XG is going to perform at Coachella in April. That's a pretty great achievement for a group that debuted only 3 years ago. Unfortunately, XG is underrated.

XG is a group of 7 "Xtraordinary Girls" from Japan but operate out of Korea. They are exceptional rappers, singers, and dancers. They are not considered k-pop but "X-pop" instead since they dive into many different genres such as R&B, rap, pop, house, edm. Please don’t compare XG to anyone else, cause there is no one on XG’s level, a couple small facts to groups typically compared to XG, Blackpink debut in 2017, became the first Kpop group to headline Coachella in 2023, then started their first world tour after, XG debuted in 2022, started their first world tour in 2024 and will complete it this month in 2025, they will have a couple of months off to prepare for headlining Coachella this year in 2025, Kpop is just Kpop with some great outstanding artists and groups that are targeted to the Korean audience with a few break outs to a global appeal but XG is it’s own thing where global appeal was and is the main goal, which they have done in a much shorter time then any other group have

The director that directed Jennie ZEN music video work with XG (GRL GVNG, Woke Up, Howling) way before Jennie hired him to direct ZEN.
they are not KPOP but XPOP and XG's level has far surpassed KPOP groups for a long time, although their first MV has a bit of KPOP direction but their next songs confirm that they have their own path with the music they create, they are very strong in hiphop and R&B, these 2 genres are completely opposite to KPOP's music taste, they show that they are a group with world-class musical thinking compared to the rest of KPOP, XG is really the number 1 group in the world right now, they are too strong, they are no longer IDOLs but real artists, they have their own path and they do not pursue the IDOL music style of KPOP, they follow the music style of the world, that's why, there are so many KPOP IDOLs who admire them, even the world's top hiphop rappers like JID, Connor Price, or TLC all posted praise them, Charlie Puth also praises their music, it's music that is produced by their own company, they don't use money to buy brains from people outside the company like KPOP groups, they are looked down upon by KPOP fans simply because they are Japanese, Koreans hardly like Japanese people and that's why XG has difficulty promoting in Korea, but they are too famous in the world, they have a huge fan base all over the world, they have toured more than 20 different countries and more than 30 different cities on different continents, and in a few months they will perform at COACHELLA, one of the biggest music festivals in the world, that's the dream of many KPOP groups and many artists around the world

Check out Woke Up. It is a full hip-hop track. Or In The Rain which is a 90s R&B song with no music video (but they uploaded the audio video and Alphaz did uploaded color coded lyric video with audio too).
XG considered themselves as an X-Pop group with them wanting to simply explore music with different sounds without restrictions. Also, during their interviews, they said that they were heavily inspired by the Western OG such as TLC and Destiny’s Child.
In a lot of their extra contents like XG Tape, XG Move, and XG Vox, they paid a lot of homages to the OG. From the video aesthetic to the clothes they wear are from the era of the songs they chose to cover. 😃

Once you start going to more videos you find out XG is different. All rounders.
Im glad you liked it, we usually dont recommend Tippytoes as a first introduction to XG because its one of there more Kpoppy songs and XG is way more Hiphop/RnB, so you will be surprised if you listen to , wokeup, howlling, hesonno/xgene, girl gang, left right. Please dont stop and check out their other songs!

Thanks for your reaction. Though you're a self-professed Kpop hater you're still respectful. Just a trivia for you, they did the dance practice of Tippy Toes during the COVID lockdown. Their choreographer, Sienna Lalau (she has worked with BTS, Bieber, and JLo), is LA-based so they had to do the practices via video conference.
