Misc - Sub-black and super-white data test.

  • Full data level: For daily use in supported software like Resolve.
    Video level: For broadcast or delivery purpose.
    Video level but not retain sub-black and super-white data: All sub-black and super-white data will be clipped when it scaled from full level to video level.
    Video level but retain sub-black and super-white data: All sub-black and super-white data will not be clipped but compressed along with overall level range when it scaled from full level to video level.
    Ask: What happens when you open full level video in a video player?
    Answer: Almost video renderer will scale it to video level but doesn't retain sub-black and super-white data. That causes losing the detail of sub-black and super-white pixels.
