Ngl this minigame made me want to see Sephiroth win, because when he summons meteor it’ll destroy the gym as well!
Lmao. Not gonna fault you there, this certainly isn't my favorite
😂 ☄️
LMAO
Jules is the worst final fantasy villain even worse than Kefka
It reminds me of the first game. I literally had more issues beating Jules at push-ups game than finishing the hard mode. That was the very last trophy i had to unlock. I just put a towel on jules side to stay focused 😂
I had a tough time too. I remember spending about 2hrs on it after my family went to bed and I was going to stay up all night if I had to, I wasn't going to allow it to keep me from platinum. 4 years later I found myself doing the exact same thing lol
Same towel!
Same. I used a towel and muted the game to obtain intense focus. The Square Enix people really want us all to get carpel tunnel.
Changing the trigger settings made a huge difference in succeding in this.
I think that you're 100% correct in saying that this minigame is NOT accessible to people with disabilities.
A lot of people in the comments like the resistance high and I don't get it, my fingers get worn out.
My god, thank you for the trigger settings. I beat Jules second attempt when I changed those settings. It was the last thing I needed for the Platinum!
I'm really happy to hear that congratulations!!! I'm not too far behind I just keep making all these videos so I'm a little slower
The same here. The trigger settings where the key.
Man, this video is really helpful for those struggles on the green circles. I watched on different video but still not able to cleared on my end. I followed on your command and it works! Thank you! I already beat Ronnie until Jules.
I am so happy to hear that, keep it up and let me know how it goes against Jules. Also there's a ton of tips from others here in the comments
@@Gatabud just to make sure you will not miss any sit-ups, randomly appeared either green or yellow, I forgot if L1 starts, the green or yellow circle after 7 counts (I think), and will suddenly fast the sit-ups. I tried many times before I defeated Jules.
I agree. I spent fifteen tries at least thinking green was the same as the yellow.
4:29 my sister did it with half the screen covered via a blanket so she couldn't see the the opponents score and the timer to stay calm and not get into stress.
I did hear that works a lot for people. I personally did not do that but I was very close to the TV and couldn't see anything other than tifa
How do you know if it is green yellow?
Once again, your walkthroughs helped me finish another trophy for Johnny's. Thanks man!!
You're very welcome thank you for supporting the channel
I did it after hours literally hours I did it tips I found worked best for me will make me sound like a lunatic but here they are and I hope they help any poor sod like me foolish enough to attempt this cursed minigame:-
1) dial down the trigger sensitivity to 0 it can make the greens trickier but the yellows much easier it'll save your fingers to, the trick to dealing with the greens on such low sensitivity is to slow down on the green and be slow and steady. accuracy over speed on this one.
2) find a button sequence that works best for you and never attempt the one you don't like, retry the minigame to get the layout that feels best for you but stick with one to build up that muscle memory.
3) turn off all sound even beeps I found this helped me
4) chant the rhythm out loud the one thing I found was that I would lose my rhythm after a yellow or green section but if you are chanting out loud in a way that helps you remember button presses e.g. 1,2,3,4 it will keep you on rhythm. the rhythm I chanted was L1/R1/Left/Right I used Left/Right instead of L2/R2 so that I didn't get mixed up between L1/L2 etc when I had to regain my rhythm this helped me not get mixed up as I was speeding up
5) follows on from the last one as you are chanting the rhythm I rocked from left to right as I was pressing L1, R1, L2, R2 this helped reinforce the rhythm
6) I blue tacked paper on my screen to cover sections of the screen so that I wasn't distracted I covered up the timer, Jules and the number counter these were just distracting me.
I realise all of these weird steps make me seem like an absolute lunatic and I invite people to laugh because I realise they are absolutely weird for the sake of a video game but if they help anyone out there get this damn challenge complete they're worth it, remember take breaks from this challenge give your arms a rest and try again later, your body will thank you, if an idiot like me with blue tac and paper on his monitor can complete this then you guys can. I wish you the best of luck smoke that sweatband wearing arsehole!
I will never accuse someone who finds a way to win of being a lunatic, well done and thank you for such a detailed response. It really makes me happy to hear success stories from others and what helped them win because everyone is different, all that matters is WINNING
I’ve gone to the extreme of draping a towel over the left side of the TV in remake to limit distractions. I’m trying it now in Rebirth.
It’s only weird if it doesn’t work 😅
I've done the 1,2,3,4 thing too, it helps a lot, I confirm
NO practice for me before yesterday but this video really helped me with green rumble feature so thank you so much
I'm glad, I hope this wasn't too bad!!
