That has to be a really young elephant. I spent some time around a young one that was about the size of the other elephant seen here. I never knew how wooly around the legs and head they are when that young. I guess I'm not too surprised to see how it's learning tactilely and using its mouth at times like human babies. Thanks to the young woman for her patience. ❤
Is that what that behavior is from?! I've seen footage where elephants will give "kisses" by blowing air into a human's cheek, I had no idea if it was a natural gesture or not
TheTeamster Local282NY yes they would. Seeing how the baby is very clumsy with it still. They aren't completely incompetent from birth, they're actually very developed compared to other mammal babies, this is why their gestation is so long.
Elephants are so smart. I love how even the baby one is so aware of where it is standing and stepping. It's smart enough to know not to walk over her or step on her as its checking her out. It keeps learning more by taking in information with its sensitive tip of its trunk like humans use their fingers to collect data with the sense of touch. It's probably thinking "Why the hell is her nose so small?" LOL
I think the elephant is trying to fix her nose or see if it can pull it out. Then she or he goes to feel the elephants nose and then goes back to feel the human girl's nose. How inquisitive!

And this is the case with Elephants, they're going instinct.

This elephant baby is the color mammoths were.
Me Jeet Well the asian elephant is the elephant that most closest resemble the woolly mammoth. What I reacted to is the color I have never seen any asian or african elephants with that brown color.
+King Wacky I've heard that if they're ever able to isolate usable woolly mammoth DNA we'd be able to revive it by placing it in African elephant embryos. We can already do so for a variety of other species, like placing an endangered yak's DNA in a cow embryo. Given the offspring survives it's a pretty amazing method of conservation. All we need is the DNA!
Or "dad if I sell enough lemonade, can we use the money to get a skilled doctor who will put this girl's nose back on ? I feel so sorry for injured humans."
they are asian elephants they are tallest at the arch of their back while African Elephants are tallest at the shoulder, yes you can use the ear too for adults but it is not so easy when they are babies
These are asian elephants. Babies are hairy like wolly mammoths, but lose their hair as they age cause of adapting to the warmer climate. They are the closest analog to wolly mammoths we have.

So gentle and kind for such a big animal.
You’re so lucky chillin with the baby elephants!!! I love it. Their so affectionate.
He tries to bond by blowing air in her nose. That's what they do with each other.
I guess blowing air in her nose is the elephant's way of giving a kiss?
Is that what that behavior is from?! I've seen footage where elephants will give "kisses" by blowing air into a human's cheek, I had no idea if it was a natural gesture or not
It is funny, horses do the same thing to great each other.
I didn't know that, thanks

This baby must have been less than a week old, because that's a lot of hair for an elephant to have.
SSlovebird it is a Mammut.
Lukas Gmünder lol!!!! Mini!!!!
TheTeamster Local282NY yes they would. Seeing how the baby is very clumsy with it still. They aren't completely incompetent from birth, they're actually very developed compared to other mammal babies, this is why their gestation is so long.
Morgan Last In the womb baby elephants practice lifting their trunks to help build muscle in the trunk. They are amazing animals.
I love that baby hair 💕
Omg she is just sitting there. I would have hugged him, kissed him. He is so adorable. I wish I were there in her place.
That's what will u do with your girl friend on first day.... But after that
Things change
seriously dude..? u found elephant calf more adorable than the girl?
@@vladimirsid7296, OF COURSE, THE BABY IS WAY MORE ADORABLE IF YOU LEAVE YOUR AMOROUS CONCERNS EVERYWHERE.
ACTUALLY. SHE IS JUST SITTING DOING NOTHING, I Would have so HUGGED THE BABY and KISSED.
I wish so too.
I thought so, too! very cute and interesting.
@@Thirikalee And notice she inspected the cameraman's arm to determine that the arms are human trunks. After that it seemed to reach it's satisfied conclusion

You can tell that baby absolutely loves that girl.
The baby elephant feels sorry for her because clearly, her trunk fell off.

@Andrew Baran agreed something about elephants that are just simply innocent and majestic
It's the hairiest baby elephant I've ever seen in my life. Reminds me of a Wooly Mammoth. 😍
Such a beautiful sight. How could anyone ever want to kill any beautiful animal is beyond me.
+Trent Hogan Because poverty and money.
+Trent Hogan Agreed.
+Moriquende I suggest an impoverished person find a legal way of making money instead of killing for Ivory which is illegal to sell or own. . .
Not to mention, if you keep constantly killing a breed of animal, eventually you're going to run out of the animal, and then where the hell will you be. And this is the case with Elephants, they're going instinct.
+Moriquende Or you could just be a pathetic piece of shit who feels like a big man because they shot it from a distance with a high powered rifle. Donald Trump's sons for instance.
+Trent Hogan
exactly
that baby elephant is so hairy, maybe it is the last mammoth alive lol. A baby mammoth.
Baby elephants are usually hairy. This one is no suprise.
Yummyjuice16 is back
Yes they are but I have never seen one this hairy, i mean look at it, it is more hairy than all other babies around also more hairy than any other baby elephant video or picture i have ever seen anywhere, also it is brown, elephants are grey'ish. This elephant baby is the color mammoths were.
King Wacky
Well, you're not wrong. Both are pachyderns.
Me Jeet
Well the asian elephant is the elephant that most closest resemble the woolly mammoth.
I don't know if they learn gentleness from their mother or how. But this baby girl is being so careful not to hurt the girl in purple!
Baby elephant: Why is your nose so short? ( ^ _ ^ )
Greek Pasta Salad Baby Elephant: *gasp* Mommy! Something bit off her nose!

no!

I agree😀

QuantumBraced lol not quite most animals are mean
so cool looks like a baby woolly mammoth
Ok, perhaps true, but it remains that this one is hairy; while those we usually see (even babies) are not.
Have you an explanation ?
Yeah this is most definitely an asian elephant
they are asian elephants they are tallest at the arch of their back while African Elephants are tallest at the shoulder, yes you can use the ear too for adults but it is not so easy when they are babies

hi TEHD...
yeaa cute baby hair head woolly elefant
These are asian elephants. Babies are hairy like wolly mammoths, but lose their hair as they age cause of adapting to the warmer climate. They are the closest analog to wolly mammoths we have.
