      Hi Nazan, I'm so glad you like it. I will be creating more flower videos in the new year. These are the cutters that I use, however you could use any primrose or small blossom cutter www.squires-shop.com/product/fmm-cutter-primrose?gclid=Cj0KCQiA-qGNBhD3ARIsAO_o7yl0YtrYM18ORubxBrOxKUfKCLvb6yf0xpzuVPPQi6YMJ-WSPdgtA-saAn1ZEALw_wcB

    My petals won't curl, do you know what may be causing that? Your work is really beautiful by the way

    • @TheBotanicalCakeStudio
      @TheBotanicalCakeStudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh thank you Amrita. I wonder if it is your paste...What type of paste are you using?

    • @PastryChefAmmy
      @PastryChefAmmy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheBotanicalCakeStudio It's a homemade paste. The consistency feels pretty workable, the only thing is Im not actually using a foam pad to roll out on. I was trying to save money because the supplies for making gum paste flowers are so expensive. I roll it on a silpat mat. Silly I know : )

    • @TheBotanicalCakeStudio
      @TheBotanicalCakeStudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@PastryChefAmmy Oh okay, that will be it then. You won't be able to achieve a curl in your petals without a celpad/foam pad. I totally understand that the cost of all of the equipment can add up but there are some that are really essential and a celpad is definitely one of them. You don't need to buy everything at once. All of my tools I have invested in over a long period of time. I actually have a downloadable guide of my top 12 tools to get you started - these are the essentials that are worth investing in when you can. Here is the link, you just need to click through and add your email address and then you will be able to download the document thebotanicalcakestudio.com/welcome/

    Just out of curiosity. Why not fabric flowers? If the branch is not ediable. Why the flowers out of sugar?

    • @TheBotanicalCakeStudio
      @TheBotanicalCakeStudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      Because I am a sugar artist and I teach sugar flowers. Sugar flowers are made with edible materials but are not actually eaten. It is an art form

    • @marikiemarie7622
      @marikiemarie7622 ปีที่แล้ว

      @The Botanical Cake Studio that makes sense. I'm just trying to find a more cost effective way to add lots of flowers to a 4 tierd sweet 16 cake I'm making. The time and effort it takes to hand make these is crazy compared to buying silk flowers for the same results. It's going to be about $250 in supplies and many many many hours...several weeks to make the flowers actually...as opposed to $60 and a quick trip to the hobby store. I feel my time won't be respected I guess.

      I guess it depends on who your client is. Many aren’t willing to pay for the time involved. If you are well practiced in sugar flowers though, you do get quite efficient at making them. I’m not sure what supplies are costing you $250 though! Obviously it depends on what flowers you are making but the materials for me don’t cost much at all. It’s just the labour that I need to account for

    • @marikiemarie7622
      @marikiemarie7622 ปีที่แล้ว

      @The Botanical Cake Studio in my area, the supplies I need are extremely costly. Even if I made my own sugar paste. 🙄

    hi i done today your cherry blossom sugar paste but my flower did not stand upright . so i have put cms in the sugar paste

    • @TheBotanicalCakeStudio
      @TheBotanicalCakeStudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would recommend using a specific flower paste or gumpaste. This works better than simply putting cmc in fondant as it gives you a better stretch to work with. CMC adds stiffness to fondant but not the stretchiness required to create delicate sugar flowers

    What did you use in the middle? Is that edible?

    • @TheBotanicalCakeStudio
      @TheBotanicalCakeStudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are shop-bought stamen and are not edible. You could make your own stamen using a tiny ball of gumpaste, however they still would not be edible due to the wire.