I followed yours and the comments tips, turned off all sound and trigger and got it in like 20 tries by making a beat with the presses 🤣Could've been much more painful so thank you guys!
That's amazing I'm so happy!! Thank you for sharing
I now have a video on the other hardest mini game, Glide de Chocobo and if you found this helpful then you will love this: th-cam.com/video/6j1O1nUsSZo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9vfRySt3Cw7h1Bn0
Thank you to this terrific comment section
Great tips. I will try this tomorrow! I’ve been having good success completing mini games without looking at TH-cam. This, Blood Queen and Cactar gave trouble
*So far
I'm recording the cactuar Minigame tomorrow now that I have materia maxed out. I beat it awhile ago but I wanted to make sure I covered every relevant materia option
Thank you! This video really helped.😊
I'm really happy to hear that, thank you for supporting the channel
Appreciate the video man! Dunno why I didn't think about changing the trigger settings when that's my biggest issue.
I'm also glad you talked about accessibility. I think it's so bullshit that there's so few options in this game for button mapping and stuff.
Like the piano on sticks was wonky and stupid enough as is, having a rhythm game on shoulder buttons is actually insane.
I'm really struggling on two legs piano and I so wish I could do that on a keyboard.
@@Gatabud that song SUCKS. I personally already feel like the minigame is badly designed from the ground up, but that song can suck my nuts >_>
I still haven't decided if I want to invest the time to platinum this because it's bloated with SO many minigames that are either artificially difficult, or badly designed.
Think I'll just do what I feel like, finish the story and then decide.
Good luck with that bullshit song bud xD
Thanks I ended up getting it. I have completed all mini games and all that remains is battles and story
I had to take my earbuds out. Being able to hear the rhythm of my button presses helped immensely.
It's interesting that people say this. I personally start vibing to the music 🤣🤣🤣
@@Gatabud I also think the voices were driving me crazy lololol I do love see ling what mini games people love and hate and all of the different coping skills. There's so much in Rebirth that there is something for everyone.
Thank you so much for showing how you press the shoulder buttons! Other video guides didn't really help because they didn't really explain or show how to do it, I could not figure out how to do the green button press thing for the longest time! Either the game is bad at explaining or I suck at reading/understanding the rules, the whole time I was like, "what the hell is a half press?!" I didn't realise what it meant until I saw how you did it, I was finally able to beat everyone in the gym including Jules 51-49! Never again! Thank you for this video again!
That means a lot. I too have noticed that TH-cam is full of videos of dudes just destroying stuff and making it look easy but they never take the time to explain or show face. I wanted to be different and it's working 🙏🙏🙏
It definitely is helping! I've got 2 trophies left (VR missions and Johnny's treasure trove) until the platinum but some of the minigames are just so hard but I definitely will be checking out your other guides too. Keep up the good work!
Few hints that worked for me
1. Turn the volume off
2. Turn adaptive triggers to 2 in settings
3. If you mess up once just retry it no point in carrying on the set he will cheese you
4. He maxes out at 49/50 occasionally so aim for 50/51
5. After 20 reps the speed doesnt quicken but it doesnt slow either so maintain a steady pace when you get to 20 reps and dont try and go too fast
It's fascinating how differently people approach the adaptive triggers. Thank you for the comment!
Bro all yall are f’n liars look how fast he is going! You can literallly see his hands once he presses a button his finger is on to the other there is literally no gap between presses.
All that go at your pace is trash I got only 38 I had no mistakes.
@@Spanluver its hard but not impossible :)
I remapped L1 and R1 to Up and Triangle and it helped me a lot
Now that I think about it, that would probably help a ton for some people and get around the L2+R2 not working being remapped
How do you do this ?
@chloematheou3456 it's in the PS5's accessibility settings
@SuperWallace78 for the tapping you're allowed to push the button all the way down when you tap, it's just the hold you can't push all the way down
I can’t seem to get the green button half press. It fails me every single time.
I can hold it and get it to fill but then when I go to press it fully it fails.
