Garbage Pail Kids was the movie that got me into reading reviews. Back when I was 10 or 11 videos stores only had one copy of most movies. So every Friday I would try to find this movie and it was unavailable it would ruin my whole weekend. I remember being so happy when I finally was able to rent it a couple months later, and after finally getting to watch it my weekend was twice as ruined.

It is required that every bad movie must have a British actor to bring class to the film.

This movie is one of my bad-movie childhood classics!! It was just creepy enough to be unsettling, the marketing campaign and poster art were...weird, and the final product was shoddily executed. My sister and I loved it.

This movie could have been a horror classic. If the "Powers that be" who decided to forcefully make a kid-friendly film, had allowed the animatronics to be completed, and to show the "Evil" GPK's on a "Murder spree" or something creepy of that sort, this woulda possibly been a hit. It may have possibly blown "Chucky" away and out of our memories. Alas, some 1980's yuppie's (powers that be) forced the hands of the movie makers to do the opposite of what they had planned to do, and needless to say, it tanked. SMH!!!
    Great video !!!!

What's sad is special makeup effects artist, the late John Carl Buechler, who worked on TerrorVision, a couple of the Elm Street films, Troll and Ghoulies, who was originally going to direct the movie, wanted the premise was that The Garbage Pail Kids would have spawned from radioactive sludge that had found its way to a garbage can filled with broken dolls, turning them into serial killers.

“Plus his current reviews suck ass too”
“Electro, who looks nothing like in the comics”

May you have a awesome day, also I heard that the movie was originally pitched as a horror film and honestly that would've been better. Maybe a reboot should be made but as a horror comedy in the vein of Child's Play and Gremlins.

3:00 Dude, you saw the MST3k Stage show was well? Thats awesome!!! I saw it was well in Pittsburgh. The movie was No Retreat No Surrender. Did you see it there as well, or was it a different place and a different movie?

Yep, sure did! I was in Wilkes Barre when they did CIRCUS OF HORRORS, and also saw them do THE BRAIN the year before. Both were fantastic shows.

this really seems like 2 movies smashed together. The state home for the ugly parts seem like the original plot but then the fashion show parts seem tacked on. The fashion movie seems like it wouldn't have been as bad if it wasn't in a garbage pail kids movie, and the state home for the ugly comes out of nowhere and goes nowhere, like it was mostly cut.

Atlantic Releasing, Who also made Teen Wolf, made this. MGM later got the rights.

Might wanna clarify on the details here. Cuz theres a difference between making/producing a film and distributing it. Atlantic does both... but did not on both of these films. Particularly when a company purchases distribution rights... yeah, they didnt make the film.

@@JoBloOriginals Thanks for the acknowledgement. Great video by the way. Used to watch this one on vhs as a kid. Guilty pleasure. We all can relate to being infatuated with some hot chick as a young guy. As well as the rejection due to her being "out of our league." Only to grow up and see her on facebook looking less than stellar and realizing she was never what we made her to be in our minds in the first place. Even though this movie had many trash elements, (not surprising given it's freakin called The Garbage Pail Kids Movie) it still had some noteworthy themes. Even being bullied by the "cool kids", then seeing them too on fb looking average or less than average. Being yourself was what I took from the film as a youth.
