No kendrick didn't even come close when it came to rap beef criteria. Repeating the same diss over and over using different creative ways would've never won a battle in the 90s. The only reason Meek Mill lost to drake was because he himself self sabotaged himself cus if he would of just dissed drake back normal and stayed off social media he would of won cus Drake is the bigger artist. If your the underdog especially in rap then you have all the fans wanting to see the top guy lose. The thing that sets Kendrick apart isn't being conscious or being technically skilled (though he is at the top level of both), it's his artistic sense. That's something a lot of great rappers just don't have. Kendrick has taste. I love the lyrical masters of rap, but none of them have the taste that Kendrick has. There aren't even a handful of rappers who could make an album like Mr. Morale, that's high art. It's not just brute force skill and it's not just the message itself. It's the tastefulness, the artistic sensibility. Nobody comes close to him on that aspect.

Ether was corny. It was a big success to many people, but that diss record wasn't too monumental that it derailed Jay. Jay went on to make more hit songs, more classic albums while Nas faded into obscurity.
      1. Public Service Announcement (post-Ether)
      2. Lost One (post-Ether)
      3. Story of OJ (pe)
      4. Whatever other song you like.
      5. Watch the Throne
Nas is a dull rapper. You can't play Nas all day at a club, but you can play Jay songs for at least 10 songs straight and keep a party going.
It couldn't destroy Jayz because Nas only has insults for him, not actual facts that could hurt his credibility (dsl & camel face? Super Mega Pause for the first one and pause on the basis of judging a man by how he looks)
Essentially Nas vs Jay-Z was strictly a New York thing (don't argue with me) between two men of similar backgrounds, with similar spiritual traits, and character traits. Nothing exciting about that.
Kendrick vs Drake is God vs The Devil (6god) and everyone can benefit from watching God defeat Satan. People thought Satan would win and they always think that, that's why we have little faith in ourselves and God.
This wasn't a rap beef, it was a spiritual battle.
The New God MC: Kendrick Lamar
      The Old God MC: Jay-Z

Truth: Jay took The Blueprint concept from KRS. Truth: Jay kept Nas' name in his music, he sample Nas for choruses TWICE!!. Truth: Nas retaliated to everyone in Roc A Fella BY HIMSELF!!
      4. Jay got DESTROYED by Nas and Ether. after Ether, Roc-A-Fella Records ended and kanye West and Fiddy became the number one rappers in the game. Jay-Z meanwhile retired, sat behind a chair and played husband for two years before returning sloppily with Kingdom Come.
      5. Well I don't know, are you a New Yorker? That would make sense if the character traits are familliar to you. Over here, in the UK, we studied the BARS!!! not the popularity and image contest.
and bro, Kendrick is nice, but NO Emcee is God, no Emcee needs their glizzy shined, just respect the talent and support what you want with your wallet.

@@theconsciousobserver6829tf you even talking about bro... you just called Nas music corny just because you can't pop your ass to it 😂? Kendrick doesn't make club music either, is he corny to you too 🤦🏾‍♂️? Nas has always made experimental, conscious, story driven music.. so of course his sales never compared to Jay. Jay has always aimed for mainstream $ and, he even admits in Moment of Clarity with his "lyrically Talib Kweli/ain't been rhyming like Common since" lines. Nas literally stayed in his own lane, never switched up for the booty shakers (except with Oochie Wally, bet you loved that one lol)... and still is getting nominated/winning Grammys with his current hit boy projects. Lmao @ faded into obscurity.

Drake went into the battle the reigning champion. K was the underdog. Not everybody was on K like THAT. After Good Kid, MAAD City everybody (as in boppers and casual music listeners) low-key fell off Kendrick. Only the real ones was still tappin in. So going into this beef WE knew K could NOT just come normal. Drake was confident with the jokes and the roasts completely underestimating his opponent. Kendrick took notes, created his battle plan, observed the situation and attacked! He studied Drake and stayed steps ahead of him. After piecing his plan together, he struck on Like That: the bait to see who will bite. Knowing Drake's ego bobbleheading, he knew he would take it. Then he waited. Drake struck: Push-Ups. Kendrick observed. Drake struck again: TaylorMade (which was a HUGE mistake that bit him in the long-run and the fuel that fired Dot up). Everything with K was strategic and carefully crafted and when he struck, he struck hard!
