    New Warselection rebalance update
    Replace Cannon Kolossal to Gustav Cannon
    -500 Damage per shot

    -Able to build railway for the cannon movement.

    • @SolomonRaz

      I think that´s what this cannon is based off just without the train tracks because that would be difficult to implement into the game for one type of weapon. Just like they called it the marlboro and Rhombos Tank instead of Churchill and Mark IV Tank for Great Britain

    • @SolomonRaz
      @SolomonRaz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Versus Squadron Cannon Bertha should win.
      Has more armour and higher damage but the accuracy makes it a bit risky.
      With germans now I play almost only flamethrowers and Berthas, yes.
      Maus Tanks are fun, Cannon Kolossal is good for trolling/supporting and the Panther Tanks are not that terrible.
      Just the Goliath Operator is absolutely pointless.

    Maus was never built. It didn't even have a proper turret and was still at a early testing phase.

    • @SolomonRaz
      @SolomonRaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That´s just incorrect, two prototypes were built the turrets were installed but with a delay.
      Tests were finished and 150 pieces were ordered but the order was cancelled. The Maus was built but never saw combat as I mentioned in the video.

    • @LitlBlackDragonNinja
      @LitlBlackDragonNinja 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SolomonRaz Uh, no? Check the Wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panzer_VIII_Maus Only one turret, still in in testing phase. Prototypes do not count as built functioning tanks.

    • @SolomonRaz
      @SolomonRaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LitlBlackDragonNinja I checked the wiki before. Why does a prototype not count? It is built, it´s name is Maus, it´s tested and was even sent to protect a specific area.

    • @LitlBlackDragonNinja
      @LitlBlackDragonNinja 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SolomonRaz Hi, it doesn't count because it is a prototype and also there were two hulls built and one turret, meaning that there weren't two actual functioning tanks built. If memory serves me right, according to one WW2 documentary, the only build turret was also a prototype design, made out of steel-concrete, and not full steel homogeneous armor, as it was supposed to be. Also, a prototype is not a fully functional and operational regular tank, just check MBT70 & XM-1 - the Abrams prototypes. Do you think that they should count to the numbers of the regular Abrams tanks?
      During the prototype phase, too many changes may and will be made because the design would go through series of tests with the goal of improving the design and fixing the issues that may occur, like the gearbox being too weak and being prone to breaking or the armor protection deemed insufficient or detrimental to the normal driving of the tank and etc. There may not be that many visual changes but internal mechanism may be completely changed and then you should ask yourself is a prototype that looks very similar to the production version the same vehicle, if there were too many changes done to it?
      I also think that the Germans were not stupid people and if they had more time, they'd test the design of the Maus and get to the conclusion that it as completely not viable. The British and the American and also the Soviets had their programs for super heavy tanks that never left the design/prototype phase. You could say that the Maus was a built model in testing phase but saying that it was built like a regular production tank that went through the design process, testing and was approved for "mass" production is for me just silly. If I misunderstood you in the video, then I apologize for that.
      Check a youtuber called Spookston - he reads the books on tanks and makes videos about various machines. When he talks about unfinished designs, he references to them like that or just models, prototypes and such.

    • @SolomonRaz
      @SolomonRaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@LitlBlackDragonNinja Well in the german wikipedia it´s said that they had finished testing and sent the prototypes to defend a position, they call it the "Maus" AND prototype also in both wikipedias they show the maus tank and also call it Maus. So while it is the prototype, it´s all there ever was and they called it maus. The didn´t produce the final product, we both know that. If I call the Maus prototype that was actually built and finished testing (since they had already placed orders on producing it) the maus and nothing else exists then I assume that everybody understands what I am referring to. So while You are correct that the prototype is not the final product, there was no final product and the name for the prototype was maus. Quite unlikely they´d have called the final tank maus (german for mouse) after calling most of their tanks after dangerous cats. The original name for the project of this super heavy tank line was Mammut (Mammoth) but they changed it to mouse to distract enemy spies from its importance.
      However I really appreciate your elaborated information! I can see you put a lot of effort into it. I did not specify that the real thing was a prototype I am referring to in the video and to be honest, I don´t think it´s necessary since the focus of the video is on the game. The game does not try to be historically accurate, it actually sees itself as a pseudo-historical game. So if there are people who want to go deeper into the matter they will watch videos from historical youtubers.
      From what I´ve read on wikipedia it´s fine to call the maus prototypes Maus.. and even the prototypes were tanks. So calling them maus tanks is not really an error.
      I would say everybody who knows as much as you do will understand I´m referring to the prototypes.

