Born in New York, she went to Korea at 13 (I believe, or 15), and became an idol, she's known in the industry as straight forward, savage and friends with everyone
She can rap, sing and dance, now a solo artist, but she was in groups when she first debuted (fun fact her boss now is PSY)
She is a total badass, but also a softie at heart
Jessi is a queen!!!!! She was born in Jersey. Raised in New York. Went to Korea when she was 15 to pursue a singing/rapping career. She trained like every other idol. And she was part of a trio early on...called Lucky J. She was asked to be a show in Korea called "Unpretty Rapstar" where she demolished every constantant. And even though she didn't win, the ppl of Korea knew of her now.
Please keep in mind that since she was born and raised in the U.S. and her parent are from Korea. A lot of ppl in Korea see her as a foreigner, even an outsider. And she can be very controversial. She doesn't hide the fact that she has had plastic surgery, and she has said in the past "because she paid for them her TI!$ & A$$ are all hers!" She works hard for her body and works even harder on her music. She was signed to Psy's label P Nation about 2 years ago and he gives her free reign.

Born in queens, NY. Raised in NJ. Left to go to South Korea at 15 to pursue her music career. She's now 33 and still goes back and forth between Korea and the states.

She's born/grew up in US & returned to Korea at 15 of age. It was so hard for her to fit in Korean Kpop and the culture, even the language was & still sometimes is a challenge for her.
Glad that Psy (you should have heard of him/his song "Gangnam Style") signed contract with her to join his label company. So now she's under a company that support her being her, not forcing her to become one of the typical Kpop female artist.
BTS MMA 2018 IDOL Performance, you should check out. I'm sure you love it. Another live performances such as Pied Piper and Fire also really good.

The Kpop genre has s**t like this?! You better believe it home boy! I've been into Kpop since 2006 and frankly, never looked back. Too much talent, variety and styles that blow my mind! And Korea is full of talented artists, doing all genres...so what if they sing in Korean and sprinkle some English now and then....they know how to entertain you with vocals, dance, visuals, rap and hiphop, rock, jazz and of course, pop music. They know how to create music videos that is so entertaining, the production that they put into their mvs...they go all out, and I love it! Kpop has worldwide fans, and many, many artists are being slept on by the West...as they still are not accepting or warmed up in the slightest to Asian artists as a whole movement...no matter, I love being in the Kpop world, where well known veterans like Jessi are celebrated properly...the Western world is missing out on incredible talent...no matter, as long as I, a born and bred American, am entranced within this world, I am staying in it....and you best believe, Kpop didn't start..and doesn't end with Bts! Thank God! The variety is endless...and dare I say...so many are better than Bts anyday...dear lord, it's the honest truth. If Bts was all there is that showcase the Kpop genre...that would be absolutely crazy! They are just one sound, one style, in the myriads of the Kpop world. People need to recognize this sooner or latter. Bts are not the kpop gods...not by a long-shot. There's something for everyone in Kpop, and Bts is just one flavor in the candy store of Kpop.👍💙🌺