It's so annoying to figure out but once you do it gets better
anyone else still struggling with this, i'll add few additional tips of my own that helped me beat all 3 ranks in one sitting after not being able to do any of them: turn the music off!!! or down to lowest setting, let the vibration of the controller tell you the speed. this game is such a psychological nerve wreck that as the music and noises speed up and you see the opponents number going past your own it tricks you in going too fast and that's when you make a mistake and then actually get behind instead of psuedo behind. what helped me was just turning off the noise and breathing , take your time with it, you'll get in a rhythm where you can do the pattern fast when none of the l1,r1,l2,r2 are showing. then the moment they appear on the screen again slow down and take a breath, especially if it is the green trigger type where you have to do a half pull. this is where i always messed up. if you take your time when it appears and just breathe and go slow you get past it easily then you're back in going in fast mode flow state. turn the music off!! it helped me tremendously not get as stressed about it and next thing i knew i beat all 3 ranks very quickly. it's def a psychological game of turning off all distractions and breathing and not worrying about your opponents number being higher than yours, because it's designed to get to a high number then mess up based on where your number is- which in turn stresses you out to make a mistake. turn off all noise and distraction and if you get in the flow state and take your time on the Green circles, you'll beat it.
also thanks for this video. changing the adaptive trigger settings helped a lot for me!
Thank you for such a thoughtful post. Personally I was vibing to the music and using it as a cadence, but I can totally see it being a distraction to others. One thing I didn't mention in the video was what got me to mess up deep was not the L2/R2 special mechanic, it was getting reset and pressing the NEXT button properly. I often moved my hands
Honestly, it was the same thing with the pull-up mini game from the previous game.
Any extra info on the green circle? I hold it halfway and it does fill up but it doesn’t move on when I complete the press if that makes sense, I sometimes need to complete the press then press the same trigger again and it completely ruins my rythem haha, regardless this had helped me thank you! im not moving on with the story until I beat them all so wish me luck haha
Is there any haptic feedback or vibration on your controller? It appears like you don’t there is no resistance
I turned resistance to the minimum in the FF7 settings because my fingers get tired on high resistance
Thanks I beat him after 50 or so attempts r1 to l1 worked for me
That's awesome I'm so happy to hear that
For some reason I can press L1 and R1, but the minigame won't register L2 for me. I've been messing with it for over 45 minutes now and can't even pass the first tutorial minigame vs Amina. Does anyone know if it's a bug or if there's something I'm doing wrong? I tried changing the settings shown in this video and it didn't fix the problem.
My L2 button works outside of the minigame though. Oddly, even if I mash L2 throughout the minigame, it won't register or even cause Tifa to mess up her reps, but R2 still does.
Are you using any controller other than a standard Sony dual sense controller? Like I said in my video, I suspect some programming issues that potentially block anything other than that
@Gatabud No, it's a standard dual sense Sony controller. I unplugged my keyboard and other devices to make sure nothing else would interfere. I know the Adaptive Triggers work because I had disabled them for the Costa del Sol Pirate Gunner minigame. I even went back to the minigame to turn them back on in case that caused it. But for some reason that minigame just isn't registering the L2 trigger as working for me. It could be a bug happening. The PS5 did have a system update and dual sense firmware update the other day. But I haven't found any other problems that would indicate that as being the issue.
That is really bizarre. You can't even complete the first sit up based on my understanding?
@@Gatabud Correct. It's as though L2 won't register for that specific minigame for me. But any other minigames and features, it works fine.
You are certainly adding fuel to my speculations in the accessibility part of the video.
I'm going to look over every possible controller setting next time I get a min to get on my PS5.
In the meantime, do you have a second dual sense controller? That's how you would rule out the controller being the issue
Finally! Did it after 45 minutes. Dialing down the trigger sensitivity to 1 and getting into a rhythm worked for me. Also a bit of luck.
45 minutes is great. Took me a lot longer. Well done, thank you for supporting the channel
Your videos for Cactuar Crush really helped me. I just don't think I am skilled enough to do these Crutches, Piano Songs, or Sephiroth's 3D Brawler which sucks because I really did want the Plat.
Don't give up! Piano in particular took me several days of non stop practice. I eventually got that done just barely. Check my Sephiroth reel, that should also help
@@Gatabud Thanks. I hope I can get better at piano and the crutches.
I finally beat the 3D Sephiroth match. It took me some hours. I am currently at 56/61 trophies and 83/88 collectables for Johnny. Wish me luck!
I always mess up on the the timing on glow button. It’s always miss times whether I press just before or even on it
Yeah the green circle is tough. You gotta just gradually increase pressure as it fills and then when the circle fills do a full squeeze. My winning attempts end up having minimal green circles. It's better to be lucky than good sometimes
Been at this for an hour on rank one and it won’t register L2 and R2 when the green circle shows up and it’s pissing me off so much
Are you doing the half hold method and not trying to button mash?
