I appreciated this video more than 90% of the guys flying through it. Because we also have to feel our way through, and you revealed two mistakes I was making during setup of this exact mixer at a corporate conference last week. I can now clearly see what I was doing wrong because we just walked through it together. I LOVE this video just the way it is
The gain knob is to lift up the volume coming from the microphone (mic produces low volume). You want to set your gain so the reading is around -18dBfs on the console meter. Just to clear up what gain is for.
We have an X32 at our church and even though I'm the "livestream guy" I have to rely on someone else to hand off the audio to me. At least now I have some idea of what's involved. Right now I'm getting the audio via the monitor jacks on the X32. Watching your video encouraged me to download the app and discovered that I can introduce delay for the monitor jack which will allow me to synch audio and video into Yolobox Pro. Thank you!
Getting ready to donate one of these to my new church - what a timely video! Need to step up the mixing game in the sanctuary as well as improve things for live streaming. For the money it's very, very hard to beat!
I am really thankful to discover your training. I appreciate your walkthrough, trial and error style of teaching. We've installed this exact system at the church I Pastor. Will be a subscriber and join. Thanks so much!
Great content. I hope you record all the steps. I was looking to get the x32 mixer, but now I am thinking the compact. The struggle would be teaching how to use the compact
Thanks AJ.....our church (Mountain View Community Church in Fontana,CA) recently received this same bundle, and being new to digital boards, we are struggling....can't seem to get anything out of the headphones. As the worship leader, I'm just kind of standing back and watching our techs try to figure it out. This video was helpful to me....I suspect it's probably an output issue. So far we can get 3 channels to work out of the main outs, but nothing out of the headphones. I'll keep watching and hopefully we'll get it soon! Thanks again for your help......Pastor Mike
Hello well I've watch this twice and the second time I have the x32 with the s16 stage box in front of me ,Just got it today and it's getting a little bit clearer Thank you for the video.I;m using this at home in my basement I alway's like to mess around with sound so 'm trying to add a little more under standing I do have a A - H 16 channel R board I think I'll sale it now? . Thank's God Bless Don
Thank you for showing this. We have a Yamaha MG166CX that may need to be replaced due to some sliders not functioning properly or either I don't have it set right. But hey I am volunteering and learning as I go. I don't think I would ever need 32 channels. I use 8 to 10 on a regular basis. Up to twelve is someone comes in and has to plug in ipad or their own instrument.
I admire your bravery and humility to allow us to follow your process of discovery as you figure things out! However, if you wanted to make these videos more user friendly, you could do your first bring-up for your own benefit and then do a 10-15 minute walk through of the process for your channel.
It is basically the same box of funcitons, but 6 mix buses, 4 FX spaces, no mixing surface, and no AES. I have one. It has the same 16 inputs on the back as the X32 Compact, just unable to add the other 16 with a stage box. On the plus side, the inputs on the AR16 are combo jacks that will take XLR or 1/4 inch. It has only one stereo 1/4 inch line in instead of the 6 sends and returns. Does not have the card slot, so no live card or Dante network supported. Hope this helps. It is a slim model with a very trim in the size of a S16 stage box.
Greetings AJay! I can't believe I had not "LIKED" the video. I watched it earlier before purchasing our Compact x32. We also recently added the Behringer S16 Stagebox to replace an antiquated analog Snake. I'm stuck and hoping you can help me with a question. If you prefer to address this in a Friday Q & A, that will be fine. The question is - By adding the Stagebox, am I giving up the additional XLR and 1/4" ports on my x32? aka Gregory D. Mostella
This is the compact .. sooo tell me about the producer please and thanks Am looking to see which I should received. are they in the same family categories or is it that there completely different family
Question, a few of my microphone systems (which are new sorta) well i’m getting ah lot of cutting during my service do you know why i might be getting all this cutting ?
if it is a wireless microphone, check the squelch setting on the RF receiver, consider ways to improve RF reception if it is a problem if the audio reached x32, check noise gate setting: threshold too high? attack time too short? hold time too long?
BEWARE NOTE: Behringer has a major problem with its products documentation manuals in them using proprietary PDF X software, just has a nice long email session with them and this is my findings response: I believe the problem is you are using a proprietary PDF X software and it is a password protected doc. Most all pdf docs will open in acrobat pro and have full edit, but yours does not and has a password protection on if. I do not use any other PDF creation software, do to them not having the functions that Adobe Acrobat has and does such as copy, scan and insert functions that all others do not have. SO whoever created this manual in PDF X software, password protected this and all your other PDF docs created by it. SO yes your downloads for manuals are password protected by its creators. In conclusion this is a major problem, so no one can copy text or pics to create quick reference user notes to learn on using behringer products.

Thank you. This was a very helpful video. We are doing the exact same transition at our church.
Nice am digging this because am using this a church right now. This is helpful!
Glad it helped

Are you aware that with the X32 you can mix your stream mix separate from the house? If not let me know and I can tell you how.
@@starclassic71 Yes I am. I plan to do this for the church I am installing and why I really want one at my home church for this very reason
@@starclassic71 i need to know how to do this please! also i can't find the windows controller app @AjaytheCEO uses at 12:56 in the video

I'll do more videos during my installs and when I finally purchase one for my studio
Great encouragement for me newbie to tackle this mixer .. thank you
Glad it was helpful!
We just got ours thanks to everyone’s recommendations, can’t wait to use it tomorrow. I still have so much to learn
Hey great video. I use this every Sunday
Thank you
I bought the X32 full size last year and I love the board
I really want one for my home church too
Decent learning curve but it is a beautiful board. The latest firmware made it a BEAST also. I got ours used from Sweetwater.
So helpful to get me started
Glad it helped
Much aprreciated. this is on my upgrade list. So these tutorials are very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
We use the X32 COMPACT in our church, and all the audio you hear from our Livestream come from that X32

I had the same issue which headphone jack are you using to get sound from
I think the left side when you are facing the board
Really great video - thank you for posting. Nice work AJ!!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Most definitely helpful. This is a weak area for me as well.
Glad it was helpful!
Good morning I want to see if you can show the connections on the back after you hook it up.
I'll take a picture when I get back to my church and post it in the community tab
Hi AJ great video! I learned a lot. Could you look at the Behringer XR18?
I've set one of those up at Liberty Baptist. I'll be back there near the end of the year
It is basically the same box of funcitons, but 6 mix buses, 4 FX spaces, no mixing surface, and no AES. I have one. Hey no you are not. You need to set the inputs in routing
This is the compact .. sooo tell me about the producer please and thanks
Am looking to see which I should received. are they in the same family categories or is it that there completely different family
The producer doesn't have addressable led screens over each channel that is the only difference
@@AJaytheCEO
Ok noted .. thanks for giving me that point of statement
so I am perfect going into a correct direction
Thanks!
You're welcome and thank you
My church just received an X32. I was ahead of the game watching your videos.
Instead of S16 snake can I use other snake that are not digital?
Yes as it would just be a long extension of cables. I've done this with the x32
Thank you
Question, a few of my microphone systems (which are new sorta) well i’m getting ah lot of cutting during my service do you know why i might be getting all this cutting ?
Limits may be on your channels
if it is a wireless microphone, check the squelch setting on the RF receiver, consider ways to improve RF reception if it is a problem
if the audio reached x32, check noise gate setting: threshold too high? attack time too short? hold time too long?
Even though it's the compact edition that thing appears to be pretty big.
