While Eugene was holding back, I’m glad he wasn’t hiding his anger. The amount of betrayal, especially from someone you called a close friend and brother for years? That is not something one can ever get over. As well as seeing Zach choke back tears and Keith’s quiet voice, my heart hurts for them as well as Ariel, her boys, and Will. There’s no forgetting betrayal, but I hope they can heal in some way and move forward.

@@giomaximo4737 yeah I’ve been watching these guys since buzzfeed and really loved their content but I always found Ned’s “my wife” persona really weird. I also felt that Ned pushed this marriage perfection a lot and in the last couple of years looked too sickly sweet to be genuine. The one video that stuck out in my mind was the ageing video. Zac’s and Keith’s partners had completely funny and normal reactions but Ned and Ariel’s encounter was soooo unnatural. I’m sorry for Ariel and her family. I feel bad for the guys and the staff at the channel because it was a massive betrayal by Ned being the family man of the channel to do something like that with a fellow channel employee. I’m sure the remaining try guys and associates feel as betrayed by Ned and the try guy employee as their fans do. I personally can’t watch their old content with Ned anymore. I hope they do find a new future for the channel because they are all so funny and talented.
I have thought about this since this video came out..... But the look that Eugene is giving is so heartbreaking. He's probably been there to hear about all of the kids' milestones.... maybe it's because I'm also a child of split parents, like Eugene. But he's probably thinking about when the poor boys are old enough to comprehend what happened, and how damaging it will be for them :(

Came here to say the exact same thing. Eugene is doing everything thing he can to moderate his tone but you can see that fire in his eyes and how tense his neck is when he’s speaking. I imagine they had do this more than once because emotions kept spilling out which undoubtedly made making this harder.
I was never a fan of Try Guys, let me honest, but the way they handled this, and me thinking back to when they started to be independent from Buzzfeed, it makes me happy how mature they were regarding this change.

@@mrbells8998 the actual fuq you talking about? First, they were all very close together so one of them cheating would have a big impact on them. And second, he cheated with a Co worker. He was a manager. There was a power dynamic which definitely impacts all of this so he should def be fired.

I think what gets me the most about this statement is that while the script had to be approved by the legal team, their emotions did not. And Zach's sadness, Keith's disappointment, and especially Eugene's anger says A LOT more than the script.

Once a man who has never had power finally gets it, he cannot resist it. This man was a loser for most of his life, putting his wife on a pedestal since he thought he couldn't do better. Since being a content creator gave him a power that attracted women, his self-worth grew, and he realized that there were more women besides "my wife." I wouldn't take this as an L if I were in his position; I would abuse it, gain more clout, and build a new persona that fits in with the scandal.

I think something a lot of people are missing in this situation is a bit alarming. 1) They didn’t kick him out because he cheated, but because he was sleeping with an employee aka his subordinate. That opens the company to major lawsuits 2) He was edited out of videos because they cannot profit from his likeness since they probably had to buy him out of his contract. (That also includes dumping all his merch, ads and other things) 3) This looks scripted because it is. Saying anything negative about someone can be considered defamation and is a suable offense. They have to be very careful how they speak. 4) They had to make a video talking about it because it was blowing up so aggressively online and people wanted answers. 5) With the amount of lawyers, internal investigations, loss of funding from merch, paying editors overtime to re-edit videos that were shot months in advance, the man nearly bankrupted their small company 2nd Try LLC. A friend of multiple years betraying your trust from a business standpoint and putting his fellow CEO’s and 20+ employee staff’s livelihoods in danger, might warrant an end to a friendship or at least a business partner. This isn’t to say he is the scum of the Earth, but he literally flung them into a bunch of bullshit that affected all of their careers and projects.
Eugene's anger, Zach's sadness, and Keith's frustration are palpable. They are handling this situation very well and my admiration for these men grew so much! We stay supporting y'all

I hate that this situation brought out sides of these guys that most have never seen before. I’ve never seen Kieth without his smile or goofiness. I’ve never seen Eugene try to VISIBLY hold back tears. I’ve never seen Zach so obviously distraught. I feel so sorry for their staff, they are having to work so hard to erase Ned and Alex as much as possible through long, probably traumatic hours. We love you guys and will stand by you three where we can. To Ariel and her family, you guys deserve better. Please don’t stick around for Ned. It’s not worth it
There are very VERY few videos on this site that feel this genuine, I could feel the pain these guys were exhibiting and its been hard not to cry. You guys have been handling this situation to the best of your abilities and knowledge, and I have gained so much respect for you all as creators and people who deserve their platform and company they have built. These are 3 guys that love what they do and clearly show it. Best of luck for the future, it can only go up from here and as far as I can see, the sky is beautiful
That is because they have a great PR team. Number 1 rule in crisis communication is to not ignore the situation and apologize. I can tell they really did ask a lot of professionals before making any decisions.