@@Gatabud yeah I am
Ok so I have actually confirmed there are a few glitches with this mini game from the comments section.
My first bit of advice is to try a different controller if possible.
This Minigame is coded to basically require some functionality that only exists on the L+R buttons, and if there's anything wrong with it the input gets blocked.
Got it a few minutes ago. Changing the trigger helped a lot. Ah and a personal tipp from me is to get tifa in a swiming bikini. It dosent change anything but it looks good even if you fail 👍
🤣🤣🤣 I did shinra on purpose to bait y'all into commenting and for my wonderful wife to not get the wrong idea about this game lol
I have horrible coordination and one thing that helped me was holding the controller regularly, then bending my shoulders/elbows up and back over my head like I was going to inbound a basketball / soccer ball from over my head. (Or just bend my elbows back so the controller is upside down close to my chest) What this does is orient the buttons like they are on the screen. You can find your own way to do that. It helps when you have to pay attention to the color. It does not help with the speed/timing directly, but it minimizes the translational thoughts when muscle memory fails me.
That is a fascinating way to overcome getting the buttons backwards which is something that gave me a lot of problems as well. It wouldn't work for me personally because the only way I can button mash effectively is by removing my hand from the controller and using my arms for the rapid movement but this certainly would help some people
the half press shit makes this a nightmare compared to the pull up game from Remake but what helped me was the half the screen covered for Jules and muting the music
I heard that a lot, I personally did this on an 85 inch TV and I was just very close so I couldn't see Jules at all without turning my head
Thank you gatabud
You're very welcome
thanks! good guide, I got it after about 7-8 tries. Micked your style of holding controller, music off, went haptics on 2, and didnt look at anything other than tifa and restart anytime stuffed up. The greens were the hardest to adjust....but it wasnt that hard in the end, I have far more trouble with glide de chocobo than this.
7-8 tries is absolutely sizzling it took me like 60 tries lol. Well done and thanks for your tips
@@Gatabud Thanks! Its interesting how some people find certain mini games differently? like Piano and Glide de choc are for me much harder. following your glide de choc video next!
So for the Platinum I only need to beat him once? Or is there coming something else? Cause I beat him and got the belt in like 20 mins. Not that bad.
You are good to go, you also silently got one of the 88 items needed for Johnny's Inn
@@Gatabud oh nice thank you
This took me all day to get.
Me too, wasn't as bad as piano though. Congrats on the win!
Nah but how do you get so good at the green circle part because that is the only thing that is messing me up when I hold it down slightly then the game keeps on deciding that i'm messing up and the whole game is ruin
I think when you mess up is when you unintentionally release some pressure. To combat this, I actually just slowly pull more as the circle fills then squeeze at end for full press
Gatabud Could you possibly test something for me in the Pirates Rampage Mini Game?
Because for me it looks like Rapid Firing has either been nerfed or maybe broken in a recent patch.
Essentially when rapidly tapping the R2 the gun firing is very intermittent and keeps stopping for several seconds making it near impossible to take out targets that require
multiple shots like the malborough's I've not been able to beat Ghost Ship even when rapid firing was working.... There's no chance in hell now
Wanna see if its just my game thats bugged or if square broke it. Thanks Bud...
Yeah I can look into this for you in the next 24h
@@Gatabud Much Appreciated:) It almost seems like they've restricted the rate of fire. if you tap R2 too fast it bugs out. slow down and its more consistent.
but the rof at which it works is pretty slow, especially compared to most videos on youtube.
Thanks
I just did a few short tests. On the easy one where there is no accuracy check I saw no issues with rapid fire. On the second one I did observe some irregularities and after like 5 shots or so I wouldn't fire for a little bit. Honestly though, the only time this would even impact a little would be round 4 against the Marlboros so not a big deal. It also might have been like this always and I didn't notice
@@Gatabud could be my game is bugged. the firing is very intermittent and inconsistent. if I keep tapping r2 continuously, the gun will stop firing for several seconds
or until I stop tapping r2, wait a couple seconds and then resume. it will only fire continuously if i tap r2 at a slow rate.
Yes stages 1 - 3 its not an issue like you say, but on stage 4 its needed to take out the Malboros.
Think I will try reinstalling the game.
