theory: it's from a movie. as in, it was some movie, producers wanted a song to play as a character was getting ready and had to turn off their radio to get the door or phone, but they didnt want to pay the licensing fees for an actual song, especially when they were only gonna use like 20 seconds of it in the first place, so they got people to create ~30 seconds of a plausible radio hit and no "full" version was ever produced, and its never been identified as such because it was 'hidden' well enough/blended well enough into the background that nobody remembered it. i hope im wrong cuz i iwant the full thing the instant it becomes available
That actually makes a lot of sense, I've watched movies where the music just seemed too fitting for the part (lyrically) and I would song search with Google only for it to not exist (pretty sure the movie was called "odd girl out" or something)
My mother said she heard this song in a movie, she said she doesn't remember the movie because it's old but she thinks maybe it could be the movie "13 going on 30" (But I really doubt it's from a movie or this movie in particular.)
I like to research Japanese fashion and pop culture from the 80s - 2010s and EKT warms my heart. The accent of the guy sounds like a Japanese man fluent in English (based on the way he pronounces certain words, like others have pointed out) it sounds like a Japanese pop singer making an English version of a Japanese song, probably for a b-side or as a secondary single for a more worldwide audience. I believe this is a real song, but because specific japanese media from the 80s and 90s can be hard to find *online* I highly doubt we will find the song on the internet.

i feel like instead of "you've got" as we all thought, its "you cant" if you take a look at what people think the instruments are made of a yamaha DX-7, which was made and VERY popular in japan, taking that factor into consideration as well as the fact that many agree that the singer has an english sort of accent from japan, slowing the audio down you can tell that the singer is enunciating a "c" like the word can't. due to the backtrack it can sound like "got" because of mixing. idk if this makes sense but im hoping it does haha
Hey guys I found out my parents have a LOT of cd disks around and I have a cd player, I could try to listen to all the music there and see if I can find it (probably ain’t even there lmfao but worth the try) however it does have a lot of obscure bands and music
After looking this up, I was on Genius the lyrics said “You’re counting on a shifting disguise” which I personally think could be the actual lyrics, because it makes sense
You know, I’ve actually been thinking about how these two songs have a similar beat to them. It’s not entirely impossible that the romantics wrote this song.
As someone swedish, this is NOT Roxette like everybody thinks. Roxette was a Rock pop duo of Marie and Per. they have different voices, Per was with a previous band and his vocals don't sound like it either. It's NOT 2 vocalists, it's a dubbed song. I believe this is Jermaine Stewart singing this demo or Limahl! Their vocals match this the most
They certainly sound very Roxette + Culture Club influenced, but i'm almost positive its neither. The Linn Drum machine makes me think it was most likely originally from the 80's of course - the Linn Drum machine was MADE from 1982-1985 but its still used on FL Studio today, so its hard to really narrow down exactly when the song itself was made and recorded. I think it very well could be some lost Euro-pop song that PERHAPS was translated as one commenter mentioned here - from German or something to English making the lyrics a bit off and hard to find online ? (think some of Falco's hits, but this is NOT FALCO lol) RIP FALCO ~
"Everyone Knows That" is a song released by Leonard Cohen in 1988. Leonard Cohen, a renowned Canadian singer-songwriter, was the creator of both the song and the entire album. He is known for his poetic and melancholic style, earning praise for his influence on contemporary music. Cohen is acclaimed for his profound lyrics and distinctive deep voice.
Maybe this was a prerecorded demo of a song for an 80s artist. It could be an unknown singer who made the demo for this artist and the song is probably unreleased so a new recording of it was never recorded by the artist it was made for. Just a theory
This was a setup from the beginning and we all got pranked lol. Pretty hilarious either way. I hope we get a studio/radio quality version of this song without the moans. Was this song in anything else other than the adult film or was it specifically made to be in that flick?
It sounds like it should be playing in the background in a cafe scene with lots of teens chatting there in a soap like Neighbours or Home And Away. It has such a generic feel to it that I don't think the composer and band expected it to be a hit - it was just background noise that was right for the programme of those times.

