- On this episode of Police Vlogs we take a look inside the Miccosukee Police Department and ride with their Traffic Enforcement Unit and Officer Mike Fernandez. Ofc. Fernandez shows us some of his speed measurement tools such as his radar and lidar. We also go out on patrol to enforce traffic laws, we come across a subject with an arrest warrant, and respond to a rollover accident.

So you said one of your pet peeves is windshield tint but yet you have a slick top, isn’t the back flash from them quite distracting at night time?
@@jonbob9140 No not really! As you can see in the video, I responded to the MVA with clear visibility. The camera is right on the windshield which gets a lot of the lighting. I also work days not nights.
@@jonbob9140 they dont put lights on top of the vehicle to pirate off citizens. You notice how we are one of the only countries (non third world) to have stealth like police vehicles conducting traffic stops? Its unsafe and the only point of it is to generate more revenue. There are reasons why numerous states have outlawed it. Numerous studies about it as well.
As for window tint its simple. Gives cops a reason to pull you over to go fishing. Window tint laws are argued for "officer safety". Well guess what? YOU and YOUR family safety comes above all(as should the cop in regards to his/her family). I personally run 5/20 tint all around, I carry my firearm where ever I go(Legally). Visibility is critical if you are getting robbed while inside your car. The robber not being able to see where your hand is or what you are grabbing can be life or death in a deadly encounter.
Remember the police are there to investigate crime, meaning after its already happened. The average response time is 8 minutes. You are your families protector.
Oh cops are also there to profit off citizens. Govt puts police in a bad spot when they put projected ticket revenue in the following years budget.
I noticed some of your vehicles are different paint schemes with black on top and white on the bottom but others have all white with the pine stripes. Are those assigned to different divisions or are you guys switching over to a new design?
Sad to see the pain in these officers eyes, but this is reality. Being a Law Enforcement officer is not easy, it definitely takes a toll on a person.
That’s right I have been a volunteer fire firefighter in Stapleton Alabama for 6 years people what go through and see on a daily basis and still get up and go to work the next day.
Isn't easy? You literally sit on your ass all day and can't be fired even if you kill someone....

Nick, the officers in this video, and so many other officers are daily reminders that what you said is entirely not true. You gotta open your mind to the fact that news outlets run stories that have the most controversy because it drives their numbers, so that's all you're gonna see. Do your research and see the amazing work these men and women do on a daily basis.
@@brantttv1620 I was just basing that off of my first hand daily observations. To be fair I live in a very beautiful remote area with very little to no crime (i.e. real crimes with real victims). I mean every couple years there's murder for some rogue hiker gets lost on private land and the sheriff's department has to do some foot-work but, aside from that they spend 99% of their time in a patrol car looking for traffic violations. However if you call them about a crime, they show absolutely zero desire to investigate.
My Dad worked for Miccosukee for 22 years. I know their PD well. Good content!

Awesome video Nick!. As a former Miccosukee Police Officer, thank you for showing the great job that the Men & Woman of the Miccosukee Police Department do everyday. I know sometimes the officers there do not get the recognition they deserve. Although, I was only there for a short period of time, I can honestly say that I enjoyed the group of officers and supervisors that I worked with. I always tell people that working at Miccosukee made me the Officer I am today. Can’t wait for the follow up video 💪.
This should be entered into a film festival for documentary. Not only is it a real world look into the importance of police work, but the professional storytelling of a horrible situation was excellent. Well done, Nick!

This video shows the reality of being a police officer. Its not edited or scripted. And its what police officers have to face and deal with.
Live PD and other cop shows is all action all show long. Thats because they take weeks of filming and pick and choose which ones have the most action.
But when shows do that, they do not portrait the reality of being a police officer. People forget that Police officer are all humans just like the rest of us.
This will absolutely cause your channel to take off. Ever since we lost live PD… this will get so much traction.

Its true. It definitely does take a toll. Thats why it is so important to have a strong support system. Without a good support system, thats when depression and alcohol can start to set in.

This is your best video yet. And excellent job with the fatality MVC. From the footage to the music, everything was immaculate.
On a side note, you can see the stress in the officers’ eyes. As a dispatcher, we can always tell when our guys’ voices change when they arrive on the scene of a serious incident such as this. This is real life and cops are real people.

I use to live right next to chrome in west Kendall in casa vera apartments, let me just say all of chrome has basically turned into a huge drag strip, so many cars race on that road especially at night
First vehicle stopped had a "blue line" sticker on it. ;-)
Really looking forward to more of these, especially here in Florida. Spent a few years on the job myself here (Palm Beach County) back in the eighties and early nineties, in the days of the Dodge Diplomat and a stainless steel six-shooter on the hip.
As a patrol deputy who has to respond to it all this was very professional. I have been out with several fatalities in my county on i95 and we always get the people who are still in a hurry and try to pass in the grass. I'm looking forward to more content like this due to the engagement with the officers and why something was done the way it was done

Fascinating vlog. Really good idea, Nick. A great department to start with. As an EMS professional IRL, our jobs can be brutal & tragic. This is the reality of being a First Responder in any agency, whether Law Enforcement, EMS or Fire/Rescue.
