather hesitant cuz like I said,platformers are not my cup of tea and I suck at them. Then I remembered that I've barely touched the Switch lately that my mom bought which led me to feel bad about it. Plus,my little brother loved the Mario series so I thought that I might as well buy it so that both me and him will actually play the Switch again instead of just leaving it in the dust. Thus,after some tiring work,I finally got my paycheck and decided to buy the game(it was last week by the time of writing this comment). I booted up the game,watched Mario get beaten up by Bowser and fell into the Cap City(I forgot the name lol),thus meeting our beloved companion,Cappy. At first,it was really hard for me since it was my first ever mainline 3D Mario game so I struggled a lot. Thankfully,after a lot of practice(and watching Dunkey's Mario Odyssey videos)I eventually got the hang of it. So,I step forward and began my first ever,Super Mario:Odyssey. Despite finally getting used to the controls,there are many instances where I'd constantly screw up and fail. Thankfully,despite the many struggles and failures,I managed to actually get through the entire game and... It was such a special,beautiful,funny and lovely journey. I don't think there'll ever be another game like it. The platforming,graphics,environment and music are all top notch pitch PERFECT. Jumping around and climbing all over the place is just so fun to do,especially once you know the tricks. Not to mention,some of the iconic moments such as Bowser's fight,the Party at New Donk City and last but not least,the grand finale in the moon are just so beautiful and awesome. When I got to the part where we get to control THE Bowser,I was in asbolute awe and excitement. Then the moon kept crumbling down as the gang try to escape. As they kept going further and further,they finally reached the electric wire,their one and only,last way home. All of a sudden,the music kicks in and things got more intense,the floors are falling rapidly as more bigger boulders fall down as well. The music really sets the tone for the grand finale of the game. It invokes you with such beautiful,exciting and bittersweet feeling. After the hard effort between both you and Mario(+Cappy and Bowser),you finally managed to reach the electric wire and get far away from the crumbling place. Landing on the moon,Cappy is finally reunited with Tiara,same for Mario and Peach. All of a sudden,Bowser wakes up and in a desperate attempt,pushed Mario away and tried to persuade Peach again with a bouquet of piranha plants. Of course,that won't stop Mario as he tries to persuade Peach into picking him as well. Unfortunately for the 2 of them,Peach was already too tired to deal with their shenanigans. Thus,she rejects both of them and walks away. Both Mario and Bowser were devastated as Bowser sat down,saddened by the rejection and Mario tried to comfort him. Suddenly,the Odyssey started up and lifts Peach,Cappy and Tiara away. Both Bowser and Mario ran ahead and tried to hop on to the odyssey. Bowser jumps but was unfortunately bested by the real jumper of a plumber,Mario as he jumps ontop of Bowser instead. In one final moment,his good pal Cappy heads toward Mario.Mario catches Cappy and throws him onto the screen as the screen turns red and the title of the game appears,therefore finishing Mario's usual routine of saving Princess Peach,in this wonderful *odyssey* I just love this game so much and I'm so grateful that I got the chance to play it. Thank you so much for creating this masterpiece,Nintendo. May there will be more games like this that are fun,charming and delightful to play. Take care y'all and have a wonderful day

@PaperPopper that's why people are upset that it was chosen for the final song. In the game itself, if you're a decent enough player you'll only hear this song for what, maybe 40 or 50 seconds before you beat the game? It's not the song itself people don't like, it's the placement. At least that's what I'm assuming. That's the only thing I can think of that's wrong with it
I like the musical bridge choices. The first one is based on Bowser's battle theme in Super Mario 64, the second one is taken from the original Mario Bros. (the one that doesn't have Super in its title)
It is a good song, and leaves an impact the first time you hear it in the game. However, the lyrics have nothing to do with the context of the scene. The lyrics describe the feeling of playing a Mario game, I guess people were expecting a song about Mario and Bowser working together, or Mario and Peach relationship.
After hearing this and seeing all the lyrics and how that when they said something like "so what if we live in a caved garden" you showed Wooded Kingdom to match the lyrics, it made me realize how much the next mainline Mario Game will not be the same with Charles Martinet no longer voice acting Mario.

All of a sudden,Bowser wakes up and in a desperate attempt,pushed Mario away and tried to persuade Peach again with a bouquet of piranha plants.
Of course,that won't stop Mario as he tries to persuade Peach into picking him as well.
Unfortunately for the 2 of them,Peach was already too tired to deal with their shenanigans.
Thus,she rejects both of them and walks away.
Both Mario and Bowser were devastated as Bowser sat down,saddened by the rejection and Mario tried to comfort him.
Suddenly,the Odyssey started up and lifts Peach,Cappy and Tiara away.
Both Bowser and Mario ran ahead and tried to hop on to the odyssey.
Bowser jumps but was unfortunately bested by the real jumper of a plumber,Mario as he jumps ontop of Bowser instead.
In one final moment,his good pal Cappy heads toward Mario.Mario catches Cappy and throws him onto the screen as the screen turns red and the title of the game appears,therefore finishing Mario's usual routine of saving Princess Peach,in this wonderful *odyssey*
I just love this game so much and I'm so grateful that I got the chance to play it.

@PaperPopper that's why people are upset that it was chosen for the final song. In the game itself, if you're a decent enough player you'll only hear this song for what, maybe 40 or 50 seconds before you beat the game? It's not the song itself people don't like, it's the placement. At least that's what I'm assuming. That's the only thing I can think of that's wrong with it
I like the musical bridge choices. The first one is based on Bowser's battle theme in Super Mario 64, the second one is taken from the original Mario Bros. (the one that doesn't have Super in its title)
It is a good song, and leaves an impact the first time you hear it in the game. However, the lyrics have nothing to do with the context of the scene. The lyrics describe the feeling of playing a Mario game, I guess people were expecting a song about Mario and Bowser working together, or Mario and Peach relationship.

After hearing this and seeing all the lyrics and how that when they said something like "so what if we live in a caved garden" you showed Wooded Kingdom to match the lyrics, it made me realize how much the next mainline Mario Game will not be the same with Charles Martinet no longer voice acting Mario.
