Those blue lights in the interior look incredible. I would cruise around with the top down all night being warmed by the heated seat and air scarf just to see them lit up.
I raised a question about the purpose of the so-called ‘visor test’ in the last video comments, and you guys responded! Holy-s**t. Actually I figured that out by watching another 20 videos in your channel, and I have to say you guys are one of the most entertaining channels on TH-cam! Such amazing chemistry. Awesome!
generationfourth Coz they did the ‘test’ super quickly in the first video that I watched, so I’m really unsure. I live in Hong Kong and we seldom need to block the sun from the sides as the buildings are too tall and the sky is seldom truly clear. Cheers!
I test drove a 2018 and part of my test was putting the top up and down with the key fob as illustrated at 8:57. It couldn't have been easier. My only thought is that they had a defective key fob, or maybe it just needed new batteries. It truly could not have been easier and was very responsive to a light touch
I have a 2018 Iridium Silver E400 Coupe. I live in Southern California, where the weather is sunny and beautiful the majority of the year. I love to drive with all windows down and the pano sunroof open. It almost feels like driving in a convertible.
I prefer the coupe to be honest. I never really liked the way that Mercedes does its convertibles unless its the S-class cabriolet. I also feel that after a couple years of owning the convertible in a wintery climate, it will look awful after like 2 years, so I would much rather go with the coupe. The only convertible that I would get is the BMW 6 Series Convertible. That thing is sexy.
doug is great, but he's easily second. yuri and jakub are incredibly entertaining and have amazing synergy as a duo. hands down my favorite car review channel on youtube.
Love your channel guys, for so many reasons... Rex-test; visor-test; the basic ‘two-friends-in-one-cabin’ review...and the obvious: that head-bang outro! Also- much great information on new models. Love this channel...keep on keepin’ on!! 👍 (and damn... that Black-Ass Wood, son!)

