I'm actually not very good at mixing, but as far as I know, each instrument must stay in character. i mean the frequencies like high, mid, low, mono or stereo. Maybe I can suggest you, find the frequency cheat sheet and Stereo imaging cheat sheet then you study it. it would really help.
In the drop chords I use harmor, the presets are Hardlead and gamer. I also layered it with sylenth1. For the pads and choir parts I used Nexus and several stock plugins.