The anger in eugene’s eyes and the way Zach and Keith look ready to cry is honestly a bit hard to take, I can’t imagine what a week this has been for them. They’re taking it all with so much class and grace though, this is truly the first TH-cam “press” release I’ve ever seen that feels incredibly genuine and to the point. I really feel for them and their staff. Here’s hoping for a bright future for the three of them

Not just for Keith, Zach, and Eugene but also for those whose money to feed themselves & families are dependent on.
@@redcatofdeath you'd have to be the best actor in the world to fake the emotion in this. of course this is scripted--there's a million legal issues running parallel here, not to mention the fact that it's a very raw and emotional situation and speaking from the heart, while good, can cause problems in terms of HR/PR. it's a delicate situation and deciding what you're going to say ahead of time can prevent future legal issues, ESPECIALLY if there's an open investigation into the company.

Eugene spoke of Ned in a way that demonstrated wrongdoing, and Zach and Keith spoke in a manner that alluded to a death. It’s interesting to see how their different personalities still came through despite the preparedness of this statement.
Eugene having to stop himself from going off multiple times is so raw, Zach voice cracking from sadness, and Keith being so abnormally silent and betrayed is something I never thought I’d see. I’m glad they’re standing by Ariel, and to know how much respect they put into their response is beautiful

Lawyer here. "You'd think he killed someone." No, you wouldn't. A production company issued a press statement that one of the four owners was ousted for doing something that 1. Injures the reputation of the company, and 2. Exposes the company to liability. That's not even remotely adjacent to the scope of consequences that result from killing someone. "He was just having an affair." He was doing that. He wasn't just doing that. He was having a sexual relationship with a subordinate. That exposes the company to liability, as the employee can claim it was not consensual. "Seems consensual." Great, glad you've come to that conclusion. It's a question of fact in court and therefore has to be determined. It exposes the company to risk. They are also, again, a production company. They're a business. What do you think they're selling? It's themselves. They're the product. The talent. The brand. You know what their brand was? Being wholesome. You know what his brand was, specifically? Being the family guy. If you spoil your brand and your value-add is your brand, you've spoiled you. And they split profits. From a practical standpoint, he was an owner. His wife also worked there in a certain capacity. Are those two and the employee supposed to continue to work there? They can't fire the employee. That exposes them to wrongful termination liability. That's ignoring the pure numbers of it, with sponsorships, their TV show, and on and on. Every single way you look at it, it is juat common sense to remove him from the company. This is not some wildly disproportionate response to what happened. This pretty much exactly checks out given the exposure. And that makes sense. Because they're a business. And they have lawyers and other advisors. You can have an opinion that cheating on your spouse isn't a big deal. You can even have the increasingly bizarre-to-justify opinion that cheating on your wife, who works at your company with all of your friends, with one of your friends and employees, for a long period of time, while your entire brand you've built to propel your career forward is based on your love for your wife, is not that bad. Sure. But this was just a sensible turn of events. Some of you will lose your minds when you find out what happens when someone kills someone. It's remarkably more severe than this.