I gotta say this time around I am team coupe, that white with the baseball glove brown leather with wood trim and no b-pillar... Stright Class! Love the camera work at night, that cab looks amazing!
Remember though that the A Class tech is software related. On their larger cars like this, the tech is more hardware related. You won't get a 6 cylinder, massage seats, air suspension, night vision etc in an A Class. You are also not getting the same level of ride quality or refinement. The tech here is still amazing by the way. I just think it showd the target audience to an extent. Alot of people these days a taken by easily done software wizardry over amazing hardware engineering.
YasumotoUS... also useful in the cold weather... I used neckscarf (lol) on the autobahn in the rain..in an sl63 amg With heated seats and blasting heat.. Was like 40 degrees and raining.. Hit 230 kmph
That sounds like an amazing experience; I do not doubt the effectiveness of MB's features considering that they _have_ to work well and safely on the autobahn. I'd love to take a trip to Germany and experience the autobahn in a proper vehicle. Cheers!
The very day that I first saw this video, I saw an elderly couple driving their Merc Cabriolet with the crazy windshield wind screen deployed. I was in the know because I was subscribed and caught this video. Just saw them again, today, with top down and front wind screen deployed!
My dad literally picked up his E350 droptop at the weekend it is actually the most beautiful car ive ever driven in and it looks amazing with the AMG package with the little spoiler and more aggressive front and rear diffusers.
Convertible down over coupé! Something about topless cars just makes the driving experience so pleasurable especially Mercedes because it’s so relaxing yet can still tackle the corners.
I see this all the time in the city of South Korea.. I see this thing depreciating in a few years and I’m looking forward to purchasing a used one! Great review!
I honestly wouldn't have cared about rewinding satellite radio in any car, but Yuri has sold it in so many videos that there is no way I could live without it now.
Fun fact about the key fob feature: that feature is present on ALL Mercedes-Benz cars, not just cabriolets (even my old 2002 Mercedes CLK430 coupe has it). On the non-cabriolets, it just rolls down all the windows and opens the moonroof. If you have ventillated seats, it'll also turn on the driver's seat cooler. On cars with keyless access (where you leave the key in your pocket, put your hand in the door handle and it unlocks, etc), you can put the top back up by putting your finger over the lock sensor and keeping it there.
About the key fob buttons, there’s is a reason why they are hard to push, reason is if buttons are easily pushed and keys are in a tight pocket or a purse they can be pressed unintentionally and opens up all windows and roof, in a rainy day car will be ruined.
That was a cool-assed intro. You guys switched it up nicely. I'm on the Coupe Team because @ nearly $100,000 price tag, that's pretty pricey. Great job on this video as always.
I never liked convertibles, but got a chance to drive a Boxster for a week, and the first time I did a shoulder check I understood the draw. This car was really sweet looking in real life, I’d be happy if this was my cruising car.
So I found out the BMW rewind radio function. So you need to set it on the 1-8 buttons on the radio itself and it will rewind those radios on recent iDrive systems!
When this generation e class first came out, I thought the ambient lighting was kinda ostentatious, but it grew so much on me that it’s the sole reason I want to buy an e class. Btw, the night driving scenes are spectacular. Keep up the good work!
There are convertibles everywhere, but "B" pillarless cars are rare. There's a coolness that can't be denied. But you wouldn't have to strangle me to take the cabrio.
The coupe for me, especially with the panoramic sunroof on the coupe. By the way, I prefer the monochromatic black interior. It has great contrast against the interior aluminum trim.
Open car FAQ Convertible: Any car with a convertible roof Cabriolet: 4 seater convertible Spider (Italian, pronounced Speeder): 2 seater convertible Roadster: Originally a 2 seater with no softtop/hardtop at all Speedster: Porsche Roadster Targa: Only the actual roof can be removed Landaulet: Limousine/Sedan where the back portion of the roof and rear window is removable.
I'd go with the Coupe because where I live, weather is not that nice all year round and I'd use it ass a daily driver and I feel for that, the Coupe is just better suited.
Please spend more time describing how it feels to drive - the handling, braking, engine characteristics. Most other things we can read in the specs or see in photos. I like your videos.
For this car, the soft top will appear if the rain come out of nowhere. I don't like the soft top design with the rest of the car. So top down all the way. The summer is coming and during the fall you have airscrarf. So, I choose cabriolet. Did you talk to Merc about the top down with the keyfob issue for when you take back the car ?
One day Jakub... One day a car manufacturer will be watching your vids and know much you hate piano black interiors and make the entire steering wheel... Piano gloss black. Safety hazard? Maybe but to see how youd react to it?... Priceless lol
TheStraightPipes theyll come out with an all piano gloss black interrior. Seats, visors, stick shift, steering wheel, knobs, switches, door handles, rear view mirror, seat belts, cup holders, key fob, motor oil, oil pan, and last but not least... Yuri dipped in piano gloss black... I dont know where im going with that one so I'll stop there... Yeah...
When they do that can they also switch touch screens from reflective gloss to nonreflective matte, and remove all chrom trim pieces that could reflect light into the drivers face?
I don't know if I've ever ROTFL at a car review video prior to today. Piano black buttons. :D Shout out to MB for their use of matte finish wood trim! I'd take the coupe with windows rolled down for overall looks, but the cabriolet for open air runs for at least three seasons of the year. A good friend's mom had a late '80s 300 CE and let me have a go in it just as I was learning to drive. Windows down with no B pillar and 0 - 80mph in such a linear rate of acceleration that you barely felt the speed w/o minding the speedometer.... gateway drug, that was.
The remote opening problem is fixed by a module from mods4cars called the smarttop. Click the remote unlock button three times to lower the roof, or lock three times to raise it.
Open top cars in bright sunlight is not my thing,at night --FANTASTIC.The coupe would be my preference as daily choice, but I still would buy the longroof version.
they should do two knobs with screen that's default one in volume and the other in tuning, i guess, and when you press the closest one to the driver and they turn to ac controls; that way, you only have two knobs, but everything that needs knobs is covered
I agree almost on every car-related topic with Jakub, but Yuri has it with the E400 Coupe with the windows down. That is way sexier than the Cabriolet!!

the keyfob thing is probably a security feature to prevent you from inadvertently pressing and holding in your pocket .... accidentally having your roof open while you're talking with ur buddies in the parking lot would be awksssss :p
I love the air cap in that car I would ride around like that all the time nobody else has that and it would make me happy so I love it LOL #you guys are the best!!!!!!
Cliche bumpy road test , find a seriously bumpy road , and make it cliche bumpy while holding a small Tim Hortons coffee and see how much spills ... would be a pretty awesome representation of the suspention .

