    Sorry for the volume issues. Since I travel full time, when I'm outside of the US I book a house sit through TrustedHousesitters, then ask the homeowner to connect me with other people who could use my services. TrustedHousesitter sits are unpaid, but I get paid for word-of-mouth bookings.
    TrustedHousesitters for house sitting and pet sitting worldwide: tidd.ly/9328175b [This is my affiliate link]
    In the US I sometimes book paid pet sits through Rover. This link will give you an extra $20 after your first job with Rover. sit.rover.com/v2VWC

    I am a college student in Toronto, Canada. I am very inspired by this option as it may help me meet several of my goals. My dream would be to get a house sit in the Province of Quebec. Why? First of all, my dream has always been to become proficient in Canadian French. Secondly, as a student, I need to minmize the amount I spend on rent but at the same time, have basic amenities such as wi-fi, access to a kitchen, desk, bed, heat, etc.. Thirdly, my classes this year will be online due to the pandemic, so I figure I can be anywhere (I prefer to be in either Ontario and Quebec) and if I can do my studies remotely, as well as gain proficiency in a new language this 2020-21 academic year while living in an environment where I could practice , would be a dream come true.

    • @StephaniePerry
      @StephaniePerry  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I find that if the house sit comes with more than a couple of pets, people expect to pay though. With word of mouth house sits, usually the client asks if I ‘m available for X dates and I say “Yes, and my fee is $Y per day.” If you’d still be willing to do the house sit without pay, follow up with them if they go silent on you and let them know your rate is negotiable.