Thanks for having a look at it. much appreciated:)
I don't think a game reinstall would do anything, I have seen evidence that this game has weird programming for stuff that uses trigger sensitivity and people who have any controller damage are being blocked from finishing crunch off. To test this you gotta try crunch off with this controller and let me know if that works or not
This one vid saved my life
Good I'm glad. This was a rough mini game
Spent an hour doing rank 3 and i can only do 30 situps but i will keep trying tomorrow
Don't give up! Get a start that favors your dominant hand, all it takes is one good run and it's over. Also don't try to go too fast where you mess up the special L2 or R2 presses, your eye should be laser focused on that
I can't get passed rank one with the button hit on r2 or l2 it fails 10000000000% of the time. But I can do it no prob against the girl
@@thebootyman27 so when you're doing it and the r2 is green lightly hold that button
When i started this mini game i didn't know about the mechanics of the green prompt and thought you just needed to hold in the trigger to fill the circle.
Once I figured it out I struggled with the green prompt and could not beat either of the 2 guys before Joules.
What worked in the end for me was keeping the trigger resistance ON to stop me pulling the trigger too far along with a lot of practice.
I also turned off the music and the voice audio so I could concentrate on the rhythm. got it after dozen or so try's
Tifa's pull up in the remake was way way harder, being an older guy, my fingers struggled to push the buttons fast enough to beat Joules.
I'm really happy to hear about your win. It's really interesting to see such vast differences in how people find success. The adaptive trigger for me was tiring my hand more quickly
Hi gatabud I actually find these mini games easily the only thing I was having trouble with was the green button press I didn't know I had to hold it but I have a great memory so when the buttons disappear I can remember the button from memory so that part I have no problem with
That's really good!!
Is it to late to seek your help? This is the only mini game I need. I even finally beat 3d sepiroth who I find out wasnt too bad once I master the body motions and pause buffer trick.
No it is not, I haven't done the event yet. I'll figure out when it'll be after I'm done with this grad school semester in 2 weeks. Keep in touch with me
@@Gatabud alright thanks ill be on the look out if I some how dont end up getting it LOL. Literally the only thing delaying my platinum
Thanks for explaining what green meant thats confusing
Anytime, thank you for the kind words
But i didnt get a trophy platinum or otherwise whats up with that?
What you got was one of the 88 items for Johnny's Inn, and all 88 gets you the 7 Star Hotel" trophy
Took me 100 tries, but I did it.
3 things.
1. Ignore Jules, cover him up or something. ( cardboard box 📦)
2. focus on Tifa
3. Try to remember the L1 and R1 & L2 and R2 by counting 1,2,3,4 repeat.
Awesome work, thank you for sharing im really happy to hear about the results
Gatabud, I know I would greatly appreciate help on this one. Believe me if I could do it I would. I am 64 years old, been loving and playing videos games over 50 years. FF7 OG is my favorite game of all time... It is my love for that game the only reason I am putting myself through this mental and emotional torture. This will be the only thing keeping me from my platinum trophy. They literally have made this impossible for me to do because of the added green feature. I have very little feeling in my body from a previous head injury. I am not physically able to tell the pressure for this mini game on green! I am no stranger to tough games... I have Platinum all of the Soul games, Demon's Soul's, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Sekiro, and Lies of P just to name a few. I have helped many players through the years achieve their Platinum in games like those. There are tough games and then there are games like this filled with ridiculously very difficult mini games that are not fun to the average players out here. The pullup was tough to get in Remake, that was hard enough, why they felt the need to make this even harder by adding this green feature is just insane! Do they not want the average player to enjoy their games? Is this how some one gets their rocks off by tortureing others in something that should be relaxing and realistically fun to do from the regular game play. The Rebirth has really given me a bad taste in my mouth because of so many ridiculous mini games that are tied to things... They are important to do. When a person puts out the money for a game, most of us wants to experience all the game has to offer. It's getting your money worth for what you purchase. I don't go to a restaurant and purchase a great meal to only eat part of it. I feel the same way about a game I purchase. Anyhow I would very much appreciate the help if it weren't FF7 I wouldn't be asking, thank you, for your kindness and understanding. I have never been so frustrated.
Shoot me an email at bud@gatabud.com or an Instagram message at Gatabud. I would be happy to include you in my help event
I did it! I beat jules! 50 to 49!
Amazing!!! Very well done
I lowkey feel like EVERY.SINGLE. MINI-GAME (except Queen’s Blood) made me want to give up playing this game all together.
