Was at a race at Atlanta Commerce Drag Strip . Prudhomme wasn't giving anybody time of day. Don't get me wrong, he is an awesome racer. Look beside him and Force is shaking hands and signing autographs !!! John Force is just a Good Old Boy !!! Gotta love him !!!!
My dad was in the Silver Fire suit sitting on the back of the infield truck at turn 1. We were there when Mike Dunn had his horrible crash in Roland Leon’s car! Pete Monose was in charge of them at that time.
puzzling...why "Snake" would back up all the way into the waterbox after doing 2 dry-hops and a shot off the starting line? My guess is the tires were still wet when he staged. He blew the tires off it.
Still great stuff!!!

Dwight Guild > Love these old vids, thanks for posting them! This was when I fell in love with the sport.
Vintage video.. Thanks Dwight
OCIR was such a great place to watch a race. We used to go to the Winston World Finals back in the 80's before the track closed forever.
I remember being a kid at turn one with my dad. He worked the Infield crew fire truck. OCIR was a great track. So many great memories
Jeeez!! No wonder they stopped the dry hops!! Take 'em forever ta get to the line!!
Somebody oughta' produce a drag racing themed beer called "Dry Hops".
I don't drink.. But I would absolutely support that !!!
That is hilarious! Took me a second to get it, but once I got it, profoundly funny.
Snakes flopper always sounded different
Even the ARMY car
Hope your well Dwight

Are you still around? I have a question
In my opinion, the Omni wasn't one of the Snake's best rides.
Alex Voyles > No, '82 he went to the Camaro, much better luck with that.