    • @SolomonRaz
      @SolomonRaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NiceEvils In very late game (after one hour of playtime) Germany becomes pretty much the strongest nation if they haven´t been raided a lot before. They get their defensive Pillboxes that denies the enemy from a wheeled tanks snipe or T-34 snipe, combined with anti-tank hedgehogs you can wipe an entire tank army while being afk. With a few defensive Berthas You can make sure that they won´t come through. At the same time You get the Maus Tank which for example russia can barely defend against. And the Panther tank has armor values comparable to a heavy tank but the speed of a medium tank. Just getting there is really expensive and takes a long time. But overall Germany has the late-game potential to deal a really heavy punch. They only get hard countered by Great Britain so far, especially on sea maps. To put this into perspective...
      Russia on the other hand spikes in power shortly after reaching IR, which is why the meta currently is Eastern European Light Knights -> Russia with Soldiers and Death Scyhtes. Late Game Russia´s potential is merely the potential of a support player basically. Anti-Air Defense is really nice but with the upcoming changes it will not be so special anymore. IS-2 and T-34 Tank Spam will be viable but can get countered by any nation and Katyushas are in my opinion only good against a spam of infantry or Berthas or stuff like that, really weak against buildings in general. The Flamethrower tank is barely ever used, I think.
      Before the first Bertha Nerf the Berthas were almost like more powerful light cannons which you could use to quickly roam the enemy territory and take out a few enemies. After the first nerf they could still outrun Bomber Balloons, now the Berthas cannot and have to be combined with Rangers to defend against Balloons and cavalry that is also often sent against them.
      I like the idea of having a powerful unit that You still have to combine with another unit and can´t just spam one unit.

      @@SolomonRaz thanks for your thoughts. I only just started the game like 3 days ago so its nice to hear the opinion of someone seasoned. I've been struggling against the Turks. People like to build a mass of towers around a wonder, the bombardment towers and win that way. They also combine it with some air defense. Have you seen this play style before? I've yet to find a way to counter it.

    • @SolomonRaz
      @SolomonRaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NiceEvils Gladly anytime. I´m very responsive regarding comments and I gladly try to visualize answers by making videos if I feel like my explanations don´t result in people in understanding what I meant.
      The combination you were talking about is indeed not bad. However the Mortars cost a lot of ressources, take up quite a bit of space, have a limited firing range (350-500 range) so any unit closer or farther away is safe and the fire rate is not too brutal. Typically any tank spam can get through, if they are supported by light cannons which will easily destroy any tank approach then a big spam of bomber balloons will do the trick. It always depends on what they combine it all with. Overall that´s one of the reasons why I recommend turkey to many new players since it is overall pretty decent. However their lack of good armoured units (They have APCs and Heavy Tanks) Turkey cannot rely on their unique units so often. The Mortars are often easily outrun and destroyed when you rush them and if they buckle up sooner or later they run out of ressources. I haven´t struggled against Turkey for a while.
      Basically if they have Light Cannons you send Balloons and if they have snipers you send APCs which you have to micromanage by changing their direction of movement every 1-2 seconds so that the mortar towers miss. Overall Russia deals quite well with Turkey when played right.

    Does Germany have any anti anti air

    • @SolomonRaz
      @SolomonRaz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah in IR2 You can build Pillboxes and then upgrade them into heavy pillboxes or anti-air pillboxes. It´s pretty expensive and takes a looooong time. So Air is pretty much the weakness of germany which is why you will usually see players accompanying their berthas with rangers which are suppoed to clear enemy infantry, cavalry and air units for the Berthas to work their magic.

    how would i defeat Germany's big bertha?

    • @SolomonRaz
      @SolomonRaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Now with the update they have been made slower, so flanking with units like light cannons while they are distracted by tank destroyers of Great Britain is one way, but there is not really an effective way to counter them in the game as of yet, while germany´s other units lack proper viability the berthas are the only units worth building with germany. Now that Aviation is coming out that will probably be the main counter to most of what we see in the current meta, except for wheeled tanks but they can be countered easily already so that´s fine. Just stay calm and pray for aviation to be implemented into team-matches ;-)

    • @SolomonRaz
      @SolomonRaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, it shouldn´t. Germany is already very weak with all the new air units and the high costs for everything. Germany is weak, they only have the bertha, that´s all they have throughout most of the game. I don´t say the bertha needs a buff but it definitely shouldn´t get nerfed further...