I've been telling people... Unless a platinum trophy is important to you just skip this honestly and enjoy what's fun
@@Gatabud Thank you. I honestly thought it was something to deal with an optional sidequest for Tifa after that other character’s cringey ass laugh.
a few more tips:
for my color blind people, i HIGHLY recommend turning on inverted colors and high contrast in the accessability menu of the playstion 5 (without it on i could barely tell the difference between the tapping and the long press indicators)
I also reccoment covering jules half of the screen with a shirt or something as that helped me focus more lmfao
(im already terrified by what workout square will decide to torture us with in Part 3
I'm really glad you mentioned colorblindness because I was thinking after the fact that green / yellow is pretty darn similar. Maybe red and green or yellow + purple would have been better?
Thank you so much for this tip I love what the community is contributing here
@@Gatabud similar indeed, i was hoping that there would be some kind of color blind mode in the game settings but no... hopefully in an update!
If I ever get noticed by Square Enix I'll suggest this on your behalf.
I keep falling when it goes green and I’m half pressing it
You gotta squeeze it for a full push right when the circle finishes filling green
I gave up the plat trophy as soon as I seen some of the piano bs
PS: beating gilgamesh and perhaps the game on hardmode is where it’s at, some of these mini games are just a wait of time; yea eventually you will get them all but at what fun level? games are meant to be fun, and some of these mini games are not fun at all but a chore ; I mean what you going to do pause the 3d brawler game over and over just to get some digital trophy ? lol
I agree some of these mini games are harder than actual bosses and complete BS.
That's why I'm doing these first. If I don't platinum I want it to be because I can't beat a super boss, not because I couldn't do enough sit-ups
I actually am having fun because to me finding a way to win at anything is fun. Sure I'd prefer to be on hard mode by now and battling the big bosses, but I'll get there
Finally beating him for the second time🎉!!! FFre and FFrb
Here what helped me first mute the game,,,only focus on Tifa don’t worry about him he will eventually slip giving you time to beat him….here is the important part don’t know about colors,,,But when R2/L2 start to glow look for the arrow on top of it,,,if it was moving that mean quick tap,,,if it still not moving that mean push the trigger half or less and wait till the circle fully complete then push the trigger again harder...the it will be a matter of time until u beat this secret boss…I swear when I learned this mechanic it got lot lot easier. Good luck everyone if it helps anyone please tell me 😊
Ps.put the trigger sensitivity at 1
That's awesome I'm so happy to hear that, good job and thank you for sharing your tips
Hello can someone help me with the green trigger 😥
Slowly squeeze halfway while you gradually increase the squeeze and when the circle fills abruptly pull all the way.
@@Gatabud thank you a lot🫶🏻 I have finally beat him after two days. If that can help someone, try to put adaptive trigger at two
I hope whoever programmed this minigame gets demoted
I have quite a few suggestions for whoever programmed this. Mostly accessibility related. Colorblind people are going through hell with this, I still want to know how the accessibility controller performs here. I hope you get this win though, you can do it;
When you realise that they haven't done a pushup or burpies challenge and there is still one more game to go...
We are so screwed in part 3
But I have toot my own horn lol I got good at this mini game without ever playing the demo so I had NO practice before yesterday
It wasn't in the demo, a similar version was in remake though. Mixed opinions on which is harder
Looking at the trophy guide, I don't see how this is necessary towards any trophy. The closest to it would be "Are You Not Entertained?" but that's for brawler at the Golden saucer. I gave up on beating Jules. It's too much of my life wasted. 😂
Good question - getting every single collectable for Johnny's Inn is what this Minigame (and all others) fall under. One mini game can nuke a platinum trophy
@@GatabudYeah, I looked up what Johnny needed... seriously Johnny, why?
Im on level 1 and it tells me to hold r2!!!! I held in half way and i always fall. Wtf!!!??! 🤬 doesnt tell me sh*t
If we don’t get a tifa and scarlet mini game I’m gonna riot
🤣🤣🤣🤣
They should have a colorblind option for this, I think.
Yes the colorblind issue is significant and there isn't a good way to deal with it other than try to guess which is which.
@Gatabud Yeah. I spent a half-hour trying different timings, buttons, and what-not. I saw a bit of colour in the bar, but I never made it past the first challenge at that part with the buddy because the colors weren't clear to me.
@Gatabud love the game otherwise though. Haha. They could use a colorblind option though. Haha. With an extreme-level Traumatic Brain Injury the half-press timings before rapid or full-press just addressing the Hell out of me.
I am probably going to end up doing a Livestream down the road of me helping people like you remotely using share play. Follow my Gatabud Insta to make sure you don't miss out, it'll probably happen later next month after my MBA semester is over
@@Gatabud Just did.
