Theories of Police Service
1. Home Rule - Policemen are considered as servants of the community.
2. Continental - Policemen are considered as servants of higher authority.
Concept of Police Service
1. Old Concept- The yardstick of police efficiency is the number of arrest. Police is a repressive machinery in crime prevention.
2. Modern Concept -The yardstick of police efficiency is the absence of crime crime/lesser number of crimes committed.

The Law Enforcement Agency plays a vital role in the society. This is necessary because without them, the justice system will not function properly and crimes and violence will be rampant in the country.
The Law Enforcement Agency has different functions or given tasks in the field of agencies such as PDEA, PNP and etc.

Ang mga natutunan ko sa topic na to ay ang mga Law Enforcement daw ang siyang nauunang gumalaw sa mga ibang pillar, Kung wala ang mga law enforcement ang sistema ay di gagana o di uusad ang operasyon kung wala ang unang pillar.
Sa concept of police naman ay may dalawang konsepto ang una ay ang old concept kung saan may naka focus sila sa pag huli ng mas maraming kriminal masasabing epektibo ang konseptong ito kapag madami silang nahuhuli at naibibilanggong mga kriminal, at sa Modern concept naman ay masasabing epektibo ito kapag walang krimen na nangyayare sa isang lugar dahil sa pressence ng pulis.
Dito naman sa Theories of Police service ay may dalawang theory din, una na dito ang Home rule theory sinasabi na ang mga pulis ay ang kanilang amo o ang kanilang pinagsisilbihan ay tayong mga normal na tao, samantalang sa Continental theory naman ay ang kanilang pinagsisilbihan ay ang mga mas may matataas na ranggo sa kanila o ang mga nakaupo sa taas.

What i've learned is about THEORIES OF POLICE SERVICE and that have two, but this one is i learned most the HOME RULE THEORY (servants of the community) is the present of authority there to protect the community at all cost to serve them against crime, but in the other hand the community has a right too

I Iearned in this topic that the law enforcement helps us to prevent crimes and investigate crimes in our country and Law enforcement is carried out mainly by police, which is defined as a civil force responsible for prevention and detection of crime and maintenance of public order.
So many Learnings and new knowledge I obtain while watching this video that all about Law enforcement. The presence of Law enforcement is very important considering that they are the Initiator or the prime mover of the Criminal Justice System. They are also the one who has the power to conduct the investigation and to maintain the peace of order. In this topic, I learned the different Law Enforcement Agencies and their activities. on the 1st video lecture, i learned about the different law agencies under of different departments and how they execute their duty and the different body of laws. they're in a harmony. i also acquired the knowledge about the concept of police service and how they actually work. in fact i think the two concept is being executed in today's administration. i learned about the theories of police, which is about their duty to protect the citizens as well as thr higher authorities. the video presentation also stated the law that created the police department and its power and functions.

Police used to be disciplined and role models for young people so most young people dream of being like them, But people lose trust because they are dazzled by money or they use power as a law enforcer, So that they can do personal preference. They are two (2) types of Concept of Police Service are Old Concept and Modern Concept. When we say old concept, it is the punishment and arrest or the sole instruments of police to control the crimes. While in the Modern Concept it is the police and absence of crime or it is the opposite of old concept. The sole instruments of modern concept to control the crime is the police itself.
The municipalities and counties may choose the structure and jurisdiction of their local governments under the Home Rule Theory. Municipalities with the most power from their own affairs are known as home rule municipalities.This theory is prevalent in continental countries. In a nation with a divided government, the police force is also dominant.

Nalaman ko dito yung mga mga bawat activities na ginagawa ng agencies na kung saan iba iba sila ng tungkulin, tulad ng PDEA which is PDEA are preventing and combusting illegal drugs na kung saan ang gawain lang nila is mang huli ng mga gumagamit na illegal drugs and at pumapasok ito sa department of justice which na kailangang hatulan yung gumagawa ng krimen o yung gumagamit ng droga. There has a two concept in police service, this is the old and modern concept. In old concept authority or police responds when crime is happened. They arrest the criminal and put it on a jail as their punishments to control the existence of crime. The effectiveness of this theory is depends on their qouta or number of criminals that being arrested. And it is also called Reactive approach. While in modern concept police are deployed in the community, the presence of police is important to secured and maintain or to be lessen that there’s no crime will happen.In theories in police service there has also two theories. First the Home rule theory. In this theory policeman is considered as a servant of our community. Their responsibility is to served and protect to public. The second is the continental theory it is defined as a servants of the higher community. For example, they served to the higher authority, like kings, queen of the country. This theory is only applicable in European country. We also know the different law enforcement agencies in our country and its specific responsibilities and duties.

What I've learned in these video is about in the theories of police service, Meron tayong dalawang theories, but this one I learned most the home rule theory, is the the present of authority there to protect the community at all cost to serve them against crime, but in the other hand the community has a right too. OLD CONCEPT AND MODERN CONCEPT OF POLICE SERVICE
There are two concept of police service, one is theold concept and the other one is the Modern concept which is more observed here in the Philippines.
Old concept of police service performs punishment and arrest wherein the number of law offender or criminal that are arrested and thrown at the jail to be punish is their basis of efficiency meaning the more criminals are arrested the more effective the old concept of police service is. While the modern concept is contradicting the old concept the particular reason is that the modern concept's instrument is the police itself.
this means the visibility of the authorities/police in every community is salient to control the commission of crime,and the basis of efficiency is the absence of crimes meaning the less crimes are committed the more effective the modern concept is.