It’s so funny to me that people actually believe they didn’t know it was going on. If they had no idea Ned wouldn’t of been so obvious on multiple different occasions and he certainly wouldn’t of been at a club with her. He got too comfortable and sloppy. His friends knew about it. This is just a public response because Ned got caught. I guarantee he will still continue to make money from the company regardless if he’s in the videos. They can’t go into a lot of details about the case cause 1) there’s an open investigation and 2) they are all still barely processing the BS that former member Ned put them thru. Just got around to watching this video (Honestly, I'm never caught up on anything on the internet and just learned about the situation due to MatPat's video on the subject), and wanted to say thank you for doing the right thing as quickly as you guys could. As a fan of you guys, I'm saddened by what happened but look forward to seeing what you manage to make from this situation. Good luck, again, thank you for doing the right thing, and I am certain that your fans will continue to be here for all of you as the show changes.
Eugene's anger. Zach's sadness. Keith's maturity. All of their hurt. They're all wearing their emotions on their sleeves and its practically radiating off of each one of them.. Especially Eugene who looks like he wants to actually murder someone. I can't commend you guys enough for how well you've handled the entire situation. Our hearts go out to Ariels, the kids and you guys as well for losing a husband, father, and best friend.
While I'm sure they feel some of those things for sure because the loss of a contributor and revenue from unreleased material and merch is real, this is obviously planned. And flat out, Eugene is trying too hard.
You don't know that Ariel's lost a husband, or best friend, and kids don't lose a dad because he cheated on their mother even if they get a divorce. That's the family's personal business.

If Ned had an affair with an outsider it would have been a different matter but he chose to cheat with an employee. It wasn't just the unreleased material, the team needed to edit the footage again instead of working on new things. Also how are they going to handle the woman he cheated with? That is another legal headache since they can't just fire her. Not to mention the very public attention (TikToks, Tweets, Reddit, etc) that has already gotten out of hand. Eugene wasn't trying too hard, try being in his shoes for once.

I was never a regular viewer of the Try Guys channel, but I likely will be after this. Seeing this level of transparency from a group, and a production company is really comforting. Yall have every right to be upset, both as a group of colleagues and as a group of business partners. It kills me to see how the mainstream media has portrayed this process.

I’m not just respectful and appreciative of the single take, I’m downright impressed. They took this seriously. They’re fully committed. I’m angry on the behalf of the Try Guys and their staff. I hope they soon find peace and continued success.
While I do think they are upset by what happened, I do think they are reading off of a prewritten script on a teleprompter in this video, I do understand it though since they want to say all the right things but to me that makes it look not as genuine even though it probably mostly is

Ned was literally a groomsman in Keith’s wedding like, these are real people who are losing not just a business partner but a friend, his wife, a close relationship with the kids.. it’s just so sad to see someone with such an incredible life and incredible opportunities throw it all away. Eugene’s anger and swallowing of tears, Zach literally about to cry on Camera and Keith’s unexpected parental feeling throughout this video really shows the true emotion of how they feel about this situation. I’m very glad to call myself a fan of these guys as they push through possibly a large heartbreak of their life.

While Eugene was holding back, I’m glad he wasn’t hiding his anger. The amount of betrayal, especially from someone you called a close friend and brother for years? That is not something one can ever get over.
As well as seeing Zach choke back tears and Keith’s quiet voice, my heart hurts for them as well as Ariel, her boys, and Will. There’s no forgetting betrayal, but I hope they can heal in some way and move forward.

I also felt that Ned pushed this marriage perfection a lot and in the last couple of years looked too sickly sweet to be genuine. The one video that stuck out in my mind was the ageing video. Zac’s and Keith’s partners had completely funny and normal reactions but Ned and Ariel’s encounter was soooo unnatural. I’m sorry for Ariel and her family. I feel bad for the guys and the staff at the channel because it was a massive betrayal by Ned being the family man of the channel to do something like that with a fellow channel employee. I’m sure the remaining try guys and associates feel as betrayed by Ned and the try guy employee as their fans do. I personally can’t watch their old content with Ned anymore. I was never a fan of Try Guys, let me honest, but the way they handled this, and me thinking back to when they started to be independent from Buzzfeed, it makes me happy how mature they were regarding this change.

I think something a lot of people are missing in this situation is a bit alarming.
1) They didn’t kick him out because he cheated, but because he was sleeping with an employee aka his subordinate. That opens the company to major lawsuits
2) He was edited out of videos because they cannot profit from his likeness since they probably had to buy him out of his contract. (That also includes dumping all his merch, ads and other things)
3) This looks scripted because it is. Saying anything negative about someone can be considered defamation and is a suable offense. They have to be very careful how they speak.
4) They had to make a video talking about it because it was blowing up so aggressively online and people wanted answers.
5) With the amount of lawyers, internal investigations, loss of funding from merch, paying editors overtime to re-edit videos that were shot months in advance, the man nearly bankrupted their small company 2nd Try LLC.
A friend of multiple years betraying your trust from a business standpoint and putting his fellow CEO’s and 20+ employee staff’s livelihoods in danger, might warrant an end to a friendship or at least a business partner. This isn’t to say he is the scum of the Earth, but he literally flung them into a bunch of bullshit that affected all of their careers and projects.