If you can beat this minigame you can get the plat. This is by far the worst one out of the bunch just like it was in Remake. I can only assume Jules isnt done with us yet and will be having his chance at further tormenting us in part 3 with Push Ups. Its the only one left that I can think of.
I think you're 100% correct on all comments. We just need push-ups to go back to remake style using normal buttons
Yeah' I'm not doing this. I can't go fast enough and I have a hard time with the triggers. And after a while I just lose the button pattern. Call it a skill issue but remake was so much easier. Why couldn't they keep that?
Remake was difficult but doable for almost everyone. This is something else
@@Gatabud agreed. And personally I find the back triggers more difficult then X, square, triangle and o. Maybe that's just me tho
I did too, I tried very hard to find a way to restore this back to remake style using the original buttons, you just can't get around using L2 and R2, the game is programmed to look at the pressure on those and if it can't then the button press won't register. Controller got dropped and the functionality of that was impaired? Can't use it. A lot of issues
If u think these mini games are hard y'all are never gonna get the plat u also have to do brutal difficulty chadley challenge one is round 1 Phoenix, kujata, round 2 titan bahamut, 3 Odin, Alexander, 4 giglemesh,5 souped up sephiroth
I am super excited for these battles and I look forward to making videos on this.
Wanna talk accessibility nightmare...I'm colorblind...I've been on this challenge for 6 hours...
Someone has mentioned this, inverted colors and high contrast is apparently helpful. I'm so sorry this stinks so bad for you! SE needs to work on this!!
I have announced a live help event if you still need it: th-cam.com/users/shortsmSFPXfDnL50?feature=share
Omg i finally beat fucking Jules after 3 hours and 4 minutes lol. 56 to 50. I couldnt set the triggers to 0, i had to do 3 because the sensivity let me know i was pressing light enough. Somehow impossible with 0. Also turned off music and put a cover over jules side. Lol i might have arthritis now. Also saved asap b4 some bullshit happened with my ps5 or something lol
I just slowly do a gradual squeeze and then when it finishes filling I abruptly pull to finish the full press.
This trophy is really infuriating me. The more attempts I put in, the more tired my hands get and the harder it gets to pull off the mashing.
This can get rough and it's important to take breaks if your fingers get sore. You're gonna get in a vicious cycle of frustration otherwise. Keep me posted on progress
On my best attempt I was winning with 10 seconds left and then had an early input fail :( The other frustrating part of this trophy is, I feel like I'm stuck at this part of the game until I get past it. I'm done with the rest of the side quests in the chapter and I can't really progress with the main objectives or else I might miss my chance to get it until chapter select. Oh well. I know I'll get it, but this one is just extra annoying with having to mash the analog triggers. I really wish we could do the controller remapping like you mentioned in the video.@@Gatabud
You won't miss your opportunity at all. After finishing Corel, you can effortlessly return in the next chapter, and then after completing the next region you can return for the most part until the point of no return in chapter 13. Take a break and have a lil fun and come back
Thanks man. This just saved my sanity.@@Gatabud
Keep in touch!
I half held the r2 and when it fills up i press all the way down she falls 🤬 WTF!!!!!!!!!!?????????? AaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh😅
Slowly increase the pressure while the circle is filling then do full squeeze. It's really frustrating how little feedback you get from the game and how finicky this can be
I can't Pasa the 1st rotation It's just annoying
Just keep practicing, and follow all the tips in the video as well as these comments and you will get there. Keep me posted
Why is Tifa not in a bikini? This is a crime in of itself.
Because I wanted to bait someone into commenting asking that exact question 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also I didn't want my wife to be like what on earth are you playing!?
@@Gatabud Yeah. Fair enough. You got me.
The L2 half press bullshit is what kept tripping me up 🤦🏽♂️
Me too, once It clicked I was on a roll
They need to add difficulty Settings for mini games
I think this one is just unreasonable for a lot of people and could use a redesign
This is easy compared to the end game stuff
I'm finally starting the endgame stuff, gonna film Gilgamesh tonight. Been spending so much time cranking out these videos 🤣🤣🤣
But don't get me wrong I don't like this mini game at all I couldn't wait to get the hell out of that gym
I also didn't like it
Bro. I can't even hit the button u have to hit multiple times in rank one. I could hit it no problem with the girl but the dude I can't hit it
I've literally tried 22 times and I can't get a hit in rank one but can against the tutorial.
It's probably green now and you have to do that slight hold mechanic that I explained in the video. Let me know if that helps
I've gotto be honest I jumped through and I deserve it
@@thebootyman27 bro we all do it myself included lol
I keep trying and can't do this half hold mechanic? Like what?
