As a student of iiitb i can tell you one thing if you are interested in cse iiitb offers one of the best cse programm in the world, guys the professors of iiitb are amongst top 10 in world rankings , companies come for them itself,and you will get to see various top notch lab in cse field, most of students come here for placement but i swear after coming here you will get interset in core cse or ece and you will get trained so well that placement is not at all a big deal,i wondered why iiitb placement are better than some top iits cse but after coming i realized completely,finally if you are interested in cse iiitb is the best option , placement will happen in a bulk even in recession like companies come and hire 20-25 students in bulk for 40-50lpa so no need to worry for placements

Let me tell you why no one talks about iiser in brief 1). High effort (you have to study pcmb + Practicals + humanities and more subjects for the first 2 years it's really really hectic I am in 2nd semester) 2). Approximately 0 placements... Though you can become a professor by clearing the net exam...(But you can give net exam with any master degree) 3) I have heard that people say it's very easy to go abroad if you are studying in iiser but it's more easier for IIT or NIT students... Because they get jobs so they generally don't go for PhD... But iiseriets don't have any other options so they have to go for PhD and only about 20% student can get PhD abroad... All the data I shared you can verify on Google

We should atleast get 93 for appearing in advanced where we don't get any seats at 93-94 in any decent nit or gfti or any government better college and if we get them we don't get our desired branch we get low branches like production mining and stuff like this .. But reserved students get a decent nit with some good branch ... SC st students has got branches like electrical many times in counseling just at this 93-94%ile ... I don't want to hate anyone or any caste .. but things are literally difficult for general students and getting difficult day by day .. One of my elder cousin got somewhere around 8500 rank in jee advanced and he got only civil and lower options like bsc in good iits meanwhile his one of the batchmate got 12000+ rank and still got electrical in same IIT ... And his batchmate was not so hardworking and ambitious towards IIT , he just followed the trend of going in IIT ... And when that non serious candidate enters in electrical branch in IIT the atmosphere there changed him and he is working in good MNC with a great package and living his life ... Meanwhile my cousin dropped a year and cracked IIT BHU electronics with 4000 rank next year ... But still my elder cousin struggled one more year and his batch mate got things like easily with only some efforts... Btw this true story is of 2015-2016

One thing I would like to mention is that iiith/b has best cs curriculum in India and better than all iits. Currently I am pursuing btech in dsai from iit bhilai and I had that option of iiitb but I didn't join it as I wasn't interested in dual degree but I can swear this college will come in league of supreme tier colleges within 6-8 years as btech courses are introduced and banglore being IT hub of India

But this is ultimately a decision between you and ur family, I don't have any place to give an opinion on that matter. That aside, both IIITB and iiitA are good institutes, iiitA's placements just fall behind ours and the difference is not so considerable. Make an informed decision, have a discussion with ur family regarding this, maybe get in contact with someone from iiitA too to know abt the conditions there. I’m a student at IIITB, and trust me the small campus size is an advantage in itself. You can get to the academic blocks in minutes and you won’t miss out on anything that you would get in colleges with large campus sizes.

But this is ultimately a decision between you and ur family, I don't have any place to give an opinion on that matter. That aside, both IIITB and iiitA are good institutes, iiitA's placements just fall behind ours and the difference is not so considerable. Make an informed decision, have a discussion with ur family regarding this, maybe get in contact with someone from iiitA too to know abt the conditions there.
