The truth is; Blaze had been singing out of tune with Maiden a LOT, more so on the "X Factour" than this one, probably. - He would tend to go horribly sharp, I even heard him do it in the studio with behind the scenes recordings, and this was NOT the case on the final albums. - It's also not the case here, and Steve is actually on the notes as well, so that's not even an argument. haha Probably not, but I definitely noticed. Although, there were some pretty crazy MTV/VH1 video clips of the last tour(s) Bruce did in the 90s and Janick was beyond wild. Maybe here to match Blaze's style he brought to Maiden-a bit serious and darker.
Another blistering song from the Blaze era....Listen, just listen...dazzling lyrics, epic guitar harmonies, solos and the incredible dark and intense voice of Blaze...no matter what anyone thinks, this era was brilliant....
This is song is really touching and very special to me. Dedicated to all of us educated fools in a world full of impolite people. Time will flow, and we will follow. Always ahead.
I've always thought that Virtual XI and The X-Factor are home to some of Iron Maiden's greatest songs, and that Blaze Bayley is just as great a singer as Dickinson and Di'anno, but live.... Blaze just isn't the natural-born leader of men that Bruce is. In shows like Death on the Road and Rock in Rio, Bruce Dickinson's voice carries this power that simply can't be replicated. I think he is the main reason why Iron Maiden is one of the very few bands that is BETTER live than in the studio.
+David Fellner There are great songs on both albums, but Blaze never fit. Not to say he's not a good singer; he's great on his solo stuff. But Harris tried to make him Bruce 2.0 on these albums and Blaze, being a low baritone, was never built for that.

Saw Maiden on this tour. As much as I love The X Factor and the stuff Blaze has done since leaving the band, that night haunts me to this day.