We need a whole video like that! Would be so relaxing
I’m sure there would be people with guns joining you for the night rofl
watch less bad anime
Indeed!!

damnit, you beat me!

Y’all are one of the best, if not the best car review channel I’ve ever seen. Subbed and bell on. Y’all deserve millions of subs for real.
Dammit...can't believe the whole subscription break worked on me !
I have a 2018 Iridium Silver E400 Coupe. I live in Southern California, where the weather is sunny and beautiful the majority of the year. I love to drive with all windows down and the pano sunroof open. It almost feels like driving in a convertible.

Convertibles aren't that hard to take care of, especially modern ones.
that struggle when you see videos from the straight pipes and doug demuro and have to decide which one ..
BurakJ22 You know the right answer is here.
doug is great, but he's easily second. yuri and jakub are incredibly entertaining and have amazing synergy as a duo. hands down my favorite car review channel on youtube.
Both! I watched Doug's and Mark (Savagegeese) yesterday, Yuri and Jacob today, probably Brian (RCR) tomorrow.
Seriously good content from everyone.
Production quality here is simply superb.
Doug's videos are by comparision inelegant.
I watch straight pipes first cause Doug's videos go up to the 30 minute mark these days.
Love your channel guys, for so many reasons...
Rex-test; visor-test; the basic ‘two-friends-in-one-cabin’ review...and the obvious: that head-bang outro!

Love this channel...keep on keepin’ on!! 👍

Grant Stanfield Yeah, & i were kinda wondering whose "Ash"'es they put in their black color interiors at Mercedes...? ;)
I have a 2012 E350 Cabrio, and that e400 coupe has me drooling
Totally the convertible! I love the full open-air experience, and I really don't mind the looks.

coupe windows down
You'd be bitchin if you couldn't hear
All day man...
Door close intro in one take! NICE! Also, that key fob is ridiculous, and that cute kid trying to hit the button was hilarious!
I’m team coupe
Me too! I recently drove the E class saloon in Germany and it was Sublime!

I drive e200 previous model, so windows down and roof open is perfect no cabrio is needed. LOVE IT))
Jakub's face with the piano black touch buttons..... LOL... Priceless!!!
Airscarf.. Not neck scarf
reminds me of "neck beard"

Actually, AIRSCARF, if we're being exact.
Was sure I said air scarf. Oops
I would definitely take the E400 coupe
Liam Bach Personally id prefer the C63 S Coupe... ;)
3DFX they asked if you would have an E400 coupé or E400 cabriolet

As much as I love convertible, im on Yuri's coupe team.
as I'm searching for my next E350 purchase, this video was very helpful - non-convertible it is. Thank you so much.

As someone who has owned a couple of soft top cars in the past, I'm team coupe all the way. Also, the greasy chip Easter egg was hilarious.
I’m on the coupe team. Can’t beat the swooping line when the windows are down 👌🏼
You boys are on a major roll. Keep up the excellent work!
After reading the title, I can literally hear Migos Bad and Boujee 😂
Lmao yes my people
2018 Mazda mx5 RF

Haha 6 years later and VW has gloss capacitive touch steering wheel controls, as does Mercedes now I think of it!

Porsche Panamera has that shiny black plastic surface with capacitive touch icons instead of buttons on the center stack area.....

Click the remote unlock button three times to lower the roof, or lock three times to raise it.
cabriolet in the summer, on a Greeck islang, or Amalfi coast... french riviera why not.. nothing beats that.
Awesome review... and I like the coupe... nicer roof line!
Best looking convertible - 1996-1998 ruby red Mustang GT with TAN top!!!
Cabriolet for sure. Nothing better than night cruising downtown with no roof!
E400 is just such a great car I struggle to pic which type I like the most
Open top cars in bright sunlight is not my thing,at night --FANTASTIC.The coupe would be my preference as daily choice, but I still would buy the longroof version.

