I felt like I was looking at my own Amazon haul. We are completely gluten free here. 3 out of 4 with Celiac disease and the 4th with a sensitivity. I am trying to figure out a flour blend and once I do I will buy my flours in bulk size. I love the King Authors measure for measure for non yeasted baking. I am determined to making our bread bc I can't afford to pay 9.00 for a loaf of bread that is subpar. I am also reactive hypoglycemic so I've been working with sugar alternatives. Cooking from scratch has sure been a challenge with these food restrictions but absolutely worth it. I am blessed that I stay home with my kiddos so I do have the time to experiment with different recipes.
Yes I feel like we are on similar jouneys. I literal just conquered a sorghum sourdough. The link is in my latest pantry challenge video. Im battle that gluten free is not the best for my type 1 diabetic because the grains can actually be higher carbs. One day or one step at a time. Some days are so challenging Hugs
Hello from New Jersey… We’re a Christian family here and also have our own TH-cam channel and TH-cam recommended your channel to me. I can tell you a few reasons why I know I’m going to enjoy your videos… They’re real, you cracked me up on one of the videos you opened your van and you could tell you had kids with crackers and what not on the floor and your home is not, as I would say picture perfect…LOL, but it looks like you have a family that lives there and you live a real life. That touched my heart because I live with a husband with epilepsy, my youngest has autism and a few other diagnoses… I have to work full-time and we work in Christian ministries so we don’t make a lot of money. With that being said my home is not always picture. Perfect, we do have crackers on our van floor and have debt.it was nice to find somebody who is real and I can relate to on an everyday basis. I trust that the Lord will give you a very special day of encouragement today and I wanted to thank you for sharing your life and your videos. You have a new friend.❤
I am definately bulking up my pantry and I am going to can alot of meat. My freezers are full but I don't want all the meat in the freezers because freezers go out electricity goes down so I am going to can chicken, sausage, hambuger, taco meat, chili, stew beef, and pork. And just want to go through and fill in the gaps.
I stay stocked up for at least 3 months. I am from Iowa. I do need to got some certain types of veggies to stay stocked up. Thank you for sharing everything on your videos. I really enjoy watching them as I am learning many things from you.
i have started stocking tin meat and veg ,bought three containers with lids to store them has few rats round area , and large bottled water ,just a few each time i shop ,just in case .also bought a 2 ring little camping gas bottle stove and couple boxes candles ,few battery's for torch etc any little handily bits really
I agree that Azure is not worth it for a 4 hour drive. That's 8 hours on the road plus time to meet and unload the truck and load your vehicle. Plus bathroom or other personal stops. You are now up to 10ish hours. With Azure you cannot be certain that you will receive everything that you order. Since Azure does not operate in a deficit they can run out of inventory after your order has been placed. They will notify you that an item has not shipped. They can also receive a shipment of goods after you placed your order and something in your cart that said out of stock will ship. I agree that a maximum 2 hours one way would be reasonable if you place large orders. Also consider becoming a drop coordinator if there are enough people around you to make a minimum order. Then you could host the drop and not have to leave your property.
Thank you. Yes I did contact we are just too far north of thier route at this point. I worried too about what if I put in this huge effort and things not available. Thank you for your thoughts.
Ive been pretty good using up items and i just canned 13 pints of chicken breast, still going through the freezers, using up veg i froze from last years haul, canned 26 pints of tomatoes and 16 apple sauces, which means ive got a little space inventory the pantry used up quite a bit of open items done more baking. I still went shopping for milk bread and sliced meat gave myself a budget of £25 a week big shop in 4 weeks time to stock up. Im happy with my progress so far.😊
My pantry pretty stocked so I'm just buying sale items 😊 I enjoyed watching your haul God Bless You ❤ I've been plugging your channel on the Ozark Family Homestead channel praying it's been helping your channel grow
You're doing a great job. I agree 4 hours way too far. I used up lots of storage in my freezer that needed used up. I'm just gonna stock back up as I find sales.
You know how to shop..We are fine on canned& dry goods.I don't do alot of freezer ,as there are 2 of us& it is full.Ialsk am having issues with my meds( type 2) diabetes. My hubby has heart issues,so we do the best we can. Darn it Mamabear it's getting harder as we get older. Thank you for all you do for so many large family's by teaching them how to save money& eat well& have fun doing it😊.HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO YOU& FAMILY.🥰💞💒🤗
Hugs Im sorry its getting harder as you are getting older. I wish communities would pull together more. Im sure being older you have a boatload of knowledge that the younger generation could benefit from!
@@mommabear2many I think alot has changed since I was younger. Covid& politics has made alot of people change. Some of us don't want crowds..I used to love people& trust alot more,I pray for peace& more faith. I believe we are in trying times& I will never waver from the lord. He has our back.🙏🙏🤗.Take care& thank you for your response.💞
Good options but higher carbs my daughter 6 has type 1 diabetes so bean, lentils, honey we are just seeing how her body reacts to everything 1 item at a time. Monk fruit and the other odd sugars do not affect her sugars.
I am continuing with the pantry challenge through March. What I have learned is I buy too many sale items and we are a family of 2. I need to buy 1 ingredient foods. We need to eat healthier. I had to look up arrowroot powder. I had no idea what that was. I will be learning a lot from you. Enjoying your videos.
I grind rice and brown rice to make flour also buckwheat. Purchasing whole grains in bulk and grinding is always healthier. Also I see Texas Mom using Pamela's gf flour mixes in bulk. Also Forgotten ways farms has a great gf topping to put on chicken pot pie or she makes alot of left over casseroles with the topping turning left overs into extra meals and freezer casseroles!
Have you figured out how much the meat you process - your own animals - cost you per year after you figure in grain and other expense? Orchards, berries, and maple trees are wonderful as long term emergency survival. Plant trees like evergreens in front of the orchard to keep them private from passerby’s. My grandma had her garden stolen.
Oh no so sad for your grandma! Yes we do have a cost work out. This year is a bit changing I can't wait to share as things get warmer! We are switching out some animals. Getting smaller in some areas bigger in others. Its a year of regrouping. We are blessed with a tone of maples cleaning out all our taps as we speak! Have a great day!
YES 100 percent The younger kids do have some gluten. I should do a health journey video. Its been very interesting but Im learning more each day and trying different things each day.
Maybe you could become a Azure drop location since there is not a location closer than 4 hours.
if she did i def would ask to be at her drop ,others are to far for me too
If they move within 2 hours I can request.
I like how you add healthy flours to your baking. It educates others as well.
Thank you!

