    Raises an interesting question about how long a coach can last when they start loosing or the public doesn't like the way they are playing. The bottom line is that international rugby is in the entertainment business and fans pay a lot of money to be entertained. Eddie Joness' team started loosing, playing boring / negative rugby and then there was EJs' personality which simply did not wash with the English. If you loose the fans you loose your job, its very simple.

      Well we got burned, everyone who could cried foul, but after thrashing Argentina 53-3, we didn't lose another, just a disappointing draw against England, blowing a big 1st half lead. Which pissed me off.
      Meanwhile, overnight France have served notice and blown England out here, they are looking unbeatable. The All Blacks on that performance will be underdogs by everybody else's standards, but ours. But we better leave, being cocky at home, do the mahi and get our hands dirty cause they won't be easy' come RWC time.

    It’s interesting to see what’s happening SH rugby. I’ve been saying for years that NH rugby has been on the rise big time. France are going to have generational golden eras on the way with their setup. Ireland have a conveyer belt of talent and a domestic system producing talent for years to come. England are always going to be in the mix. Scotland are starting to take it more seriously and for all intents and purposes Italy are playing a brand of rugby more suited to their culture - that is one to watch albeit for some curious rugby minds to enjoy (they beat Australia last summer). Very interesting times ahead!

    • @colejones6312
      @colejones6312 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Italy only beat Australia because Dave Rennie underestimated how good Italy could be and benched half the team. European rugby is going to overtake SH rugby at some point in the future. All the business and economic signs point to it and the on field performances are beginning to reflect it. Rugby is growing all over the world though with the exception of Australia and England.

      the economics over here in NH have gotten a bit out of hand, some of the unions have responded quickly on player welfare and club v country, others less so. But it is fair to say there’s fresh air between France/Ireland and the rest in Europe now. Club rugby is struggling big time.

      Love it how the Northern Hemisphere seem think they are so dominant, Out of all the games last year the draw against England was most disappointing. But they kicked the ball out, and gave us no chance of winning the game. Ireland deserved their 1st ever test series on New Zealand soil and join The 1971 Irish British lions, 1937 South Africa, 1994 Australia, & France as having won a Test series in New Zealand, they are in good company and deserve number 1 ranking atm. But the clouds are gathering, a storm is brewing and a Black cloud coming, Beware of Argentina, Japan as teams not to take likely, and on their day Australia can beat anyone. Could this year finally see France crack the code on home soil? Having been bride maid a couple of times. So glad we have Rugby being played in New Zealand with Super Rugby Pacific into our 3rd week, round 3 and no disruptions or lockdowns. We won't be underdone this year.

    I think in hindsight all the opinions on this clip have proven to be wrong. A few weeks have passed and we as a public are not talking about who the next coach is going to be. We're watching the rugby. If we waited till after the World Cup, the speculation would've continued. The pundits are thinking it's unfair on Foster, but the reality is 1. In any other country he wouldn't have survived this far. Every other sport/country/company would sack the man in charge but we sack the workers 2. Even if he does win the World Cup he shouldn't be appointed again, just like Steve Hanson should never have stayed on after winning in 2015. Hanson was going to stay on for 2 years, things got stale but he extended till the next World Cup. We all know how it all turned out and the team is still finding it's feet four years on after sacking 2 underlings.
