The Gospel Keynotes has been one of the world's best Gospel Groups ever. They never got the recognition they deserved. Willie, Paul, Geno, & other's have been a blessing to me. I know them personally.
+Perry L Mamon Jr I bet Willie Neal was a joy to be around. I loved his charisma and stage presence. He definitely led a very influential group during his time on earth. He definitely heeded God's calling. Paul is a wonderfully gifted singer as well. "Walk Around Heaven" is a classic.
All of them were wonderful and talented men. There were several other's that joined the group in later year. Do you remember Charles McClain of the Gospelaires? I thank God for keeping Willie and the Keynotes. They should be in the Hall of Fame. Remain blessed.
+Perry L Mamon Jr I vaguely remember all of the members that replaced the originals unfortunately. I do know Charles was the fill in for falsetto (Paul), and later came Robert. I just know my grandfather loved them and introduced me to them as a child. Lol. Glad he did.
These are wonderful memories, aren't they? It's sad that many good works are not looked upon until someone dies. These were all friends of mine. Junior Franklin of the Mighty Clouds of Joy, Ben Chandler of the Pilgrim Jubilee's, Major Robinson, and many other's who have gone on. Remain blessed.....Pastor Perry Mamon
omg am 13 years old and I love the gospel keybotes. every morning I wake up and put on the gospel keybotes. am a drum player for my church but if Willie was still alive I will break my back trying to find them
I miss gospel music like this. All those great groups, you go Sam.They shake your hand and talk to you for a minute.I miss all that my mom and daddy are gone. But man that we listen to this music.Get me through a lot of hard times a lot of good times too so yeah let's keep playing this music😊😊😊😊
this traditional black Gospel mix is awesome I have had the pleasure of hearing all of the gospel greats in quartet singing. and God is Blessing my soul with the music that was truly all about him and singing his praise's. I have shouted all day and my soul has been lifted.
Thank you Lord that Paul and Robert and Jeffrey are still with us.I t would be too sad if they were all gone It is so sad that Willie Neal has transitioned. I saw Teddy Cross in a video. I think he is a minister now.God keep them.
I grew up with keynotes unlike many others. Uncle willie (family friend) would come to LA every first Sunday of the year. They would stay at the holiday inn bear LAX airport. In fact the group would come over to the house when I was a little boy for my moms Mexican food. Members would change but they were always smooth back ground vocals led by Willie showmanship. Geno, Jeff, kt, perry, Charles, Sheldon, Paul, Robert, teddy, late great mike cook (of the mighty clouds of joy), Val, Larry, Alton Hollis ( spiritual qc's) and so on. There music lives on today even after Willie Neal home going
That's probably Tyler perry got it from.. LOL! I loved me some Willie Neal Johnson. He had his own style. You can tell he loved what he did and that he loved the Lord
Paul was the original falsetto singer in the Keynotes...He left in 1979 to sing with the Clouds. The late Charles McLean took Paul's place. Later Robert took Charles' place. Now were back to Paul here....
Every one will always love Willie and Paul Beasey and The Gospel Keynotes .The ones who left here are still allright .They are Resting in Peace in Heaven .They was all annotated thru their voices that God gave to them also they saved a lot of Gods people thru their songs. And they did a lot of testifying when they were here.I wish that when they were going around to different churches even in my town were I live that I had went to see them in person but I was traveling to other churches to see other gospel singers at the time they came here I missed a treat when I went to see other singers who came here the same day .I couldn't be at both places in the same day. In fact I did not know any thing about them.I am so glad that where ever they went every one had a good time the song a lot of good songs that was hits and all of them knew how to praise God .They knew for their selves that God is a good God all of the time. When I get to Heaven that is where I am planning on meeting them.Every day I am working on making it in too.......Amen Amen Amen.......
May I ask? Were they Mighty Cloud of Joy? Did they change the name of group? if so, what happen? I know that Mighty Cloud of Joy were the best Christian Gospel Group......