You could be a coordinator for an azure drop in your area. If you could get enough in orders or you can have it shipped to your address
If they were up high enough I could. So maybe in the next few years a couple years ago they werent even in Maine so.

You tube has very simple lentil tortillas. Good with savory soups and stews. Chick pea flour could be an option to make home made pasta.

We use arrowroot instead of flour to thicken things usually. Sound like you are learning alot as I am.

This is where I am getting to grindging my own. Im going to start a buckwheat sourdough soon.
I think it hard doing gluten free but also making low carb options for sweet pea and her diabetes.
I have been trying to incorporate more oat flour that I have been grinding
Thats great!
What do you with rennet, Mommabear2many? What a great haul!! ❤
Make cheese with rennet. Mainly mozzarella.
Arrow root powder is what I use for a powder on the body
Interesting! I made deodorant with it before. I use it to thicken soups as well.
@@mommabear2many lots if uses. Started using when I found out about talc years back

YES 100 percent The younger kids do have some gluten. I should do a health journey video. Its been very interesting but Im learning more each day and trying different things each day.
Molasses. Honey.
Cacao is the raw. I don't think there is any difference in flavor
SO healthier correct? As in whatever vitamins are not cooked out? Thank you
@@mommabear2many yes healthier not pasteurized. Much more nutrients still in it
