Most trains only have one ticket. The Shinkansen, Narita Express, and Skyliner require two tickets (a train ticket + a limited express ticket). The vending machine on the platform is for a limited express tickets.

Currently, new Suica cards are not being issued due to material procurement issues. Also, you can pass through the gate with a ticket even if you don't have a Suica. The Keisei Skyliner stops at Narita Airport → Airport Terminal 2 → Nippori → Keisei Ueno. Keisei Ueno is the last stop.

You can get the basic ticket at the same machine where you buy the liner ticket. If you pause at 1:25 you'll see the option to buy both.

Guessing you figured it out but the turnstile is for the basic fare only. So either enter your printed basic fare ticket or tap. Not both.

It is unlikely that Skyliner tickets will be sold out. I think you should buy it at Narita like in this video instead of online.
