    Newcastle are such a joy to watch. Incisive in attack. Aggressive in defense. So many top athletes who are also technically high level. The success rate of the recruitment is crazy when compared with the way other teams have splashed the cash on garbage. Quality analysis again!

      I agree, since Howe took over, I can’t think of any poor signings…
      Perhaps Chris Wood, but even he did what was expected, and he helped us avoid relegation that season?
      And now he’s doing very well for Forest, after Newcastle recouped some of the cash they spent on him.

    Newcastle has such a great team ethos at the moment (easier when you're winning), which is why Isak is happy to assist instead of getting a hat-trick. The players are running through walls for each other.

I'm very grateful to have your reports to listen to because there's so much drivel spouted on other sites. You don't waffle or waste words and that's a gift, believe me. What’s interesting about the Tonali situation is that during his year out he worked on certain areas such as physical strength and explosive pace/change of pace. This is making sports scientists consider the implications of this. By this I mean taking a player out of the squad to improve them.

    Tonali moves around the pitch like he's already seen a video of the game sent from the future and just needs to remember where to go to break up the attacks. Superb reading of the game combined with elite athleticism. Was worth losing for a year to have Milan sell him to us at that price (they definitely knew what was coming).

    If we get Champions League he's 100% signing a new contract. We've got enough Ashley era remnants on high wages whose contracts are up in the summer. Even if we don't make any large sales we'll be able to double Isak's wages next season. Tonali has also come out today saying he owes it to the fans and the club to stay here until he's won things with us. Hopefully that will shut up the Italian press.

    • @JoeyMills-y3v
      @JoeyMills-y3v 7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      There are many ways to pay a player indirectly, especially if you own an entire country lol. For example, you could employ some of the player's relatives at huge wages for easy work at another company you own, throw in accommodation, stock compensation, etc... easy & perfectly legal.

    Tonali in the 6 is what has unlocked us offensively. We were struggling a lot early to score and be dangerous. Once Tonali dropped into the 6 it allowed Bruno to help unlock our right side and his creativity in the final 3rd has allowed Isak to get going... Isak started the season slow, until Tonali came into the 6...

    Alice, the stat you quoted for Isak is inaccurate. It is 15 goals and 5 assists in 19 for him. 20 G/A contributions just in the EPL. Anthony Gordon, magic, has 5 goals and 4 assists in this record breaking run for us. Isak may get all the headlines but AG has been contributing his fair share. Burn and Botman were solid today. Burn has simply became undroppable. We struggled to break down wolves in the 1st. Especially those diagonal balls from Schär were missed today. Dubravka has been playing well and totally deserved his clean sheet today. 10 games and 10 wins for him personally. Pope is not going back in goal for some time. Up the toon!
    EDIT: Forgot to say the midfield engine is Sandro Tonali. What a player!

      Different players...JL is a tank that holds onto the ball in impossible situations. I thought Ando was great, but clearly Eddie preferred to keep JL, so who will argue with Eddie Howe?

    Wasn't the prettiest performance, but we may have been conserving a bit for the bigger challenge against Bournemouth on Saturday. 3 goals, 3 points, and up into 4th though? I'll take it!

    All this talk about Isak to Arsenal but Newcastle need a RW and could start talking to Saka (a boyhood nufc fan) about a move in a years time, if he doesn’t sign a new deal.

    Selling Anderson really hurt me but don’t underestimate Big Joelinton! Anderson wouldn’t be ahead of him yet. We do have Lewis Miley to groom into the midfield long term too!

    No one talking about dubravka....bcz he is soo good at ball...he gives our defenders a safe option to back pass....if there is pope he'll clear the ball....but when dubravka comes and changed everything... that's why we all disagree with his trasfer...and then he stayed.

    practical comments: 1,. Joelinton is looking tired. Miley to give him a break? 2. What has happened to Livramento's attacking contribuions? in 23/24 he was doing what Hall is doing now -- master of attack and defense. We just aren't seeing that same level of contribution this season. i hope that he isn't frustrated. As far as I'm concerened NUFC have England's first-choice right-back and left-back.