This song exists, I’ve heard it on the radio, the artist was never mentioned but it does indeed exist. the part where it cuts off is very very familiar. This song is on TH-cam but hard to find, the chorus is not in the song, think about it like this For example im using “cold hearted” by Paula Abdul for an example Say that was lost, And the sample was “he’s a lover boy at play, he don’t play by rules, girl don’t play the fool, no” It sounds like a chorus, but people wouldn’t be able to find the actual title, the title is “cold hearted” even though the songs chorus is “he’s a cold hearted SNAKE” The possible reason why this song is lost is because of a title we don’t know of yet.
@@Alexthefancollector I will, I’ve been looking all week like really hard to find it again/ hear it again I’m going online on the radios website and on TH-cam channels etc, I live in a Spanish area that has access to understated songs and musicians, I swear I’ve heard it before and im genuinely dedicating time into this because it matters a lot to a lot of us
This is by FAR my favorite piece of lost songs. Yet I hate it for how CATCHY it is, and how it just plops us in the middle of it. So I, uh, made up lyrics COMPLETELY off of vibes: (Verse): Shes got it all planned out She acts so honest but Everyone knows that (shes got) An ulterior motive (what is the truth) Pre chorus: You’re counting all the sheep in sky Caught up in a world of lies (Chorus) Everyone knows that (shes got) Ulterior motives (tell me the truth Every moves shows that (shes got) Ulterior motives (why won’t you tell me the truth) Cuz she’s got (Verse) Shes got herself all caught up In a deceptive trap of her own design Too caught, too trapped to realize That her ulterior motives is the reason For her own demise (Pre-chorus) Because you’re still counting all the sheep in the sky Still caught up in a world of lies And this is what I came up with *NOTE* :This is purely my creative outlook on it. This is not a real song/real lyrics produced in a studio, or that I have found full lyrics. I have simply dealt with the frustration of not hearing the full thing with my creative talent Do not ask me where I got this lead, because it ISNT A LEAD, just made up lyrics that match the vibe of whats known
This feels distinctly like a song made for a comercial, it could have existed before or in a more full form but it feels like it is trying to sell me something, my instincts say pepsi or some other soft drink
My interpretation of lyrics (very opinion): You carry all the shame in disguise, Caught up in a world of lies, Everyone knows that you've got, Misterious Motives - _Swapped because of compression of the letter "S" and "M"._ (Tell me the truth) Every move shows that...
Youre counting all your sheep in the side Caught up in a world of lies Everyone know that (youve got) Ulterior motives Tell em the truth Everyone knows it
If this was part of an actual Ad, then how come nobody remembers that sound to confirm this mystery? I mean some should be able to tell that they at least heard this couple times back in the day. Just like i still remember all the commercial music they played in the TV around 2001 that are no longer accessible, however i can still recall them deep in my head to this exact day.
Some of you are definitely too young to remember how music used to be. -The notion this is a “demo” is simply wrong. Demos didn’t get played on TV. -That’s why this isn’t a commercial. Or from a video. -The more I listen, the more I realize this was probably recorded off Music Choice/Stingray. -People are convince it’s “every move”, consider the possibility it’s “every look” Here’s a challenge for someone really interested. Contact stingray/music choice. Ask them if they still have playlists from the later 90s. Key on independent or 80s songs.
i sent this to my mum to see if she knew anything about it, and she recognized it, though she didn't agree that it sounded like anything from roxette or savage garden as those were possible theories in the past. she said it has a sort of boy george vibe to it

@@Idontknow_guineapigs I thought it was too for a brief moment. Then I thought it was “you’re counting all the sheep in the sky”, but then I figured that “you carry all the shame in disguise” kinda fits with the rest of the lyrics that we know of.
@@CometMedalChavezIt might fit better context wise but it doesn't sound like that's what's being said at all, especially if you listen to the other remastered version
@@rexpantsI feel like a possible combination of the singer maybe not annunciating and the low quality might be making it sound a different way in remasters. I’ve had moments listening to older songs where the word “band” sounded like the word “thing” because of that stuff
i feel like instead of "you've got" as we all thought, its "you cant" if you take a look at what people think the instruments are made of a yamaha DX-7, which was made and VERY popular in japan, taking that factor into consideration as well as the fact that many agree that the singer has an english sort of accent from japan, slowing the audio down you can tell that the singer is enunciating a "c" like the word can't. due to the backtrack it can sound like "got" because of mixing.
idk if this makes sense but im hoping it does haha
Part of me feels like we aren't even looking in the right places.

I worked on this song in the 80s, im the bassist

song name is The noblemen - Ulterior motives
Assuming you're not lying, was the song made for Angels of Passion, or was it made, then later used in that movie?
i wonder why nobody mentioned this before but it sounds a LOT like michael jackson!
Could this have been sung by the romantics? or an earlier demo of talking in your sleep? The beat sounds so similar to me!
EVERYONE KNOWS THATT🔥🔥🔥
I’m obsessed with this song
"Everyone Knows That" is a song released by Leonard Cohen in 1988. Leonard Cohen, a renowned Canadian singer-songwriter, was the creator of both the song and the entire album. He is known for his poetic and melancholic style, earning praise for his influence on contemporary music. Cohen is acclaimed for his profound lyrics and distinctive deep voice.
nuh uh
That’s « Everybody Knows », which is a totally different song but still a jam.
Yes@@UnseenHuntress
Nuh uh
Maybe this was a prerecorded demo of a song for an 80s artist. It could be an unknown singer who made the demo for this artist and the song is probably unreleased so a new recording of it was never recorded by the artist it was made for. Just a theory
This was a setup from the beginning and we all got pranked lol. Pretty hilarious either way. I hope we get a studio/radio quality version of this song without the moans. Was this song in anything else other than the adult film or was it specifically made to be in that flick?
The best 17 seconds i ever heard
It sounds like it should be playing in the background in a cafe scene with lots of teens chatting there in a soap like Neighbours or Home And Away. It has such a generic feel to it that I don't think the composer and band expected it to be a hit - it was just background noise that was right for the programme of those times.
Instead, it was played in a totally different scene in a certain type of movie 😭😭😭
i want this song to be found so goddamn badly its acftually so good 😭

Goin' to the hospital, Because of the dull.
No one's thinkin' or blinkin', But we're sinkin'.
And I'm walking, I'm talking, I see your lies;
You soon will not be able to fly.

