Bjork was in the audience for this whole set. Something else incredible about this whole performance. Aurora is one of a kind and I'm happy to see so many different people across all races, cultures, and ages appreciating her!
Fun fact related to the brief convo about mixing up Aurora/Bjork and Norway/Iceland. Aurora is indeed from Norway....but this show is in Iceland. And guess who was in the audience watching this very show? Bjork! Once you know that, you really have to admire Aurora for giving zero indication of stage fright. If I had to sing in front of Bjork, I'm pretty sure I would dissolve into the ground and vanish.
Aurora? SHE'S THE FUCKING BEST OF THE BEST Just woke up, and that's all I can say for now.........How can someone be this good? AURORA CAN SHE IS! Amen
Björk was there at the radio station for this performance. ❤ i like to think that when Silja is seen smiling into the audience that it was Björk's eye, she caught and got a mini-applause well deserved. 3 voices I love: Aurora, Björk (esp during the Sugarcubes), and Liz Fraser (Cocteau Twins) from the Massive Attack cover Aurora did, all thought about in one video.
Glad to see you get to this one! This is one of my absolute favorites, so I'm not surprised to find it's one of yours too. This whole six-song set at KEXP Iceland is full of fun and energy, but this is the highlight for me. She was on fire this day, and your girl Bjork was in the audience. I'm sure you'll have no shortage of comments about her new song "Your Blood." I love the music video, but the live acoustic version in Beijing is great too. It would be awesome if you guys could do them both back-to-back.
I love your reaction to All Is Soft Inside (live KEXP) but I really look forward to seeing who or what you give a higher score to in the future, because I can't begin to imagine such a level of perfection. Cheers mates!
Aurora has a new single out but I would suggest looking at a slightly older performance next. A song off of her current album, performed in a live video with Amalie now doing backing vocals:- AURORA - Exhale Inhale (Live Performance) : th-cam.com/video/hJcIVes-6r4/w-d-xo.html
Cool 😊. Such a great song and performance. Don't know how many times I've watched this mini concert, but I struggle stopping once I've started. The video of her latest song was released 4 days ago and already passed a million views today. Apparently people like it😉. The again she has a bunch of great stuff, so whatever the next one is from you dudes, I'm looking forward to it.
Yes, great reaction. This is one of my favorite Aurora performances, I have so many though. I have a sliding scale for my favorites, it runs 10 to 10, lol. She is perfection and she is always surrounded by the best in the business with her band mates. Thanks
I totally agree it is masterpiece for me. It is incredible :). I love her energy and expressiveness and the whole song structure is great. I love how song progressing and her voice is so amazing here. Ps. When I made a ringtone for phone from it (some time ago), I made it from this live performance not from album version (which is also great but this live performance... :) ). Ps2. I would probably score 10 or 9,9 to make space for future songs (who knows) ;).
lol....I *_love_* your guys' intro title and graphics. The music, the voice-over, the specificity of the imagery.... I was never a lil' British boy who grew up with the BBC in the 70s....but I can well imagine those who did find that intro deeply nostalgic and memory unlocking. Also....feel free to react to Aurora every week...or every day! No amount of Aurora is too much Aurora. :D
Great reaction you guys :) This performance get a 10 from me, love it She just released a new song called “Your Blood” It would be really awesome if you could react to both the music video and the live performance at the meet and greet in Beijing (stripped down acoustic version) to compare. Two different versions
For me Aurora is the perfect blend of Bjorks, quirkiness and Enya’s melodic electronica. Top of the pile in this area with maybe only UK band London Grammar coming close to matching it for me.
@@TheThamesmen Unfortunately Silja left in May 2021 to pursue her own career, Aurora has 2 new backup singers now: Amalie and Thea, where Amalie is also playing synth. Aurora's "band" was formed in Jan 2014 when she was 17 with Silja Sol and Magnus, the guy on the drums in this performance, and Odd Martin the guy playing the guitar in "Murder Song", that you reacted to long ago.
@@TheThamesmen She always seems to have the best backup singers who are artists in their own right. She has also sung with another Norwegian, Selma Frida Stang, who I believe was with her at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert - worth looking at a couple of songs from that concert if you can
I think that it really doesn't do any of the artists a favour as in the last little while when x number of songs have come on receiving a top mark and then another tune has their score reajusted. I would suggest any song that has its score reajusted should be featured in some sort of sing off to allow more of a head to head competition before adjusting a score. Food for thought
Hi guys. I think you are geo-blocked in Australia. I don't have much to add as I think you covered it all. A spectacular song. Score wise, I think you got it about right. This is above everything else on the board apart from The Beatles final track (we all know why that got a 10 ... because of their entire body of work was tied up neatly with the nostalgic Now and Then) and probably, Lou Reed. I don't mind Aurora sneaking above Lou Reed with this track on the Lazer Score Board, her performance was outstanding. However, I don't know if we will be listening to Aurora in 30 years with the same reverence many have for Lou Reed or The Beatles. When Aurora transcends descriptions and creates her own widely recognized and participated genre then I will move my 8.8 to a 9.1.
G'day guy's hope all is well. Could you guy's please do a Jimmy Barnes Christmas song this month pick any song from his Christmas album from last year Blue Christmas. You haven't heard a Christmas song until you have heard Jimmy sing them.
Just curious what address/response is the best to suggest a tune. I know you are busy but whipping post live filmore east is still waiting to impress you. Also check out I shall be realeased from the finally of the Last Waltz very impressive
Sorry but 8.8 for this performance?seriously I think I’d put you at the back of that bike for that score.for a live performance this is a 10 all day long.
One day you guys will get kicked off of youtube for being too offensive. Until then I will be watching, but don't say I didn't warn you, lol. Aurora and her band are always amazing. Not my kind of music, but I find it just as entrancing as you guys do. I was thinking 8.7 as a score. But I won't argue with either of your numbers.
I liked this a lot! Combined 17.8? No, I'm sorry, your enthusiasm got the better of you! Vocals were phenomenal, percussion was great, synthesizers were solid, bass was good -- but the bass solo? Not needed, and I have to make a deduction there. I'd say 7.5 to 8 is a proper score. Cheers!
Everything she does is gold because she loves what she does and was born to do it.
My fave Aurora live session. The artistry, the sound and the energy are just phenomenal
This is AURORA. She is always full of energy, emotions and talents.
The whole concert is phenomenal. Love Aurora.❤
The question is: What is missing so that the melody, the execution, the lyrics do not get top scores? A solid 10 from me!
So speaks a fan…………

This entire concert is top shelf...and she does some funny commentary at times. Plus it's not too long and worth watching! Absolutely `10'

Morning
Bjork was there in the audience that night.
My favorite Aurora song (by a hair). Fun review, thanks guys.
It's like 3 songs in 1 because of the changes in the mood of the song

The quirky Icelandic singer you were thinking of (Björk) was actually at this performance :-).
she's definitely a phenomenon. but these years were when she was at her vocal peak, and her team, they created the perfect live sound.

That whole show is great!
We Better watch more then!

Check out her new video or live performance for her song "Your Blood".
i would like to see a comparison of both.

Well maybe coming soon!
Have you guys not seen Through The Eyes of a Child at Niderosdomen ? There is nothing in the world like it
You weren't a million miles off when you said Iceland. This performance was in Iceland and Björk was in the audience!
Also Iceland is kind of like Norway on speed, so in general one can´t blame people for mixing them up.