No, you wouldn't. A production company issued a press statement that one of the four owners was ousted for doing something that 1. Injures the reputation of the company, and 2. Exposes the company to liability.
That's not even remotely adjacent to the scope of consequences that result from killing someone.
"He was just having an affair." He was doing that. He wasn't just doing that. He was having a sexual relationship with a subordinate. That exposes the company to liability, as the employee can claim it was not consensual.
"Seems consensual." Great, glad you've come to that conclusion. It's a question of fact in court and therefore has to be determined. It exposes the company to risk.
They are also, again, a production company. They're a business. What do you think they're selling? It's themselves. They're the product. The talent. The brand. You know what their brand was? Being wholesome. You know what his brand was, specifically? Being the family guy. If you spoil your brand and your value-add is your brand, you've spoiled you. And they split profits.
From a practical standpoint, he was an owner. His wife also worked there in a certain capacity. Are those two and the employee supposed to continue to work there? They can't fire the employee. That exposes them to wrongful termination liability.
That's ignoring the pure numbers of it, with sponsorships, their TV show, and on and on.
Every single way you look at it, it is juat common sense to remove him from the company.
This is not some wildly disproportionate response to what happened. This pretty much exactly checks out given the exposure. And that makes sense. Because they're a business. And they have lawyers and other advisors.
You can have an opinion that cheating on your spouse isn't a big deal. You can even have the increasingly bizarre-to-justify opinion that cheating on your wife, who works at your company with all of your friends, with one of your friends and employees, for a long period of time, while your entire brand you've built to propel your career forward is based on your love for your wife, is not that bad.
Sure.
But this was just a sensible turn of events. Some of you will lose your minds when you find out what happens when someone kills someone. It's remarkably more severe than this.

It’s so funny to me that people actually believe they didn’t know it was going on. If they had no idea Ned wouldn’t of been so obvious on multiple different occasions and he certainly wouldn’t of been at a club with her. He got too comfortable and sloppy. His friends knew about it. This is just a public response because Ned got caught. I guarantee he will still continue to make money from the company regardless if he’s in the videos. If anything they’re upset with him for being so careless and messing up their image and business.
So disgusted, yet he is giving Alex a pass. Alex was a willing participant and equal parts scumbag as Ned was, and they are making excuses for her. She gets to keep her job, while Ned doesn't. If Ned had an affair with an outsider it would have been a different matter but he chose to cheat with an employee. It wasn't just the unreleased material, the team needed to edit the footage again instead of working on new things. Also how are they going to handle the woman he cheated with? That is another legal headache since they can't just fire her. Not to mention the very public attention (TikToks, Tweets, Reddit, etc) that has already gotten out of hand.

While I do think they are upset by what happened, I do think they are reading off of a prewritten script on a teleprompter in this video, I do understand it though since they want to say all the right things but to me that makes it look not as genuine even though it probably mostly is

Ned was literally a groomsman in Keith’s wedding like, these are real people who are losing not just a business partner but a friend, his wife, a close relationship with the kids.. it’s just so sad to see someone with such an incredible life and incredible opportunities throw it all away. that’s what i was thinking to, people were saying on how their friendship was just an act or how they all put up with each other but i genuinely do believe at some point they were family to each other. they’ve all been together for 8 years, almost a decade, must be heartbreaking to see practically someone you would’ve called your brother throw it all away for a fling

Especially if you’re also friends with the person they betrayed. And honestly, in this case, Ned betrayed them all, just in different ways. Ned is really the one who ended all these relationships, by his decision to lie, cheat, and hurt people who trusted and relied on him.
Eugene’s anger and swallowing of tears, Zach literally about to cry on Camera and Keith’s unexpected parental feeling throughout this video really shows the true emotion of how they feel about this situation. I’m very glad to call myself a fan of these guys as they push through possibly a large heartbreak of their life.
