Some weird and wonderful gems indeed! I have actually converted 2 Yamaha CSY's. The second one I used to add a third manual with solo synth to my E70. Now I own a fully programmable, home console version of the EX1 that is as versatile as an GX1 with programmer and always stable in tuning. Go figure!
Love the Clear "Walking" Basslines on this LP. Smart makes a small home organ sound as good as one costing three times as much, and with three times the features. Guess thats what makes him one of the greats. A Great organist should be able to make a small home organ sound good, and a bigger professional model sound good too :)
I met Harold Smart at a demo he was giving for a new Thomas model where I worked in Sheffield. What a lovely man .Such a gentleman and a great organist.
I used to demo Thomas organs and met Harold Smart at an event we held in Shefield. Lovely man and a very talented organist....He was amazing to watch and you could almost see his fingers thinking out the melody as he played....Sadly missed
MIKE where did you find all of these? I never heard or played any of them, except the Hammond. Were they only sold in other countries? Very interesting and well-produced, and thanks..... Mike Reed, Organist
This is Harold Smart, first heard him on the organist entertains. He is playing One of the Thomas Brand of organs from America not sure which model he is playing from He also loved the Moog synthesizer
Yes, it is Harold at the organ ... but not a Thomas on this occasion - It is a National SX-7000 organ! Harold was one of the first demonstrators of the National Panasonic range of organs back in the mid 70s - the organ range was imported into the UK by Southern Organs, a retail group from the south of England.
Thery Good Beautiful!
Underbart att se dessa orglar från förrut! 👏👏🙂👍🎹🎵🎶
