    When people criticize the Haka because they believe it gives the kiwi an unfair mental advantage, they fail to understand that the war dance lays down a challenge and it pumps up the opposition as well. Look at the french response in 2007 or the English one last year. The level of intensity in the stare off is phenomenal. This tradition, combined with the mana of the All Blacks, increases tension, aggression, physicality and always makes for very exciting matches.

      Yeah but you don’t see them complaining that it gives Samoa and Tonga an advantage.. they just come at the All Blacks because they usually win all the time

    I think the reason they do Haka is important to them. It's also important what the team players on the other side feel and do. So I love watching Haka and what they're doing on the opposite team.

    All you have to do to stop New Zealand from performing its haka, is to defeat them often enough. The all blacks have a 77% winning record over the past 122 years. The black ferns have a 90% winning record. The haka is a challenge, and no one else has yet met the challenge.

    I've always wondered. Why does NZ perform Kapa o pango (sp) against certain opponents only? I've noticed they perform it against the Springboks, England and Australia (other teams too?). Why is that?

    • @joneh9483
      @joneh9483 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Recently ( meaning the last 10 years) they have always kept the Kapo o pango for other tier-one nations. I'm guessing this is because it is more intimidating than the usual Haka

      @@bobbybobby3070 you realize the haka has been there for a long time? They do to this to lay down the challenge and also to respect their opponents its is also a formal greeting for them example is back when Maori tribes come to together and they greet each other with a haka