Yeah I have no intention of ever attempting the Platinum for this game. The piano mini game is ridiculous. Whoever thought precise joystick movements for a minigame was a good idea should never be allowed to create video games again. Don't they know how many of us deal with stick drift LOL come on dude. This is basic video game knowledge. On top of that there are so many mini games. I would have much rather had some more unique boss fights and encounters rather than all of these immersion breaking mini games. It felt like every time I was getting invested into the story I would be abruptly stopped having to learn some boring minigame that is usually set up for you to have a perfect run to Beat It for all the rewards. Then they change Condor and it sucks now. It was great in remake. What's going on over there at Square Enix
There were definitely some difficult ones and I have my stated issues with this one and that's also applicable to piano but all in all I had fun.
I share your opinion, I understand that minigames are part and parcel of final fantasy games but the sheer quantity of the minigames in rebirth are really immersion breaking when it comes to the story. Feels like too much filler content. I have kids now and don't have the time I used to.
I hate jules and want to summon bahamut and make it to giga flare to smash the gym down 🎉
I'm dealing with Jules again and it's miserable
I actually didn't find it as hard as I thought it was going to be. I found the one in remake a lot harder. I'd say do not look at the time or the number and just count out loud 1 2 3 4 as you press. I didn't need to map any buttons or anything
I had way more trouble with this one than the remake one but if you're a big FPS player then maybe this one is easier
A few attempts before doing it I took 49 to 48 for Jules and I wanted to commit suicide XD...Then after 3/4 attempts I won with 53 to 49...he almost always reaches 49
Glad you got it!
Why do games insist on have that one annoying as fk thing?
To make you earn greatness. Unfortunately in this case it's a near useless accessory this time around.
Will devs actually fix this because its simply bad game design. Its not the players fault if its this inaccessible to players. Im blaming devs and im not touching this minigame until its fixed. Platinum is not worth it im going to smash my controller if i keep at this.
As a software engineer, I have quite a bit of issues I would want to fix if given the opportunity. It's beatable but it's frustrating
Best tip for this minigame: give up. Trust me, the final side quest requires replying all GS minigames and getting ridiculously high scores. The platinum for this game is simply not worth the frustration. May be the worst platinum since 9 (jump rope BS)
That jump rope game was one heck of a requirement, but the Excalibur II requirement was pretty wild as well. I'm a proud platinum holder for 9
@@Gatabud wow congrats! I got everything in that game but the jump rope and the 10K kills. I would of grinded the kills if I could get the jump rope one lol.
Funny thing is, I played all the games at the beginning of the chapter before getting the UPA quest, and got Rank 3 in all of them. The only one I couldn't get first try was the 3D Brawler. I dunno, the rest felt really easy.
@@asaffin1 that's awesome! Sadly, a lot of us aren't as skilled at some of the minigames lol
@@jamjam445 We all have our own challenges lol. I can ace G-Bike but I have to turn off my triggers and the music to beat Jules at crunches.
I absolutely hate this... They made it even more ridiculous with the green because here it is really sensitive! You can't push the button down to far to fast or you blow the set up! I just can't get this one when it's green. If it's yellow I can at least do that one it isn't as bad... You just push down as fast as you can, but the green is just ridiculous in an event like this! Mini games should be fun something added as something fun to do not this ridiculous crap! I'd love to get my hands on the person who put this nonsense in this game! FF7 OG had a lot of mini games but not this many and not this ridiculously hard! Many of these sadistic mini games are perfection only... You can't make a mistake... You have to play absolutely flawless in order to obtain it... Now tell me, where is the fun in that? This will be the only thing keeping me from the Platinum. It must be amazing to be so damn perfect to expect such perfection from everyone else in a game that should actually be fun!
The green half pull causes so many problems for people. I completely understand your frustration and I feel it's warranted. What works for me is i immediately start with like a 1/3 pull and as the circle fills up I very slowly squeeze a little harder gradually. I've found the failures come when you squeeze less hard. When the green circle fills I immediately do a full squeeze. Keep me posted on progress, and have you seen my pinned comment about the upcoming live event later this month where I'm going to help people? Stay in touch
2 hours I was stuck on that last part, horrible. Worst part of final fantasy 7 rebirth is all these stupid mini games
Hate it so much!
Literally worst decision they ever made
I definitely have issues with this specific mini game because of my stated accessibility concerns. I hope you end up having success
