Jon and Craig, actually quite a bit of Engineering in the top motor mount.
The engine grows taller and shrinks back down with each heat and cooling cycle. One of the MANY reasons for aluminum heads and especially cylinders with a aluminum engine case. Everything grows at a similar expansion rate.
That being said, the top mount needs shouldered studs, and a thick flat washer between each head and the top mount.

I cringed a little at 2:12. I remember, back in the early 1970s, how I scored "show chromed" fork tubes from Barney's and from Forking by Frank as I pushed those fork tubes through the bottom triple clamp. Yeah, I used screwdrivers and other jerry-rigged wedges to open up the slots in bottom clamps. Still, I screwed up the chrome on the fork tubes. It's an imperfect world. Besides, I built bikes to be ridden, not garage queens. Thanks, John, Craig, Paul, and Andrew.

Top engine mount takes studs with nuts, and yous also forgot to put the shim under the generator that stops the gear from wearing out. 👏🏻