I'm calling my friend ian, 'Cause he'll exterminate your lies
And now your gone and you've lost your eyes

this is technically the first snippet of a song ever made and its impressive
My thought this whole time is that it's a song from a scene in an 80s, possibly early 90s movie. A song that was played in the movie but not on the actual soundtrack.

This song exists, I’ve heard it on the radio, the artist was never mentioned but it does indeed exist.
the part where it cuts off is very very familiar.
This song is on TH-cam but hard to find, the chorus is not in the song, think about it like this
For example im using “cold hearted” by Paula Abdul for an example
Say that was lost,
And the sample was “he’s a lover boy at play, he don’t play by rules, girl don’t play the fool, no”
It sounds like a chorus, but people wouldn’t be able to find the actual title, the title is “cold hearted” even though the songs chorus is “he’s a cold hearted SNAKE”
The possible reason why this song is lost is because of a title we don’t know of yet.

“You can’t ignore that she’s in the sky”
“Caught up in your world, of lies”
Makes sense
This is by FAR my favorite piece of lost songs. Yet I hate it for how CATCHY it is, and how it just plops us in the middle of it.
So I, uh, made up lyrics COMPLETELY off of vibes:
(Verse):
Shes got it all planned out
She acts so honest but
Everyone knows that (shes got)
An ulterior motive (what is the truth)
Pre chorus:
You’re counting all the sheep in sky
Caught up in a world of lies
(Chorus)
Everyone knows that (shes got)
Ulterior motives (tell me the truth
Every moves shows that (shes got)
Ulterior motives (why won’t you tell me the truth)
Cuz she’s got
(Verse)
Shes got herself all caught up
In a deceptive trap of her own design
Too caught, too trapped to realize
That her ulterior motives is the reason
For her own demise
(Pre-chorus)
Because you’re still counting all the sheep in the sky
Still caught up in a world of lies
And this is what I came up with
*NOTE* :This is purely my creative outlook on it. This is not a real song/real lyrics produced in a studio, or that I have found full lyrics. I have simply dealt with the frustration of not hearing the full thing with my creative talent
Do not ask me where I got this lead, because it ISNT A LEAD, just made up lyrics that match the vibe of whats known
This song could be an Italo disco era song of some obscure band/singer. The beat is on spot also the whole vibe of it.
this song is perfect
June 7, 2025 we will find this song
I’ll be back on that date

Why this is so catchy

If it's copyrighted, go talk to whoever copyrighted it and find the name from them.
it originally cut off at "shows-" so my question is how did you get the "that" or did you just edit it
Wow this is really high quality! Especially compared to the OG. Have you done a HQ version of DFHAD (dance for hours a day)?
This feels distinctly like a song made for a comercial, it could have existed before or in a more full form but it feels like it is trying to sell me something, my instincts say pepsi or some other soft drink
That's what I've been thinking, that maybe this wasn't an actual song and that it was just some short commercial jingle.
It was trying to sell you… Coca-Cola…
I feel like ive heard this somewhere before when i was little during s fieldtrip
oh god
I doubt they would show this song (given the context of what it was written for) to kids lmao
@@kitkatkk2 mr candy becoming uncanny compalation
Swofford made a great recreation of what the song coulve sounded like
If only this had been the B-side on Father Dougal's record! We would never had to hear "My lovely horse".
My interpretation of lyrics (very opinion):
You carry all the shame in disguise,
Caught up in a world of lies,
Everyone knows that you've got,
Misterious Motives - _Swapped because of compression of the letter "S" and "M"._
(Tell me the truth)
Every move shows that...
I agree with that the first part could be true, but it is definitely ulterior motives and not mysterious motives
i hear “you carry all your shame in the sky, caught up in a world of lies, and everyone knows that, you’ve got, ulterior motives (tell me the truth)
Youre counting all your sheep in the side
Caught up in a world of lies
Everyone know that (youve got)
Ulterior motives
Tell em the truth
Everyone knows it

If this was part of an actual Ad, then how come nobody remembers that sound to confirm this mystery? I mean some should be able to tell that they at least heard this couple times back in the day. Just like i still remember all the commercial music they played in the TV around 2001 that are no longer accessible, however i can still recall them deep in my head to this exact day.
I would like to hert the actual full song of EKT before I die..
i'm pretty sure this will be found before 2026
Some of you are definitely too young to remember how music used to be.
-The notion this is a “demo” is simply wrong. Demos didn’t get played on TV.
-That’s why this isn’t a commercial. Or from a video.
-The more I listen, the more I realize this was probably recorded off Music Choice/Stingray.
-People are convince it’s “every move”, consider the possibility it’s “every look”
Here’s a challenge for someone really interested. Contact stingray/music choice. Ask them if they still have playlists from the later 90s.
Key on independent or 80s songs.