Jakub your face when Yuri mentioned gloss black buttons 😂😂😂
Excellent work as always guys. Best in the business by a mile 👍
Coupe windows down. Plus the one you drove is white, and white cars look amazing.
e-400 cabriolet: feels the same as any other convertible with the top down.
e-400 coupe: feels like no other coupe when the windows are down.
Therefore, by uniqueness and engineering, I pick the coupe during any season for the fact that it feels more open than any other coupe ever produced. especially with that sunroof too.
White exterior, red soft top, red interior. BOOM
Jassima Nasima I would choose a blue soft top.
Really good review. Most of the car reviewers only show the car and it's features. Coming from a UX design student, I like the fact you mention the interaction between the car. The key fob function is defiantly a fail! Hah.
Cabriolet everything down is so gangster 🔥🔥🔥
If I lived in San Diego -- Cabrio. If I have stay where I currently live -- Coupe. "Piano Black" -- If I ever form that hack jazz band I've been wanting to do, that will be the name.
One of these days Jakub will unlock his GS, and Yuri would have wrapped every surface in gloss black vinyl.
Do it. Make it happen.
chaozbanditx We should start a separate patreon to support the prank. I’m down. lmao
I would set my GS on fire
Yuri?😏
The hatred is visceral.
You guys are awesome. I feel like Im on a road trip talking casually to some bros about cars.
Great job. Love the interior, especially the night setup. Miss having the standard opening music though.
Update: manufacturers are now making gloss black button/screen/touchpads, see Porsche. You are mind readers! Great vlogs!
Sick Photoshop skills on that neck scarf , they should call it the "fire strangler" after seeing your video.
I think the key fob thing isn’t horrible, that hard press prevents it from activating in your pocket during a rainstorm.
I live in Florida it's Summer year-round .. Cabriolet top down 11 months plus.
I have an 09 CLK AMG spec in black. And I think it looks cool with all windows down.
Great observations and review guys. I gotta say, I don't like the way this car looks. It looks cheap, kind of like an Accord convertible or a bathtub. It really makes the E Class blunt face obvious, for some reason the coupe doesn't make it as obvious.
Coupe team! Convertibles are way more common than b pillar-less cars. The coupe is more striking and eye catching.
the keyfob thing is probably a security feature to prevent you from inadvertently pressing and holding in your pocket .... accidentally having your roof open while you're talking with ur buddies in the parking lot would be awksssss :p
Oh good point!
Or like the video, a child playing with it and crushing someone to death in the mechanism by accident..
14:03 light up touch buttons behind piano black you say? Let me introduce you to the Porsche Panamera
Driving that next week
I love the air cap in that car I would ride around like that all the time nobody else has that and it would make me happy so I love it LOL #you guys are the best!!!!!!
Picking one up at the factory in July.
Can't wait to drive it on the Autobahn for 1 month before shipping it back to California...
The cabriolet looks like a cabriolet, but that coupe is something else. Another sick video lads, keep 'em coming. Yeet!
Cliche bumpy road test , find a seriously bumpy road , and make it cliche bumpy while holding a small Tim Hortons coffee and see how much spills ... would be a pretty awesome representation of the suspention .
Great vid guys!
Since there are three subscription breaks, I hit the subscribe button three times.
Dang it. That’s an unsubscribe. We deserve that.
But I resubscribe since you guys deserve it!
Coupe for the winter and fall. Top down for the summer 🔥
Think about it by Special Ed is the song you were talking about...love you guys...keep up the good work.
I think piano black used sparingly can class up a cars interior, in some cases.
E400 Coupe with windows down for sure. Another great Mercedes review.
You should add speed bump or potholes test to your video. :)
I hate watching ad's, but for the straight pipes I watch the whole ad and give it a thumbs up!
Thanks!
If you get the blue top with white on the car, it looks so good with the top up!
I was listening to a song that sounded just like the intro when I started watching this video. I didnt know if it was coming from the video or my music! Great song I must add
Unreal video guys, keep it up ! Live to see a Nissan Maxima on your show. That quilted leather though ;)
Soon
Coupe all the way. The look of all the windows down with no b-pillar is just as clean as a convertible with the top down. The convertible will never look as good as a coupe with the top up.
Coupe all the way
BTW, Just because you are in an expensive convertable, doesnt mean you can not wear the yelloe wrinkled straight pipes t-shirt, at least wear a straigh pipes hoodie if your cold.
Expensive car = Hawaiian shirt
